Waited over 12 years to get my first Navy tattoo and when i brought my wife in to get a piercing i knew this was the perfect place to get it! Old school feel with real artists doing the work. Bo did my tattoo like it was on his own arm. Spent almost 6 hours on it with maybe one break. He was very meticulous and took his time. Got every detail right. Jimbo did my tattoo, which looks absolutely beautiful. Being my first one he was very awesome with making sure I was doing okay and if I needed a break. Bo did my nose and daith piercings. With my daiths, I'd gone to the Ink Spot in Troy where they didn't pierce them correctly, didn't give me an aftercare sheet, or even speak with me about what to do. My experience with Bo was a complete 180. He pierced them correctly, gave me an aftercare sheet, the tools to correctly take care of them, and went in depth with explaining what I should do. I've had nothing but great experiences with Bo and his staff. He fixed a horrible tattoo that I had and now looks awesome, ask him to see the angel pictures before and after. I also just got a daith piercing in both ears because of massive migraines. The last one was 4 days long and I had to take excessive migraine everyday just to survive every other day for years now. My experience here was absolutely phenomenal! Every staff member there was extremely friendly and made me feel at home and at ease. You could tell how much they care about their clients. I'm still a minor, and I only got piercings done this trip, but no one made me feel judged for being young, unpierced, and uninked. This was my first time getting anything done that I didn't do to myself, and I got... my triple lobes and my cartilage pierced by Bo (who has been doing piercing for 24 years now.) I have been to several other shops, this being one of them. The people there were all very pleasant and answered all of my questions. They made me feel welcome and talked to me about my tattoo ideas. In the end several of my friends and I have been back more than once to get ink. I have tried to wash my tattoos with other soaps and have found that they don't help prevent scabs from forming on my tattoo. I talked to my Dr about using dawn, he said that 85% of what your body exudes during healing is fatty. He thinks that dawn would be a perfect cleaning substance to avoid painful scabs from forming on your tattoo. I was pleased to see that everyone there washes down the entire station after each procedure. Being in the medical field I can say that most Dr's offices do not clean as thorough. I walked in the shop interested in a tattoo, the whole hallway and stairwell were junky and reeked of pot. When I actually got into the place, while the staff wasn't rude or anything, they didn't make me feel very welcome. Their portfolios aren't bad, but considering they are bragging to be the oldest shop this side of the river, well, their art sure doesn't show that they've been doing this for years. A few different friends of mine have gotten piercings here and they have all gotten infected the very next day even though they followed the care sheets that Ultimate gave them. This was the first place I ever went for a tattoo. You'd think that if you have so much 'history' in a town that you would be a great place to go. I am sad to announce that was not the case. I went a got an ambigram and I got so much crap from the 'artists' for picking a lame tattoo. I was naive so I let it go. Now looking back at it, I wish I had walked out. plus the tattoo look like crap and has the most terrible blow outs. And I have it forever.Not to mention telling people to use dawn dish soap on a tattoo is the worst idea ever. Dawn cuts grease and helps for the ducks in oil spills. He was conscientous about my well being and the amount of pain associated with such a large piece. Beau was recommended to me by a friend and I've made the same recommendation to friends of mine who are looking for new art or to have existing pieces updated or improved. I have 7 tattoos and all were done by Ultimate Artform Tattoo artists. I have won 3 awards on one of the tattoos that Bo did. They are very sympathetic to your needs if you are new to tattoos. I wouldn't go anywhere else for my tattoos or piercings. I have a 17 yr old that is wanting to get a tattoo and I told him the only place that I would take him would be to Bo or Mike. I also have a 16 yr old wanting to get her belly button pierced and told her the same thing. So, whoever it is that said they are the worst shop is full of it. I have their work on me and know plenty of people that have had their work done there and won't go anywhere else. The Ultimate Art Form Tattoo Shop is the best shop around. I MUST write this review after reading what the other person wrote in their review. I have been going to this tattoo shop for quite awhile now and I know for a fact that the artist was NOT smoking while tattooing. There is no smoking inside the shop. You must go outside in the hall to smoke. I see the people who work there clean after every procedure. This shop has been open for nearly 15 years! I totally disagree what the other reviewer said about it being a biker tattoo shop, I'm not a biker and not everyone in there is a biker, but bikers DO get tattoos. They welcome everybody, all walks of life into their shop. They have a great reputation and the people who work there are great. If you can't find what you are looking for on the wall or in books, they can custom draw what you want, or you can bring in your own picture. Not many shops can do that. They have alot of jewelry to choose from for your piercings. When you get a new piercing, it includes the jewelry and after-care solution. You don't have to buy those seperate. I highly recommend this shop to anyone wanting to get a great tattoo at a reasonable price. Bo will take care of your tattoo and piercing needs. In fact, I seen a page on myspace showing their work.
