Came to Vegas from Canada to get some work done with Hiram. Could not be happier with my tattoo. We sat for a little over seven hours and he was still focused nearing the end. I applaud him for the dedication. He whipped out a portrait of my late grandfather in one session. This place is a scam! These artists milk you for your money! I was only quoted 3-4 hours for my piece. Long story short I ended up with 2 sessions @7 hours a piece. I sat solid both sessions and I dont like breaks, so the length of the tattoo was out of my control. What was supposed to be an $800 tattoo turned out to be almost double on account of the artist.  I even clarified through phone call and message twice about the time frame beforehand. I can understand If it was over by 3 maybe 4 hours, but 10 hours extra!!?? My advice is Save your money and do some research, there is a lot of great HONEST artists out there, dont get cheated like I did. Read Less

After lots and lots of tattoo artist hunting I ended up at this place. Setting up an appointment through Yelp was a breeze. I knew what I wanted and they scheduled me two days later, perfect. Masu did my tattoo and being my first tattoo she made me feel very comfortable. I pay a lot of attention to fine detail and this is why I chose Masu, because she seems to be very detailed in her pieces and her lines are perfectly straight..Haha ( I know, lol it just makes me nervous) but she handled it like a breeze. After much research (I'm talking MONTHS of research) I came across Basilica. Hiram's skills are amazing! My tattoo is just beautiful and I'm so happy I chose to go to him. He took his time to help me find just the right portrait. Then we talked in detail about what I wanted the face design to look like. This tattoo parlor is awesome! Not only they people here are friendly but the place itself looks so fancy and inviting. I've contacted them through e-mail to get a quote and schedule to meet the tattooist before setting an appointment and Nick got back to me very quick. I've known Nick from a different shop (where he pierced me) and he's a great guy so when he mentioned Basilica to me I had to check it out! I had plan to get a tattoo by Vic, his works are very colorful and vibrant and that's exactly what I was looking for. I came in to meet him and discuss my tattoo idea and he was super chill and attentive so it was great and I knew for sure I had the right artist, he's very customer service oriented and his main goal seems to be to give his clients not only a great tattoo but also a great experience.So I did schedule my appointment and everything went smooth, it took us a long time to come up with a design I liked and he was very patient going back and forth between ideas and making adjustments. We split my tattoo in two sessions so I still need to go back and finish it but I'm so confident it'll be absolutely amazing once it's all done! This place is one of the nicest shops I have been to. I was in town for a work trip and the first day is usually just for traveling in. I had waited over a year for my tattoo appointment with Vic. My District just got a new boss and he decided to have us all meet up on travel day. Totally ruined my plans. I emailed the shop and was told that I would probably have to reschedule. I was heart broken, but not in any way upset with the shop. This was my own problem. I received an email later saying that Vic was willing to work with me so that I wouldn't have to reschedule. This meant a lot! I was extremely grateful. He was able to get a good amount done in this session, so much that people are shocked that it's not quite complete. I'll def be returning on my own time so that I'm not having to rush. I feel awful for rushing the process but grateful that Vic was patient and understanding. Absolutely the best experience getting a tattoo yet. While planning a vacation to Las Vegas my wife and I decided to get tattoos while we were in town. With only a couple of weeks lead time we were able to schedule appointments with Dwight "Bulb" at Basilica Tattoo. The experience was top notch to say the least.I started out inquiring about a specific tattoo design and emailed them through the website contact form. Instead of just saying they could do what I wanted, Nick was up front that the design I was looking to have done could not be done during the time we were in town based on availability of the artist that specialized in the type I was looking for. He indicated that Dwight had availability if there was a design that matched his speciality. It just so happened that I was also looking for a sugar skull tattoo and that happened to be one of the types that Dwight specializes in. My wife also wanted a tattoo of a realistic butterfly and he was available for that as well. We exchanged ideas over email prior the appointment and left a lot of freedom to Dwight to come up with a design that would meet what we asked for.The day of the appointment came, we showed up and he had drawn up both of our ideas. The only change to the butterfly was a little change in size. The only change in my sugar skull was a simple change to the eyes. We left the color choices up to him and he started the process. For my wife's butterfly, he went with colors that she would not have chosen for herself. However, after he explained skin tone and the reasoning behind his color choices, it turned out better than she could've ever hoped. My design was applied and he adapted as he completed the piece with color choice and shading options. By leaving him the leeway to utilize his artistic talents and the freedom to adapt, we both ended up with absolutely amazing pieces that we couldn't be happier with.I would suggest Basilica to anyone in the Vegas area looking for tattoo work. The price was fair and treatment was top notch. From the moment we walked in the door they make you feel very comfortable and treat you like family. Greeting you as you walk in is Nick, shop Manager, the artist right hand man and your go to guy for anything you need to make your visit at the shop the best it can be. Nick has