The staff was really friendly however I got my bellybutton pierced there last Tuesday I didn't notice anything wrong until the next day when it seemed a bit swollen I realized the piercer didn't put a belly piercing in it at all or anything with room for it to heal instead he put a short barbell that tightened on my piercing leaving it irrated short story it got infected and I had to take it out even though I did everything the piercer said and cleaned it with said products my friend that got her ear done he argued about what kind of jewelry she said she would heal better with. I went to get my septum pierced and had an awesome time. The guys up front were friendly and encouraging. The wait was pretty short, maybe 10 minutes if that. Dave did my piercing. He was understanding when I told him that I was nervous and talked me through the whole thing. He is so friendly and personable. Everything was clean and he made quick work of the process so I didn't have too long to dwell on my nerves. It's been almost a decade since I got my last tattoo and I finally decided to go in for more ink so I decided to look at the shops here in Omaha. After doing some searching I found Jason Morrow at Big Brain and I was attracted to his black and grey style of tattoos. My experience from first walking into the door all the way to the healing process of my tattoo has been extremely positive. Everyone there is always really nice and chill and none of the guys in the shop have been rude to me, even when it is super busy. This place, undeniably, has amazing artists. However, they also seem to know that and certainly don’t hesitate to let you know either. Unfortunately, their amazing art didn’t win me over enough to accept their egos and being treated like I was an idiot. Another guy said it well “they seem to get annoyed when you ask questions” and as he mentioned the piercings are always 5 stars. While I can respect them as professionals that have much more knowledge in the art of tattooing than I do... I can’t really start any more big pieces here because it’s hard for me to get on the same page with the artists and the front desk guys without feeling like I’m bothering them. I know plenty of other amazing artists that seem to genuinely take concern and interest in what their client wants.... not just tell you what they would do and give you the option to basically take it or leave it. I got my first tattoo from Big Brain by Chris. He free handed it and it still looks amazing to this day. After moving back to the Midwest I took my wife to Big Brain where she started on her sleeve with Nick Kelly. It is a beautiful piece of art. I got my memorial tattoo for a fallen brother in the Army by Bryan who is also a Vet and he took my vision and made it into a masterpiece. I have gotten two pieces from Brian and one from Nick. My daughter's for their first tatt...oos got them from Chris who stayed late to do a nice matching sisters piece. My middle daughter got her Dr. Who piece from Brian and my youngest got her second one from Lenny. I am scheduling a piece with Jason next to do a piece in honor of my grandfather and grandmother. These guys are almost like family. They know we are dedicated to them and in return they are dedicated to us. They have always gone out of their way to make us feel welcome. They give back to their clients and to the community. They are not your typical tattoo shop, this place puts a lot of effort into making everyone feel like they belong. Coming from across the country, and only using one artist for as long as I can remember.. I haven't taken the plunge on getting ink done here. I did however have both nipples pierced, and minus the obvious initial wtf pain/sting from getting them both in one sitting.. it was a good experience. Clean place, friendly staff (and nothing personal against BB - yes can be cocky or come off rude because they know their shit, plus probably deal with over reactive attitude all day).. ...they're awesome. Hell, they even have a condom bowl for people to have safe sex (wherever you choose to do it, but with protection). I have a metal allergy, but didn't have issues other than one of them rejecting. But we knew from the start the one that rejected could possibly do it, so it wasn't a surprise. Just disappointed in my nipple. Okay so, first piercing I ever decided to get was my nipples. Go big or go home right? � I had Kyle back in September, the experience was GREAT!!! He talked me through it, even helped me with my breathing for while he was piercing me! Let me take a break in between the two, and told me a hilarious story that calmed my nerves a little bit. The lack of care started from the minute I walked in. The receptionist would not even look up from the counter when I scheduled my appointment, nor when I came back, and my tattoo artist did not even try to talk to me throughout the process despite me saying this was my first tattoo--this includes telling me how to care for it (by the way, their methods for cleaning it contradicted any method recommended on numerous sources online.) My tattoo artist actually did not engage me in any sort of conversation save for "where's it go" until I tipped him and was leaving. When I got home and cleaned my tattoo myself, I saw he missed numerous places to fill it in AND he shaded outside the outlines he made. (This was just a black tattoo, kind of hard to do....) A month ago I got an industrial piercing done by Kyle. I was super nervous but he was good at distracting me. The piercings hurt like a bitch. Then, the industrial piercing wouldn't stop bleeding and I went back and Dave helped me clean it up and gave me a stronger disinfectant. Very nice people. I wouldn't get pierced anywhere else. I've gotten technically 2 tattoos here but the second one was just expanding the first. I honestly forget who did them since this was 8 years ago, but the color is still vibrant and solid on them and the experience (my first tattoo) was pretty good. The guy who did them was kind and It really didn't hurt. Maybe that was due to the fact it's on my upper shoulder? Who knows. My ONLY complaint is the price. the first one was the flower itself he charged me $80 for it, I dunno if he cut me a deal because he felt sorry for me or what but when I went back to have my husband's name and 3 lines added he changed me another $80 saying it was a fair price. Make sure to make an appointment if you are wanting a tattoo. Piercing need no appointment. I came in to get a very tricky piercing changed out.
