The artists are very kind and patient, I know I wasn't a very easy customer on my second tattoo, a fox (on my ribs, I'm not the brightest) but he understood my pain and was willing to give me breaks. My first tattoo was way overpriced, but I can understand it because I was a walk-in right before they closed (I was with a friend getting hers done, then decided to get one). Went in asked for something in color. ... paid 100 for him to draw nothing. Asked two times over email if he could send me a picture of what he did to what i gave him (mandala). First told me the original color wouldn't work I asked for a turquoise ( light blue and green right?) he told me a flat no and that I mint green would work better. I replied back to really preferring the color i wanted... with no response. Showed up to get the tattoo.. Black and white. wow. complete disappointment. and didn't come down on the price quoted (quoted with color) that he said would take 3 hours to do ended up getting down in 1.5 hours. Thought for sure after i didn't get color at all he just filled in black (for $100) ?? and time was significantly shorter I should of been discounted. but got to the counter and he said $300 i was like wow. never come back here again. fail. I've always been a fan until now. Especially after being told the tattoo had to be done larger by a rude/condescending guy that said he wouldn't touch it for $80. . I've never had a bad experience there until today and will definitely be keeping my business elsewhere from now on. I got it done for $60 and the quality is better than any work I've ever had at Dr. Jacks. I would definitely do your research. As I had done and felt 100% disrespectful. Read Less

This review is late but still important! I went to get snake bites done and I was nervous! I wasn't sure what to expect but I felt safe here, every employee I met was realy cool and kind to. When I  finally met the person doing my piercing I felt really comfortable about getting my piercings done. He was funny but processional, really knowledgeable and answered all my questions. I walked into Dr. Jacks for my first Tattoo last Friday night (Sept 23, 2016).  I swore up and down I would never get a tattoo, but had tried a temporary one when I was on vacation and decided I would get one.  I gave the tattoo artist a picture of what I wanted and he went to work (I had it placed on my leg).  He made me feel so at ease and reassured me that it would turn out the way I wanted it to.  I have to say, it was the best experience I've ever had in my life and was just a little uncomfortable; totally not what I expected at all as far a pain goes!! What can I say about Dr. Jacks? First of all, wow! The place is so clean and inviting and the artists are insanely nice. I called this morning asking if I could get a tattoo today, and they fit me in, which I thought was extremely cool. The artists are professional as well as laid back and easy to talk to. The last tattoo I got from another shop ended up infected and is in terrible shape, so I told my artist that I was a little scared of getting a new ink. He was so gentle and kind and made the whole process smooth and effortless. I think the whole tattooing portion took like 10 minutes max (I got a very simple design). I highly recommend this shop and the amazing artists. I've already booked my next appointment to fix my messed up ink from a Council Bluffs tattoo shop that will not be named. Read Less

I don't remember the name of the guy who did my septum piercing and my husband's double Monroe, but he was very nice. We had these piercings done like 2 years ago now, but I wasn't on yelp at that time. I have a horrible pain tolerance and I'm a big chicken. I've had numerous piercings and delivered two babies for crying out loud, but the needles.. They get me every time! I have a history of seizures and usually they're brought on by pain. I discussed this with the guy who did the work for us and he was very nice and gentle, well as gentle as you can be shoving a needle through someone. Haha. When he was done I started to get the feeling I get when I'm about to pass out, and he gave me a glucose tab that helped. I appreciated that he had them on hand for those situations.The only thing I didnt like was the room was really dark. When he marked hubbies lip before piercing, he had him look in the mirror first to check if it was even. We couldn't really tell, and it ended up a little uneven but nothing noticeable unless you knew. Not a bad shop, the people are nice, just make sure your stuff is even. (: Read Less

I just got very first tattoo ever here today. I'm actually from Michigan, but was in Omaha to visit family. I very highly recommend this place! They're super clean and very hygienic. Aaron Kyle was the artist that did mine, as well as matching tattoos for my mom and sister. He was really nice, knowledgeable, thorough, and is a very talented artist. And if you're a bit of a nerd and appreciate other nerds he's a nerd too (that got him bonus points from me and immediately eased nerves). If I were ever to want to get another tattoo when visiting in Omaha again I would for sure go to Aaron Kyle in a heartbeat. Read Less

I stopped into the shop and showed Canada what o was wanting for a tattoo!  He said he would draw something up and be ready by my appointment.  I added a few changes to the tattoo and I emailed him and he added the add ons.  I was going in to get my five year cancer free tattoo.  Canada did an amazing job on the tattoo it was more than i even imagined. It perfectly tells the story of my journey.  I have showed people the tattoo who are anti tattoo and they love it!  I will never go anywhere else to get my tattoos.  If you are thinking about getting a tattoo stop in and talk to Canada you won't be disappointed!!! Went here with my younger sister for her first cartilage piercing. Aaron was a fantastic piercer! He was friendly and talked to my sister, me, and my mom, and put all of us at ease. He kept things quick and clean, and it took only 20 minutes tops (including paperwork time and going over aftercare)Definitely a great experience, and my sister will probably come back for more piercings.
