I got a piece done here a couple weeks ago, and I was extremely nervous as I really didn't want this tattoo to be fucked up in any way. Though they got me in the day after I called and I decided to just shoot for it, because I'm new to the area and wasn't sure how'd I'd ever be comfortable with a tattoo shop knowing nothing about any of them here. I was pleasantly surprised when I got there and saw how clean everything looked and all the well done drawings on the wall. The guy who did my tattoo was very nice making sure everything was just how I wanted it before he laid the piece down and started with the ink. I absolutely love my tattoo, my mom (who is not into tattoos at all) even was impressed and said it was beautifully done. It's a little spendy with the base price for getting a tattoo being $100 where most places are around $50-$60 but their work is amazing. Touch ups are free. The only complaint I have is if you haven't been here before or in awhile the address has changed and is not the same one that is on here. Their new address is 2914 1st Ave. N located downtown and is now named Black Dagger. I would most definitely recommend this place to a friend or anyone needing some new ink. Read Less

I have been a customer of Black Dagger (and, formerly, Black Sparrow) Tattoo for almost 6 years. I've been tattooed by all three owners, and I could not be happier with the result. They have created a clean and comfortable environment in their new location, and it is pleasant and welcoming to be tattooed there. Not only do they listen to your ideas for a tattoo or suggest the incredible works from their posted flash, but they make the piece suit the person; both through placement and customization. I took my son their and while I was there I was impressed that while doing the tattoo they were very careful about their cleaning process and the work that they did. While I was there several people came in with bad tattoos and wanted to see if they could fix or make the existing tattoo better. They always said that they could but when it came down to it the people left because they wanted it for a cut rate. Isn’t that what got them the bad tattoo in the first place. When these people left the artist at Bad Sparrow where always frustrated that people go out and get bad tattoos done and then want to have it corrected by someone on the cheap. By the way I thought the fee was very reasonable.The guys at black sparrow are serious artist who are always looking to improve their art. The work they did on my son was excellent! I was very impressed on the work and the attention to detail. My son loves the new tat and he would go back to them. If I was going to get one that’s where I would go. Black Sparrow has a huge reputation from people who have lots of tatoo’s. If your looking for a place to fee warm and fuzzy and get a cheap tattoo don’t go to the Black Sparrow, but if you want something that’s going to look good for the rest of your life then pay the going rate and go see a professional artist at Black Sparrow. I came in and was not greeted. I sat and waited for two hours only to have them help some one else who came in after me. When I asked them when I could be helped they told me to come back the next day. Terrible service. Terrible attitudes. Never going there again. There are plenty of other good places to go get a tattoo where the artists are friendly. Read Less
