Yes, this is very long - sorry, not sorry.  I'd been planning on getting another tattoo for a while and had an idea of what I wanted, though some friends and I recently decided to get tattoos with a certain idea in common, so my design idea changed just a bit.  I stopped into Black Spade Tattoo on a Wednesday after work, about 6:00 PM, and brought in a sample of my idea, hoping  I could maybe get it done just a few days later, on Saturday or Sunday.  It was quiet in the shop at that time.  Blaze was just checking out three girls who had all just gotten matching tattoos from him.  He greeted me immediately and said he would be right with me.   The owner, King Ruck, walked in shortly after that to get started on a half sleeve he was working on for his client.  When he walked in, he also greeted me immediately and asked if I'd been helped already.  Very nice guy!  I told him I had and that I was hoping to get something done on the weekend.  He took a look at the sample I brought and said that I should definitely be able to get it done on the weekend, though he wasn't sure that he'd have an opening himself.  Though it would have been cool to have him do it, since I'd seen him on the Ink Master show on TV, I was fine with another artist doing it for me.   As it turned out, Blaze said that he could do it for me on Saturday.  I told him my sample was just kind of an idea of what I wanted, but that I was open to him changing it up a bit. I arrived for my appointment on Saturday, before the shop opened, as Blaze said I could come a little early, and there were already a few artists there, three other clients who were getting matching tattoos, and Jayde, the girl who was working the front counter checking people in, providing info, processing payments, and answering the phone, etc.   She is super cool and adds great energy to the shop.  I couldn't remember her name at first but made a point to call the shop and ask before I wrote this review.After showing me the variation of my design that he worked up (I definitely liked the design that he came up with so I chose that over the sample I had brought in), Blaze gave me a couple different size options I could choose from, and offered his opinion as to the sizing after I asked what he thought (I appreciated that).  After selecting the size and placement (back of my shoulder), Blaze had me lay down on the table and he got to work.  Now, I do have a few other tattoos, so I'm aware of the process and pain factor, but I literally almost fell asleep during this tattoo.  There are three possible reasons for this, either:  1) I may have narcolepsy;  2) I have an extremely high tolerance for pain; or 3) he's just that freaking good!  I'm opting for #3.  Don't get me wrong, there's definitely pain involved, but it only started getting what I would call "annoying" about the last 10 minutes or so.  Blaze is definitely a perfectionist - my tattoo is all black and he took his time touching it up at the end and making sure that it was completely filled in.  I am a local though, so he told me that if I needed a touch up, I was welcome to come in anytime. While I was there, several people came in just to check out the shop, including a guy who owns his own tattoo shop somewhere back East , a couple came in to look at the books and talk about the tattoo ideas they were thinking of, and other clients came in for their own appointments.  They were all greeted and helped right away.Towards the end of my session, other artists, including King Ruck, came by to check out what I had done and complimented Blaze on his work.  Everyone in there is very supportive of each other, friendly, and genuinely loves their clients.  The vibe and comradery in this shop makes it an enjoyable experience.  A lot of people bring someone along with them or go in for group tattoos.  I just went by myself and felt totally comfortable and relaxed. The majority of reviews for this shop are positive, though I have seen a few negative ones.  I can appreciate that not everyone's experience will be same, but mine was amazing (I've already referred more than one person to Blaze and gave away an extra card of his that I had).  Thanks, Black Spade Tattoo & Blaze - I'll be back! On my last day in Vegas I walked in to Black Spade Tattoo and got a friendly greeting.  I wanted a small tattoo and after talking with Neech he got working.  