First off, being a tattoo artist should be fun and amazing, if you chose to do that you should love your job, it's not like your forced to tattoo it's a career you obviously choose to be in. If I could give this place ZERO stars I would, my friends and I came in to get little finger tattoos, probably the simplest ones too, a moon and a sun, SHAWN did them and I have never met such a crappy tattoo artist. First off he didn't use the stencil I showed him, couldn't follow a simple circle and lines for his life on the sun. When he finished which took him probably 1 minute to do my tattoo, my eyes instantly filled up with tears. IT IS HORRRRRIBLE, how do you mess up a sun.. I didn't wanna be rude because my friends were going after me and he seemed like the type to make it look bad if he doesn't like you. This fat man ruined my finger for life. I politely asked if he could fix it and he got so mad at me and made it seem it was entirely my fault.. rudest man I've ever laid eyes on. Then yelled about how he had to open another needle for me. As he was fixing it his words were "nothing is ever perfect, you settle for what you get" I was just blown away, this man is the dumbest person to think you let people settle for ink that will be on your body till you die. Please don't go here, staff sucks ass and don't know how to even greet you.

also I must mention he ignored me when I tried to make small talk and made the whole situation extremely uncomfortable. Very rude and not good work or customer service

My tattoo was rushed and didn't come out that good. At first glance it looked good but later I saw all of the imperfections. Some of the lines are jagged, some aren't connected, the thickness of the lines is inconsistent, among many other errors. I'm going to get it fixed somewhere else.

Went in for the Friday the 13 special. The shop is clean, the receptionist was nice and friendly esp dealing with rude customers, but the artists were definitely tired that day. Also I observed two artists go out front for smoke breaks and not wash there hands uppon returning inside. Although they wore gloves and the environment was sterile it was still a sour impression. However I had a cute young artiest give me my design. She was nice, no small talk (as too I'm sure she was very tired that day) and went above and beyond to meet my needs. Since I never got her name I can't piblically say who she was, except she is a sight for sore eyes 😉

I've got over 10 tattoos, done by other artists. I went to Elm City Tattoo in 2017 and have never gotten such horrible line work done in my life. I knew as soon as he finished the tattoo that I would be going somewhere else to get it covered. The tattoo was extremely simple and he still managed to butcher it. The environment didn't seem professional and even slightly judgemental. The shop was clean, but that was the only good thing about it.

do NOT go here! My friend got a nose piercing and it immediately sunk into her face and had to get it removed within a week because it was too high up in the nose. The piercer would not pierce it lower because it would take longer to heal. Unacceptable and lazy. expensive and low quality. Go to dark mark in keene, they took it out and offered to pierce at half price because of the bad experience we had already had!

He argued with me on what I wanted for a memorial tattoo for my grandmother. I still didn't get what I wantEd and it still pisses me off. Never again. If you want to be treated with respect get what you want.. Art for Life Tattoo is amazing I wouldn't go elsewhere again!

Mark's customer service was some of the best service I have received not only when getting a tattoo, but in general. He was very helpful and patient with all the questions my husband and I threw at him. I went in with an idea and he was able to develop a tattoo that perfectly encompassed what I was looking for. His color blending technique is amazing. I have multiple tattoos and was giving tips to facilitate healing that I have never heard before--as a result, this was by far the best healing experience I have had of my 8 tattoos. I would recommend Elm City Tattoo and Mark to anyone looking for a tattoo, and will go to Mark when I'm ready for my next one.

First of all, I don't know him on a personal level, but Mark Manley, the owner of the shop is the absolute nicest, funniest guy to hang out with while your getting a tattoo. With that said, he doesn't seem to have a grasp on the severity of how terrible his employee Shawn is. I came into the shop a few months ago to get a tattoo on my arm. Not only did Shawn stiff arm me on an over priced tattoo that came out darker then I ever wanted it to (the stencil had no shading, but Shawn went ahead and shaded it as if it were one of his stupid flaming skull tattoos on his arm) Shawn also rushed my tattoo leaving it 3/4 of the way done so that he could "go ride his motorcycle". If you want real art, please go to mark directly, not his half wit, bumbling Neanderthal employee Shawn. I have talked to several friends that have gotten tattoos here and they all agree. Shawn ruined something that is now going to be on my body for the rest of my life, and charged me double what it should have been. I wouldn't be surprised if he is pocketing some of them money, the guy charged me $240 for 1 hour and 45 min of bullshit, half assed, over shaded and not finished art that I have to look at every day. Really wish I could go back but honestly just seeing Shawn would infuriate me beyond belief.

Went in for the Friday the 13 special. The shop is clean, the receptionist was nice and friendly esp dealing with rude customers, but the artists were definitely tired that day. Also I observed two artists go out front for smoke breaks and not wash there hands uppon returning inside. Although they wore gloves and the environment was sterile it was still a sour impression. However I had a cute young artiest give me my design. She was nice, no small talk (as too I'm sure she was very tired that day) and went above and beyond to meet my needs. I've got over 10 tattoos, done by other artists. I went to Elm City Tattoo in 2017 and have never gotten such horrible line work done in my life. I knew as soon as he finished the tattoo that I would be going somewhere else to get it covered. The tattoo was extremely simple and he still managed to butcher it.
