Let me just start off by saying there is so much freaking talent in this shop! I found Blake while looking for an artist to finish my husband's tattoo sleeve that was started by a previous artist. Blake was so quick to respond, so easy going, and met with my husband to plan out the rest of his sleeve. Fast forward about a week and Blake had posted some awesome drawings saying he had some immediate openings to fill so I jumped on quick! He was so flexible, so easy going, and honestly just a genuine cool dude to spend a couple hours with. He charges a super fair hourly rate and his tattoos are flawless. Jorge did an amazing job on my husband's tattoo. My husband is in the Navy and we have a son that has Autism and ADHD and wanted something that represented both, so he for a Nautical Star with puzzle pieces inside. After years of searching. I came across Reno Tattoo and finally jumped the gun and got the arm sleeve I've wanted for years. Canyon Webb was the artist I went with as he does the most incredible dot work. However, all the artists there do amazing work and each artist has a different style to meet everyone's wants and needs. The shop itself is beautiful. It's set up a lot like an art studio and its probably cleaner than a doctors office, hygiene is definitely a high priority. Each artist has their work up in the lobby with table top books to show their work. The artist's area was covered with beautiful art and pictures of his family, it was so comfortable I felt like I was getting tattooed at my home. The actual process was awesome. It was a very custom experience, the sleeve was designed specifically for me and my wants and the end result is so beautiful I almost dont feel like I deserve it. To watch his art transform on my body over 3 sessions was an experience I needed and something I felt privileged to be a part of. I can honestly say when I look in the mirror I see a stronger version of myself. I definitely plan to be back in the fall for more work. Another great part of Reno Tattoo is the customer service. There is always someone there to answer questions about after care etc...as I definitely called and they were open to answer any questions. Layla Smith answers the phones and schedules appointments but shes also an incredible artist herself. She has SoftHeart PMU and she is just so passionate about her work and is so awesome at microblading. She also does the cutest freckles that look 100% real, they are so adorable. Sent in a form online about getting a tattoo and didn't know who I'd end up with as an artist, but after looking at all their portfolios I wasn't too worried.  When I got there, they told me Cody Holler would be tattooing me today and I was pretty much down for whatever.  I met him and could tell instantly he was gonna do great.  He let me check the stencil and the placement as much as I wanted, and made sure I knew it was okay to ask for it to be moved around and stuff.  He was checking up on me during the tattoo and made conversation the whole time which made it a lot less painful.  He was the coolest dude and worked quickly so that I was done in less than an hour and he only charged me $100, which I felt like was really not even close to what he deserved for the great line work he did.  Overall, super good experience and I am super happy with the tattoo.  Definitely recommend the shop as a whole, but specifically with Cody if you're looking for a great experience. I have been meaning to come in forever. Literally. My cousin has had a tattoo here when they were at the old location.  She is from out of town and when she came back to town the following year she wanted to cover up the first tattoo.  I went with her to get the cover up done and was completely blown away.  Granted it was a top of foot tattoo that went from a blue balloon to a blue hibiscus flower and wasn't exceptionally large but I was amazed at watching the transformation before my very eyes.   I do know the shop owner as a friend, but I remember talking about the process of tattoos and his opinion and knowledge came across to me as very educated and very concerned about hygenics and of course the talent his artists have. I really trust the cleanliness of this shop because of that. And I hope to some day have a smaller tattoo done to commemorate my transplant.  But today I came in to take advantage of a special they had on piercings. I would call ahead and make an appointment for the piercing even if you think you dont need it. As I came in around 6 in Friday and the piercer had already left to be with her kids.  I wasnt bothered though and made an appointment for the following day. As a newbie to anything besides ear lobe piercings, I really liked that Brenda took her time and let me take time on my choices. I got to ask a lot or questions and she was super helpful and patient.   I chose a bit pricier option for jewelery and we were off to the back, private and bright piercing room.  Once again the entire shop is so clean and open.  It took maybe 10 minutes once back in the piercing room between marking, cleaning and then piercing.  I got a forward helix and was unsure of the pain to expect.  It is a very sharp pince for a second or two and then it was over. I am actually sitting at home and exclaimed to myself out loud "it doesnt even hurt!" Haha I remember getting my lobes pierced with the guns at Claire's and how much my ears ached after.  I am even doing research now about getting those re-pierced correctly as I cant wear lobe earrings and I am reading it could be from the way I had them originally pierced.  Anyways.  The piercing cost itself for the forward helix was $30 without the discount.  The basic jewelry of titanium starts around around $50 and goes up.  