As he was tattooing me we talked about some other tattoos that I have and about covering up a specific one. He took his time and he ended up with such a great suggestion that I ended up having him do the cover up right then and there. Jenn is my microblading artist and she did an excellent job giving my eyebrows a new shape. She has a sweet personality and she explains every step of the way. Just one thing to remember when you are getting your eyebrows microbladed is you gotta trust the process. I completely put my faith in Jenn that she will do a good job and she did! I can't wait for my retouch appointment once my brows are fully healed. The shop is also very cool as it used to be a train. It is also very clean which is important. Ok let me start by saying this was my first ever tattoo and I had the best experience I could ever ask for I had previously tried to get this tattoo done in California but After making an appointment the artist couldn't squeeze me even though I made an appointment a week in advance I did a lot of browsing and linked up with Eduardo aka beanz and he was the most professional and personable person I could ask for he met me on time which is really important to me he was super friendly and put me at ease after talking to him and letting him know it was my first tattoo he was super cool to talk to and would even distract me when he noticed It was becoming to painful for me I couldn't have asked for a better experience black spade is the only tattoo shop to go to hands down beanz will have my business for life thank you so much.P.S. The day is here, August 18th, the day is going amazing until we show up at Black Spade, my finance' goes in before me, I followed up shortly after a quick photo, I entered the car (place is in a pretty cool old rail car) and was immediately approached and asked "what I was doing in here?", I replied "I have an appointment with King", well he said "I'm King and I don't know what you're talking about? WTF? I said "What are you talking about, we have traded emails and I have been leaving you messages, and we paid a deposit yesterday" He then replied "I have no idea what you're talking about and asked me to leave his precious private car" I was in to good of a mood to be bothered by his rudeness, left his private care and proceed to the next car where I found my soon to be wife. She was pissed, apparently they still had no friggn clue what the hell was going on! We ended up with only (1) artist to do us both (He did a great tatoo by the way) However, we ended up wasting an additional 45-60 of our special day and photo time because these clowns run a horrible business and are clueless in the Customer Satisfaction. Nearly $800 later and my eyebrows are shaped differently and silvery grey in some areas. Each time I was told that it was due to me being "Asian" which I'm not or possibly having thyroid issues? - which I don't have- Really? a micro blade artist and an M.D. Worse of all you're working around this persons schedule. Initial visit she was 30 min late yet complained about having spent more time with me than with most clients. Right....You were late. Completely unapologetic and very blasé about my dislike of the shape and fading. Seriously- I have two completely different eyebrows which I am now struggling to shape and fill in every morning. I got my feet tatted by King Ruck. He's a really cool relaxed guy. He gave me a great price compared to every other shop I went to on Fremont. The shop is clean, the music was awesome, and I felt very comfortable getting tatted by him. I'm sending my mom here and any one else i know who needs work done in Vegas. Oh and even though it says no children allowed, I was the only one in there and I had my 2 yr old niece with me until my sister was coming to get her and he let her chill inside the whole time cuz it was very hot out. Hard to find but super friendly crew. Look for the fire breathing primantis and walk all the way to the back of the park till you see a black train. Google maps is quite deceiving. I love how they took us last minute. We got hooked up by Dollar. Only downside is when the tat scabbed up a piece of my husband's work came off. Will touch it up when we return to Vegas. Honestly this was the most reassuring and most comfortable place I could have gotten my first tattoo at. Ruck the owner runs his business very well. The receptionist was very courteous and made me and my sister feel welcome at the door. The tattoo artists there are very talented and I wouldn't have trusted anyone else to do my tattoo other than this place. Black Spade is located in Container Park and definitely worth a trip. It was behind the concert stage located in a vintage black train cart. The thing I appreciated the most was that you could leave a $50 deposit and make an appointment immediately. They were very quick to email you back after sending your art concept to them, so I got a very quick quote. I appreciated this because I needed to make a last minute appointment for my daughter's 18th birthday. Our artist was Neecie (pronounced 'Neechee') - he made our daughter feel very comfortable and was very laid-back and professional. You can pay your remaining bill afterward and your tip by credit card and they email your receipt immediately to you. It was all very professional and classy - which was a surprise for me and probably a rare thing for a tattoo place in this town! They do the pro makeup too. If you go on the website you can see how they fill in eyebrows - I'm thinking about doing it!This was definately a great place to go for a birthday because there is something at Container Park