I had my first experience with Scarlet Raven Tattoo last night after receiving several recommendations from friends about the quality of service they provide. It's been quite a few years since I had my last tattoo done - mainly because I had a couple of bad experiences with tattoo artists who were less than kind. I contacted Scarlet Raven and was connected with Tyler, who would be my artist. When I arrived for my session, Tyler had already put some ideas together for my tattoo based off the information I had given him about what I wanted. What he had come up with was great, however, it wasn't what I was looking for. Tyler was so open to talking it through with me though. We sat for a little while and worked out every detail of how my tattoo would be. Not once did he try to pressure me to do something that I didn't want done with it. He was patient and kind about how he explained why he thought a different font than the one I had chosen would be a better option, he revised some of the lettering to make it look better, and even free handed a part of it so it would be just right. During the tattoo process Tyler and I just chatted away. He made me feel so comfortable. Before I knew it, he was done! Cody, the owner, peeked in a couple of times and checked on us. He is so nice as well! I think that's what impressed me the most - just the genuine kindness of the artists. The atmosphere of the shop is quirky yet inviting. As someone who has had tattoos done at a few different shops and had a few different artists, this experience with Tyler at Scarlet Raven was by far the best. I would definitely recommend this shop to anyone looking to get a tattoo - whether it's your first or your 50th.

Feel bad that Scarlet Raven has 1 Yelp Review and it's a negative one so I want to add my 2 cents. I chose Scarlet Raven for my first tattoo cause it was close to my house. My first time there I was nervous but I was quickly put at ease. Getting my first tattoo at Scarlet Raven was a positive experience so I came back for 3 more.Ian did all 4 of my tattoos and I couldn't be more happy with the results. I love talking about and showing off my tattoos to those who ask about them. I've never been caught off guard when it came to the pricing and I consider the prices very reasonable. The artwork on display adds to the creative and individualistic like atmosphere of the place. My interactions with the owner and the other artists have all been positive and I've always been made to feel comfortable. They make sure to send you out the door with proper aftercare instructions and to send a follow up email about your tattoo. If you are looking to get a tattoo, then you should definitely visit Scarlet Raven Tattoo.

Hate that I am the first to review and it's a bad review. A group of 5 of us made an appointment a month out (some were had to travel from out of town) and apparently there was no point to make that appointment since they didn't plan accordingly. We were suppose to have two artists, only one showed up and attempted to tattoo us all in a row (10 hours straight). It was requested to have all tattoos sent to artist 2 weeks before so they would be prepared. 2 of our group stopped in a few weeks out to talk about tattoo, and the owner was rude and wouldn't help because he wasn't making the money. Unprofessional start, we should have walked away at that point. Prices were all over the place, even though we all had similar designs. Tattoo artist wasn't able to apply my design on straight and it shouldn't be the customer that explains how to apply to skin. I do have many tattoos, so maybe I have more experience but if you're applying a tattoo shouldn't you check how it looks standing straight versus having your arm raised. At the point I reduced size of my tattoo by 75% because it was obvious a mistake would have been made and tattoos are permanent. My price wasn't adjusted due to size change, whatever I didn't complain but when the artist can't handle the job, the customer shouldn't have to pay the price of original tattoo. It's still a little crooked, but only if you look close. My advice is find a great artist and go to them. The one artist was nice and worked well with our group. Very overwhelmed and we requested and told there would be 2 artists but that didn't happen. Don't get a walk in tattoo here, there might be decent artists on site but I'd keep looking

I had my first experience with Scarlet Raven Tattoo last night after receiving several recommendations from friends about the quality of service they provide. It's been quite a few years since I had my last tattoo done - mainly because I had a couple of bad experiences with tattoo artists who were less than kind. I contacted Scarlet Raven and was connected with Tyler, who would be my artist. When I arrived for my session, Tyler had already put some ideas together for my tattoo based off the information I had given him about what I wanted.