I got a gold opal stud for my ear and it was around $90. Tried multiple tattoo places around Reno and nobody would do the tatto that I wanted due to the placement and the small details ( inside my lip) lol but I found Jorge at Reno tattoo and he had no hesitation and was totally confident and he did an amazing job! They say lip tattoos don't usually last for more than a few months but mine is still as vivid as ever and it's been 3 years now! Just left Reno Tattoo with the best piercing service I've ever experienced, mainly because of Brenda who was my piercer. I came here because my recent tragus piercing came out and I had to get it re-opened. The whole store is very organized and very clean, which I think is extremely imperative. The staff was welcoming and helpful. Brenda guided me through every step and thoroughly explained how she was going to re-pierce the tragus, which alleviated my anxiety. I've been coming here since I turned 18. I have gotten all of my piercings at Reno Tattoo Company and I also got my first tattoo done here by Brian Chambers about 6 years ago (which was a beautiful piece). Although I now see a different tattoo artist, I still come here for piercings. Their new location in midtown is way more spacious than their last and parking is also less of a hassle. It looks deceiving from the outside, but once you walk in you're blown away by how nice and open it truly is. It's on the second level, right above Recycled Records. The rooms are more private than they were at the last location which is nice.My first time at the new location was a few weeks ago when I decided to do a drop in around 6:30 for a daith piercing. I called ahead of time and was informed they were open until 8 taking walk-ins for piercings. When I arrived and told the guy what I was here for, he mentioned their piercer (Brenda) was just getting ready to leave for the night but would check and see if she could stick around to do my piercing. I got the vibe she was a little ticked off (which I could semi-understand, but at the same time they're supposed to be open till 8). It was my first time meeting her, all of my other piercings were done a while back by someone else (nose, belly button, cartilage). My co-worker had just gotten her daith pierced two weeks prior and told me it was $40. When going over jewelry and prices, Brenda informed me they had raised their prices and the lowest cost for a daith would be $52. It was more than I was expecting to pay, but the frequency of migraines I used to get were worth the cost.I was a little intimidated by her at first, but she seemed to warm up after a few minutes. It was cool of her to stay and take care of the piercing for me, which I thanked her for. She gave me some salt and care instructions to help keep the daith piercing clean and free of infection. First the pros: Very clean and spacious, nice folks and great audio speakers. LOL. Artist Shaun is personable, works very quickly and his pricing is VERY fair, (much better than most in Reno!) AND he's more than willing to do the smaller jobs other tattooists decline on doing. No job too big or too small, as the saying goes! I was happy the first time he "inked" me enough to go back for additional work. I've had previous work done in New York, Florida and California so I know a good artist when I have one.Now the cons: As many creative folks are, he tends to lack sufficient "administrative" skills. Leaving him a text or voice message can well go unanswered for a week or even completely ignored. Additionally, I had to return later then my last appointment scheduled because he "double booked", but in disclosed fairness, I offered to return later in return for a favor.Over all, two very good experiences. I have a very well done tattoo. Clean line work and whatnot.. I do not feel the artist(s) at the front counter matches me with a good fitting artist for what I wanted (I requested 2 different ones, they didn't want to do my tattoo. Seemed bothered by the thought of it saying "I guess I'll do it if they don't want to.." ) I do not at all think MY IDEAS for what should be on MY SKIN were taken seriously or under great consideration as it should have been. As a example my artist thought I wanted color in our second appointment... Consultation: said I did NOT want color. Outline app: I said I did NOT want color. Shading app: My artist starts pouring color ink, I remind him and he's completely shocked I didn't want color. Meaning it was designed to be a color tattoo... And you can defiantly tell. SAME ARTIST - very simple hand drawn design.. I say "I'd like teals, blues, and purples maybe some yellow" I LOOK AWAY FOR A COUPLE MINUTES AND MY BOYFRIEND GOES TO THE BATHROOM AND THERES FUCKING *RED* in my tattoo. The coolest part too. I understand being a professional. Not having your head so far up your ass you feel too good to take your clients opinions and PREFERENCES under consideration. Sometimes you have to give the paying client what they want and not only what you think would look good. AND THIS GOES TO ALL THE ARTIST THAT I HAD INTERACTED WITH AT THIS PLACE INCLUDING THE OLD PIERCER (who I only asked 2 questions about their jewlery inventory) SORRY FOR BOTHERING YOU AND PAYING YOU A COUPLE HUNDRED DOLLARS WONT HAPPEN AGAIN. I'm going to be ashamed to walk into a different shop to get them touched up. I see pictures and drawing of such great work and it sucks I feel shit on. Read Less

I have had several piercings done byBoth Jena and Brenda at Reno Tattoo.  I had to go back when one of the posts needed to be changed out for a longer one, and Brenda changed it out for me. My latest piercing was done very near to an old healed up piercing and I expected it to be quite painful. Brenda took her time and explained everything that she was doing, and with much less pain than I anticipated. Jordan is an exceptional artist, and a very kind soul. He worked up a space nebula tattoo for me that is STUNNING! It looks even better than I imagined it in my mind's eye. Part of it was a drawing that my recently passed Mom did, and he NAILED it. Got my nostril pierced here at the end of March during their discount day at the end of the month, had a really good experience. Jena was very sanitary and explained everything she was doing, and made sure I was okay with the placement. After the initial piercing she stated that the piercing was crooked and asked if she could do it again, and I said yes. Initially, this doesn't seem like a good thing, but it is. She recognized that it wasn't her best work and instead of ignoring it and sending me on my way she wanted to fix it, and of course i consented. The piercing looked amazing! I really loved it but unfortunately ended up taking it out about two months later. Apparently I'm just not cut out for having a piercing there because it drove me nutso lol.