to do for everyone, like a super tall treehouse slide which becomes an adult slide after 9 p.m. - there's tons of shopping & dining and more. Like you definitely want to do a Dome/Dinner combo while you're there as well - just search: "The Dome at Container Park". Use your barcode to get in  and save your receipt to get your meal afterwards. There's great parking just to the west, across the street. When you see the huge steel praying mantis at the entrance you will know you're there. Then it's a hop skip and a jump to the Fremont experience to finish off the evening! I am a victim of late 90's over plucking! My eyebrow struggle has been real. I mean I had serious brow envy. After seeing my friend's fresh new brows I decided to take the plunge and contacted Jenn via email. I received a response a call days later asking for pictures of my current brows and ideas for my new ones. Crystal got back to me (they respond to emails in the order they are received, so just hold tight, they will get back to you) stating that the shape I was desiring was possible but it would be a big change for me and the people around me. After a couple months of debating I decided it was time. Setting up the appointment was easy, but be advised that she books 3 months at a time so you might have to wait until her next booking session (it's totally worth the wait, be patient) My appointment was yesterday, 6/25. I was greeted right away by the tattoo artist that was working and he let Jenn know I was there. Jenn is so friendly and knowledgeable. She takes the first 30 minutes to talk to you about exactly what you are looking for and let's you know her opinion (trust her) she applies numbing cream after exfoliating your brows and then draws the shape and removes any hairs that need to be removed. Then the fun part, there is a little pain but to me the worst part was the sound of the blade against my skin. Jenn and I engaged in conversation the whole time which is nice, it helps to keep your mind off of things and the process go by faster. After the initial strokes she adds more numbing cream to the area which really helps. She stops several times so you can tell her if you like it or if you would like her to add strokes in places etc...The whole process took about 2.5 hours. She explains the maintenance while they heal and gives you a packet of ointment to use daily. She stated it takes approximately 7-10 days to heal, my friend said her took about 2 weeks.I am so happy with the results! I can't wait until they are all healed up. I am recommending Black Spade and Jenn to all my friends that are interested in getting amazing envious brows. Park in the parking lot directly across from Container Park. They do except Visa and MasterCard but if you're able to bring cash, it saves you a processing fee (approximately 3%). it's pricey but completely worth every single penny. DO NOT MESS AROUND WITH LASH BARS OR PRETTY MUCH ANYONE ELSE CLAIMING THEY ARE MICROBLADE PROS! Spend the money, take the time, and bring your business to Black Spade. You will not regret it! ADDITIONAL INFORMATION! The shop owner Jenn contacted me today apologizing for her staff stating no one had passed the word on to her until today. She flat out said there was no good excuse and issued my refund around noon today. She just now, at almost 8pm at night, texted me asking me to edit or remove my review (see image below). Completely unprofessional. I would never recommend this business. ***ORIGINAL REVIEW: Went in to make an apt with a specific artist back in April. I made a $50 deposit for a session and the artist was later fired before my appointment. I was not informed that until the day before my apt by the artist herself, not the company. I called Black spade and spoke with a woman who took down the last 4 of my card number and the date of the transaction and she told me it would take up to 3-4 weeks to process. After a month I called this past Monday and spoke with another woman, who sounded like the same girl, who made a comment that "we were dealing with some issues at the front" and said she would leave the message for the owners and they would call me back later that day. It's now Thursday and no one has called. I called again as they are supposed to be open until 9 yet no one answered. Maybe this will help get their attention and give me my money back! Read Less

