Found the very talented Mr Jason LynchOn instagram and followed him to this little Shop.  The shop itself is aesthetically pleasing clean , comfortable and professional . Checked out the other artist portfolios that worked at this shop and they all seemed to have experience to back them that could fit many different styles . My mom and I came here for Friday the 13th tattoos. We waited in line for over 4 hours, but it was so worth it! The flash available was gorgeous, the shop was very clean, and all the artists were very professional. My artist was Chris, he was very nice and my tattoos came out beautifully. It was my mother's very first tattoo. She had Jared, he was so nice to her and I appreciate all the hard work he put out to make it a great experience for her. I came here on a mission - to get a butt tat. Sean and i quickly became best friends as he helped me figure out placement and everything (first tattoo ever). Saw a repair tattoo of the Killers Album "Eddie" image that Chris did. I thought "If he can repair a tattoo and make it look like he did he could definitely do a custom Eddie tattoo", my thinking was correct. I set up an appointment, which was 2 months out, Chris is a popular artists. Chris designed a samurai Eddie for my left inner forearm. This was also a cover up of a 36 year old smaller tattoo on my forearm. Chris was easy to work with played lots of Iron Maiden while we sat for 6 hours working on the tattoo and some other music I was unfamiliar with but nonetheless enjoyed immensely. Atmosphere of shop is great, all other artists have great personalities and I was amused listening to the banter between them while getting inked. Artwork came out very sinister which is what I was looking for and unlike any other Eddie image I have seen, Chris has a great hand and artistic sensibility. 6 hours of work yielded a very detailed piece of art, which I get compliments on from many people. I hand out Chris's card where ever I go. I have recommended Black Cat to many people already and will continue to do so. I have another appointment in June for more work by Chris. Read Less

Poor work ethic. Wanted 2 small tattoos  ($300+) first Jared was gonna do it, even though he didn't have a portfolio.  Then he decides to call in another artist to help; guessing two tennis ball size tattoo's were to much for the poor fella. They told us to come back an hour later; giving time for artwork (basic stuff) no biggie. Got a phone call 45 min later, saying "we don't think we can get it done". I'm pretty sure they would rather party then work...it's was only 5pm. Tattoo parlors don't open at 7am after all...I'm glad it didn't happen after all.  I was flaked on, and a friend warned me after the fact that a previous (good) artist had left because of issues. Took my wife in for an appointment with the owner Chris. For her birthday she wanted some flowers. The attention to what she wanted was awesome. The vibe at the shop was positive. I hit this place up on Friday the 13th for some sweet deals, since where I was originally going to go was too swamped. I lucked out because Daniel only had one spot open that I could squeeze into! Had a very good time there on saturday. Finally got to have a tribute tattoo of my late cousins placed on my shoulder. Was also very pleased to find out that they would tattoo the same tattoo onto my late cousins young son. (With parental consent) Both of us played it off that we werent nervous. But in fact we both wanted to back out of it. But Danny made us feel better about the whole thing. I have never walked into a tattoo parlor and been welcomed.. Except black cat. I work at the salon next door and I had several people tel me to try this place. One of my clients highly recommended Dan. I went over to talk to him about an appt and he scheduled me right away. This review is specifically about one of the artists, Melissa!  She and the crew trekked out to Fresno for the tattoo convention here, and after walking the floor a few times I decided that she was the artist for me.  I honestly had researched another artist that went to the tattoo convention and thought I was going to get it done by her, but once I saw pictures of Melissa's work, a change had to be made!  I was a little nervous because I usually get a little woozy when I get tattoos, but she was amazing.  She was chatty, and yet focused.  She was super nice and made me feel totally at ease.  This was my 4th tattoo and by far the best experience I've ever had.  And it came out SO good!  Thank you so much, Melissa! The night out with my daughter ended with a young artist designing a beautiful tattoo for us. Upon entering, we know that it's in an older part of town. No handicapped entrance and the way it looked there was no way to put one in. No handicapped bathroom either. Since I was in a wheelchair it was a small problem that was quickly fixed by who would soon be our artist.He was not only an awesome artist but a great guy. He introduced himself as Danny. His card said Danny Hanson and he has an Instagram.When my daughter's blood sugar dropped and he ran down to the 7-Eleven to grab her a root beer and chips so that she would be alright. He had a fantastic attitude and went far beyond the call of a tattoo artist by walking us to our car since it was after closing, after midnight. I've got to say that he is the best one I've met yet! I hope that the more skilled he becomes and the more time he spends doing tattoos, that he continues to see and hear the person he is working on. This was my first tattoo. I wanted to get one to memorialize  my dog death on October 19th 2012. I got it done on October 19th 2013. I had to get this right. I went to several parlors in Reno, but found Blackcat was the place for me. I asked if someone can help me with my cheesy design and Jayson stepped up. I was a little nervous to have Jayson do my tattoo because he was still in training but the shop assured me he was good. Jayson explained the process, how they use new needles each time and how clean the place is. I was ready!! Jayson redesign my tattoo. the coolest part is that everyone checked on him and gave him some technical advice. Talk about a team effort. I first learned about chris at black cat tattoo from a guy on a jobsite that had a rather large piece of artwork. he told me to check chris out because not only is he a great artist but willing to do a tattoo in multiple sessions so that getting inked becomes more affordable.
