I've had two ankle pieces done at this tattoo shop, both done by Lance. I've had them both for over a year, the color is holding perfectly. My healing process was super quick and I love the outcome of both pieces. Everyone in this shop is so friendly and professional and their work is always epic. 1. Let's start with rude. As a tattoo artist you are in the customer service business being polite is handy, especially if you want to be tipped. 2. This is not my first rodeo with being tattooed. I've been tattooed all over my person from artists all over this beautiful country of ours and by far this is the worst place I have ever been to. 3. Doesn't care about your tattoo. You spent less than 5min drawing out my tattoo, it was crooked. When I asked you to fix it you huffed and puffed & started to argue with me about what I am putting on my body! I should have left. 4. Rude, when someone asks you to fix the stencil, which you put on poorly do not disagree with whom you are tattooing. That should have been a tipoff too.5. Yes your lines and colors were nice. However, it would be a lot nicer if the ink stayed!!!6. Less than a week and the ink started to disappear!!! 7. I now have to pay a real tattoo artist to fix what you didn't do. Yes it is my fault. I did not leave when I should, I should have listened to my gut instinct but instead I decided to give you a chance. I am an artist and I believe in supporting other artists. However, you are not an artist. You're a hack just trying to make money. I have learned my lesson and if anybody asks about you or the shop I will tell them to go elsewhere. I seriously am blown away with the level of service I received from Sean. After some searching, and recommendations from two friends, I went in to see Sean about a cover up. I had in mind what I wanted to do, and he explained how it wouldn't be the best option for a cover up. He took the time to ask what else I liked and went with it! After a few phone calls and visits, he drew up something that I loved. Its still a work in progress, as I have another visit to finish it. I could not be happier with the results in covering up a mistake I made 20 years ago. 3 of my very good friends and I had been wanting matching tattoos for over 1 year. For 3 of us it would be our first tattoo. On a trip to Virginia city on July 28th 2015 we pulled into the Ruby Lantern tattoo parlor with out a appointment (LANCE) saw to it we got helped. The four of us wanted matching heart tattoos on our fingers. Lance explained that finger tattoos can not be guaranteed and would have to be touched up in a year or so. We discussed price and Lance explained the minimum price for any size tattoo was $60.00 even for a extra small tattoo less then 3/4 of an inch. We all agreed and started the process. We were all very pleased with the out come off our new art work. Until several days later after we got home (to the San Francisco Bay Area )I posted pictures of my heart tattoo right after I got it and a picture of the tattoo 10 days later. It has almost completely faded. All four of our heart tattoos have drastically faded. We read reviews on yelp before pulling into the parking lot and liked what we read. Completely satisfied with the customer service and artistry of this tattoo shop. On a whim went looking for a tattoo parlor and just before 7pm on a Saturday night Ruby was the only one willing to take me. As a Bay Area native wasn't used to people closing up shop so early and was a little sketchy at first for the only place close that was still available. But all in all they were sweet and kind and I got one pretty foot tattoo. Thank you guys at Ruby Lantern. You will have my good references and if I ever feel the need for another tat I will not hesitate to make an appt with you. Read Less

This shop is totally AWESOME! All of the artists are excellent. The vibe in the shop is extremely comfortable and easy going. All of the guys were super friendly and positive. My tattoo exceded my expectations by far. The artist really listened to me and created a beautiful one of a kind piece of art that I completely love. Great! After having been to several shops in the Reno/Carson area, this one is my favorite. They're always friendly when you walk in the door instead of acting like they have better things to do. There is enough positive socializing going on in the shop that it's easy to not concentrate on your tattoo if you're getting some particularly painful work done. Recommended! Read Less

Very sterile environment...cleanliness is definitely priority here! I have had tat's done by Ricket & Eleanor both, and I would 100% go back! They both have done very nice detail work, as well as being very open and positive about my ideas! I have seen other work done by the other artists there as well and it has always been quite amazing! I love this place!  Not only are the extremely talented, they are professional and leave out the bullshit attitude that you find in other various shops in the reno/carson area.  Clean work and unique styles as well as comfortable and private areas to get tattooed.  The bar next door is a plus as well, helps with the "healing process".