She's a true artist with vision, listens to your needs, takes time to explain the process and what would work for you as an individual. She happen to be off the day I visited so I got her email from King Ruck (super nice), emailed her a few weeks later, received a reply from her assistant a few days later with answers to my questions and possible dates available (around 3 months out). I placed my deposit and received an email a few days before my appointment date as a reminder. Appointment day, Jen was so lovely, great conversation, professional, patient, explained how the service would progress and her application was comfortable for me especially since I have no tattoos at all.I recommend to anyone considering getting their brows microbladed -1. Go to JEN, she's the HOLY GRAIL for the over tweezed and brow challenged people out there2. Email or call immediately,  she is booked far in advance but so worth the wait3. There's an option to touch up your brow's for a really super low additional fee a few weeks after service after the healing process, book that appointment as soon as you can too (if you need it) because just when you thought you had super model brows after your initial service, Jen goes in tweaks a few areas and takes your confidence to the next level!Overall this was an incredible experience and I am thrilled with my brows! I have had my eyebrow microblading done by Jenn, who is the top of her game, hands down: I could not be happier with my eyebrows. I came from nothing to brows that I’m constantly complimented on! She is a gem! Ruck recently did a tattoo for me that is my dads handwriting, and I am so overwhelmed at the replica he made for me plus the freehand watercolor heart he did. This review has nothing to do with their work. I haven't been to them and I'm sure their work is amazing. However, I've reached out to them via email regarding microblading and it has been a pain in the butt to say the least. Contacted them on March 29 and everything went well at first. Crystal, the assistant contacted me on April 3 with details on price and all that. She had also mention they'll be contacting everyone in the order they received the inquiry to offer some possible appoint dates. I sent in my pictures the next day of my brows and also asked some questions. Then on April 10, I followed up to see if i would get an update on scheduling an appointment. I never received a reply so and I followed up on April 23. All I wanted to do was to make sure I was still on the list for upcoming appointments, I didn't mind waiting, but I do mind that she couldn't bothering emailing me back and say something like "You're still on the list, we'll get back to you as soon as possible"?Finally on May 2, she got back to me with possible dates, mind you the questions I asked April 4 were never answered. I replied within the same day and asked if there were any weekends available along with asking my questions again. She got back to me quickly this time and said Jen doesn't have any new clients openings left on weekends... which is understandable, those got booked up quickly probably. So I replied that I don't mind waiting for the next set of appointments in the fall if I can get a weekend appointment. She said she cannot guarantee and if I'm willing to wait I would just have to contact them back in August? Completely shocked. That means I have to start this process all over again? I don't understand why I can't be put on a wait list of some sort and THEY can contact ME when a weekend appointment becomes available? What if I call on August 1st and they've already offered weekend appointments to other new clients? Makes zero sense to me. I just feel like they lack communication considering there's an actual assistant to take care of these things. I understand her work is amazing, but their customer service just isn't there. My boys and I (5 of us total) have been talking about a group tat for the better part of 18 months or so now.  When the opportunity presented itself for us to get in with King Ruck and his crew we figured it was "put up or shut up" time, so we scheduled and sent him a basic reference idea for him to build upon.The actual experience far exceeded any expectation I had.  We all have had several (many, in some instances...) tattoo sessions to compare to and without a doubt this was the greatest for all of us.  Ruck and his team were attentive, creative, expedient and, above all us, cordial and just fun as hell to hang out with for a few hours.  The whole session was far and away the highlight of an epic weekend.  We're looking for inspiration and opportunities to do it all over again.  Couldn't possibly recommend this place more. Had an original design I sent a little bit before my appointment. Ruck my rough design and had many of his drawings ready when I walked in to shop.What he drew up was spectacular and we sat down and started on my tattoo. He took his time and the detail was amazing. Jenn is amazing at eyebrows!! Her micro blading skills are like no other that I have seen. I went to her a couple years ago and back for a touch up just last week. Not only is he the friendliest guy but he takes the time to really understand your needs and extrapolate what you are looking for. His sketching skills are amazing, needless to say. I plan to get my second tattoo done by him in the next few months.I got my first tattoo done by Kyla. Kyla herself is also an amazing artist and she nailed the design I wanted to the T. I got mine done in about two hours and I'm blown away. This is is one I will always cherish.Prices are fairly reasonable. We arrived this afternoon after 1. They