I came in for an appointment with Luke and while we were waiting for him to draw my tattoo up a few people came in for walk-in appointments. The staff was very friendly and attentive and made sure they got to the artist that would best suit the kind of art they were trying to get. In fact, everyone there was super friendly, asking how we were and taking care of clients. Sometimes you don't get that vibe from tattoo shops, so it was nice. The shop was extremely clean and I liked the open concept style of the different artists areas. It gave me plenty of things to look at to distract me from the actual tattooing. I stumbled upon this place after being told my skin was too dark for color by Evolution Tattoo. Thing is I have other tattoos with color so I was pissed and the guy from evolution was not very welcoming. Came here and wonderful Justin was waiting just for me at the my desk... it was magic at first site...I explained my deal and what had taken place down the street. Justin instantly said No Way... color will totally show. Justin's tattoo work is not only amazing he was very comforting and even told really funny jokes... he was awesome. I stopped into the shop shortly after opening on a weekday. When you first walk in it is the check in desk for the tattoo shop and all the artist spaces behind it. I was looking for the art gallery portion so I started to walk to the left through an open door. Before I entered, I was greeted by a friendly employee. She later informed me she's the shop manager.She was incredibly helpful and took me into the gallery area and helped me find the size of the t-shirt I was looking for. She also gave me more info about the plans for the gallery over the next few months - including the upcoming Midtown ArtWalk! I am a huge fan of the artist who's tee I came to buy (@thatlucidokid and @radthief) and I was elated to see his work and products in such an awesome place. They were super supportive and excited for him and that enthusiasm showed clearly in the above and beyond customer service - in and out of the supply area, pulling down displays, looking for a size list, etc.Do yourself a favor and check out the local art in display in here. Ron is the greatest! I met with him last November for my first tattoo on my shoulder. He's very mellow and listens to all of your requests, not to mention an amazing artist. All of his artwork around his station is beautiful and you know when you come to him with an idea, he's going to execute it perfectly. I had to do two sessions for my first tattoo since it was very big. Both times he was very personable and continuously checking in with me to make sure I was alright, letting me take a break if needed. I recently met with him last week and I couldn't be happier. My friend and I had a appointment with Mark. We got very simple triangles done and the lines did not come out straight and they are not centered at all. I contacted the owner to let them know how unhappy I am with the tattoo but got no response. I am very displeased with the service I got here and definitely do not recommend this place. Read Less

I have been going to Mike Curatello in this shop for years, he is a great tattoo artists who is honest about what is best for the client and also listens to what they want in terms of artwork. I have gone to him with some large ideas and he has given me input and guidance so that my ideas would fit on my small stature (really petite). The other shop staff and artists are great as well and wont blatantly ignore you if you aren't their client which I have witnessed in other shops. They have been kind enough to get me food while I was getting my half sleeve done so when I got a break I would be able to get something to eat. Their clients keep returning  to their shop over and over again for a reason. I would recommend anyone in this shop to create a tattoo for someone, but Mike Curatello is the one I chose to go to personally. Read Less

For the art gallery:I recently checked out the ABC Art Attack show and I have to say, I LOVE this space.  It was a little odd going to a tattoo shop to see an art show but it really is in it's own space.  When you walk in the door you immediately turn left to go to the art space.  The lighting is superb and the sitting area was quite inviting.  I also liked seeing the art on the tattoo shop side.  We were greeted when we walked in and left to peruse the art in peace.  Overall a super great experience, I look forward to seeing more shows at Lasting Dose. Went for and with a first timer (support)  ...  was lucky enough to get a "traveling" artist from Canada who fit us in ... that was AWESOME to have learned that and truly honored to have that opportunity AND ... he was LEFT HANDED to boot! Didn't learn any of this until we were in convo during the tat. We was his last client b4 his travels home, he did an AMAZING job, VERY personable and as for the parlor ... If you want somebody clean, and professional, he's your guy. Ive been going to him for over a year now, and I cant see switching to anybody else. I finally decided to get my first tattoo, but there are so many tattoo parlors to choose from. I did my research and decided to go into Nightmare Studios. This was one of the best decisions I have made. The environment is comfortable feels like a chill place from the minute you walk in. I was greeted by one of the employees. He asked me what I wanted I let him know and he said he could set me up with an artist that same evening. I got a cross on my forearm, I've been wanting to get it for awhile now but finally grew a pair and went in. My tattoo artist was Mark, He's an amazing artist. My tattoo came out better than I had imagined it for such a simple cross. He made me feel comfortable while getting my tattoo which is a plus for anyone who's getting their first tattoo. Pricing was great too and the quality is worth the pricing (you get what you pay for). Overall Nightmare studios is one of the best places to get a tattoo and I will be returning soon! Read Less