an infectious smile and is very professional. Vic is shop owner, super friendly guy. Dwight is so light hearted and quick to laugh. I feel like I should refer to Christian as the ...shops bad boy but that's just not the case, he's actually super chill and down to earth. And of course there is Noelin. I have two pieces done by him. One was a pre existing large stomach piece that he reworked and brought to life and a full sleeve that is absolutely beautiful. Noelin is relaxed, humble, thoughtful and is a joy to be around. All the guys here support and encourage each other and have a common goal of constantly improving and moving forward in the art of tattooing. The shop its self is beautifully decorated. Sophisticated and upscale yet relaxing. Everything is always clean including the bathroom. Music has differed each time I've been in but has always been at a comfortable listening level. I got a Cover up with Dwight I came in with an idea of an old style ankelet and was pretty set on what I wanted. I'm working on my succulent and cactus arm with Vic. The realism of his work speaks for itself, I saw it on IG and was in shock of how good it is. This is my first tattoo and so far the whole process has been a positive experience. He's quiet but easy going, been patient with me through it all. The rest of the guys here (Noelin, Christian and Dwight) are also friendly and crazy talented. This is the type of shop you go to for unique, high end art work and will get busier and busier as people find out about it. This shop is very clean, has a nice atmosphere and comfortable good vibes. I am currently working on my first tattoo, a sleeve, with Vic Vivid. Everything so far has been wonderful. I've been wanting tattoos for a long time, but held off until I had a career that allowed it, the money for actual art and wasn't a stupid kid getting impulsive bullshit. I did my research and got to emailing. The problem with going for a lot of prestigious tattooers is they're too busy for customer service and need someone to do that yet many don't have someone manning their appointments. Many of my emails have still gone unanswered. I originally was doing a different subject on my leg, bit found that what I want for a sleeve fits the style of art Vic Vivid does.   I get a response within the day from his shop manager, Nick. We email back and forth and by the end of the day I have a consultation that weekend. I loved the shop - it's beautiful dark walls, gold gilded baroque, chandeliers... It's one of the prettiest shops. It's very clean, and the vibe was just good about it. One thing I like is that while it is open, it's spacious so there's not this feeling that everyone is just so close to each other. I like that there's some feeling of comfort by giving people moving room. Vics really cool and seemed to like my project which I think makes for a better tattoo when they like what they're doing. It felt right so I put in for an appointment and left a deposit. He seems to be booked at least 6 months out so not years to get in, but still a wait. Usually his Instagram (@vicvivid) will let you know what month is currently open to book. His rate is not cheap, but also not the highest I've heard, either way you get what you pay for. Stop getting cheap shitty tattoos and having to laser and cover later! I did my research  on tattoo communities and people there were confident I'd be happy with the end result, he has a good reputation for solid work. I even found former clients online and saw their healed tattoos- they look amazing! I was so nervous for my first appointment. He first got a picture of my arm and started playing on the computer with some references and putting it on the arm to get an idea of what were doing. Then he made the stencil, we looked at how it sat on my arm and got to doing a colored outline. He specializes in photo realism so there's no black out lines so I have a color outline on my arm. He does both black and grey and color realism but the way he does color I think sets him apart. The saturation and color choices are striking! All the other guys at the shop were also super cool. They came over to see what was going on and were friendly and made me feel better about my nervousness. I would most definitely recommend them too as they have talent and are good people. They were giving each other a hard time and their banter was keeping me entertained. It's a positive environment and seems like they're a team here. You're going to spend so much time with your artist and at the shop that a good vibe and liking the people there I think is important. Talent only goes so far... I wouldn't want to sit where I didn't feel good about. I've been to a few that made me feel I should walk back out.  I didn't sit with my stepdad at his last tattoo because the artist was hella scummy. I cannot wait to get this project finished! I'm going to have a beautiful arm. It's a long process, but I know I'm in good hands here.  Will update after all my appointments are done, but this is everything I would want out of a first time experience! I really like this spot I am thinking I might just stick to here for my other arm too. If you're looking for a place to do larger unique pieces this is a great shop to go to. I had Vic Vivid do my tattoo and he's amazing! It's so good it looks like an actual picture on my arm. I didn't know tattoos could look so good till I started following vic on instagram. I don't even know where to begin for this review. Dwight is my artist he has put some beautiful tattoos on both my husband and I over the last couple years. Dwight is an amazingly talented original artist not only that he's amazing with cover ups he reworked my main backpiece into an absolute work of art and is currently doing another cover up on the lower half of my back. Anatomical hearts and roses are his specialty highly recommend him if that's what you are looking for. His color saturation is phenomenal. Next this shop.... it's drop dead gorgeous. The ceiling tiles and lighting transform you. Vic's vision is original and warm and inviting.