scheduled my daughter-in-law and took a deposit. I was told they would try to move an appointment to get me in and would call me to let me know. They called me at 1:57pm to say they could take me at 3:15. I returned at 3 and waited, patiently, until 5. When the artist doing my daughter-in-law's tattoo told me it would depend on how long hers took, if she would have time for mine. She asked if we were local, I'm guessing that was a hint to reschedule. The customer they moved to accommodate me arrived and they had to. wait an hour while my daughter-in-law got hers done, then she completely ignored me. She told me earlier the customers ahead of us gave her concert tickets. They did not have appointments, but they had concert tickets to exchange for our appointments. She took a bribe and gave others our spots. When I asked the receptionist if they would have time for mine, she said she had no idea. This was at 6pm. The artist walked right past me to her rescheduled client and said nothing. Nice customer service. Read Less

About a month before heading to Las Vegas I contacted Black Spade Tattoo via email letting them know about the tattoo my wife and I was interested in getting. They quickly responded and made me an appointment that was at the end of my vacation. I have been tattoo'd 10 times in my life... but the experience we had at Black Spade Tattoo was in a different league all together. Getting a tattoo can be really intimidating but the artists in the black train made me feel instantly at ease, confident in my decision, and as though they were legitimately exited to see us. Their friendly and welcoming demeanour was so calming. The ambiance all around was beautiful, the building, the cleanliness, the decor; all of it so appeali...ng. It is the kind of place I think anyone would feel at home. As for the skills? King Ruck drew up the words I wanted in the most beautiful freehand font I have ever seen (and I have looked at a LOT of fonts). He is such a natural talent, and when you mix that with his genuine awesome personality you get a real gem of a tattoo artist He took the time and attention needed to do work that will last. The high level of pride he takes in his work is beyond evident. There are not enough words to say how impressed I was. I will remember this experience for all my days. I've been periodically getting tatted by Ruck since I got my first tattoo in June of 2015. In total, he's done 4 of my tattoos. Every time I've brought in a picture, my tattoo has turned out better than said picture. Aside from being a bomb artist, the conversation never runs out with Ruck! My most recent tattoo took about three hours; between Ruck, myself, my friend who came along, and his apprentices, I don't think we stopped talking. Good conversation definitely helps the time pass with larger pieces. Overall, this shop has always had a very warm and welcoming vibe. In other shops, I've found the staff to be snobby or unapproachable, and that's simply not the case here- literally everyone is nice. I think it goes without saying that I'll be back soon! Read Less

Was in Vegas last week and my wife and I wanted to get paired forearm tats for my birthday. Most places we checked were either not accepting walk-ins or were charging $250/hr, so we decided we weren't gonna bother. Our first night in town we went to go checkout Container Park (That mantis, right?!) and spotted Black Spade's new location in the train (not that we knew it was a NEW location at the time). ... Loved the look of the place so we had to check it out. They were doing a low key soft-open at the time so we were able to get in after only an hour or so (wandered around and found Siegel's 1941, so had a good dinner there then headed back). My husband and I went to Vegas for my husband's 50th birthday. He wanted a tattoo. We spent some of the 4 days we were in Vegas looking for a place to get a tattoo done. All were really expensive and didn't look the cleanest. We happened to walk to container park down by Fremont St. on our last day and saw a really cool looking train that was a tattoo shop. We had a concert to attend and the shop was closing at 10pm. The concert wasn't going to get done until after they clos...ed. I was visiting Las Vegas from Denver with some friends and we decided to get tattoos to remember the occasion! We called and Risa was able to get us an appointment with just 24 hours notice. All 4 of us got something different, and we are all very happy with how they turned out! They let us all hang out in the shop with our luggage and everything since we were going straight to the airport after we finished. From 6/2/16I came in for a consultation, and to talk about getting a cover up. Black Spade Tattoo is located in DTLV next to that awesome bakery Donut Bar. After talking over a few things I needed to get done I was very impressed with how they do business. For my cover up all I have to do is email them my old tattoo, what kind of tattoo I am looking for and go from there.
