Well let’s see.... walked in with very simple ideas with my fiancé. This artist, who I’m assuming went by “Do-Boy” didn’t take our ID’s nor asked us to fill out paperwork. I could’ve been 17 years old getting tattooed because he didn’t care to be professional and have me fill out paperwork. My fiancé’s tattoo doesn’t look the best. The artist talked down on another tattoo of mine, which in fact is done very nicely. Oh and before we left he told us about this girl that would come to the shop and take her shirt off and he would molest her. His exact words “yeah she’d come over and I’d molest her.” We will never be back, I will never recommend this shop to anyone, if someone asks I will tell them my exact experience. Read Less

I have been getting tattooed at big easy for seven years, but I bet the owner doesn’t even know who I am. That’s the type of self absorbed ass the shop is owned by. I understand that tattoo shops have a stereotype for being a bit unorthodox, however the shop’s owner, Ty, on several occasions crossed into uncomfortable territory for me. The most recent time, I was in the chair, Ty and his son were there, and Ty made some comment to his son about “don’t be a baby like your mom.” It felt like Ty was a legit bully to his child. Which made me feel like I was in the middle of some erupting family feud. There were times while I was in the chair and Ty would storm in running his mouth about his wife. Using language that as adults we are all used to, but in a business, a business owned by him, it didn’t seem fitting. He would call his wife nasty things while I was sitting right there. Now I get that most of my money is going to my artist, who is fabulous and deserves it all, but it is troublesome to be providing patronage to a misogynist who blatantly talked crudely about his wife. I have now come to learn he has recently pulled a gun of his wife, which although saddens me, doesn’t surprise me. The temper on this man could only escalate to worse things. When Ty wasn’t berating his wife he was trying to avoid speaking about her because he was THAT tattoo artist who was trying to hit on female clients. Now, I have tattoos in places that require skin to show. And I expect the shop to be professional and respectful. The fact that not only a married man, but the owner of the shop, who you would hope would lead by example, did the opposite is disgusting. It’s unfortunate that female clients are subjected to the business owner making passes at them while they are trying to get tattooed. I have had amazing work done from amazing artist at big easy, but it seems their time is there has come to an end. I am excited to follow my artist to a new shop and thankful to be out of the negative environment that was brewing inside of big easy due to Ty and the drama he brought with him. Read Less

I was getting a tat there a couple weeks ago. Ty was there along with his son. He was tattooing someone while talking horribly about his ex or soon to be ex wife very and even he told his son to stop acting like his mother! I mean he was completely bashing her and calling her names all while his son could hear him. It’s not only very unprofessional to bring your personal life into your place of business but shows horrible character to speak like that about the other parent in front of and to your child. I find his demeanor very arrogant and unpleasant. He doesn’t welcome people when they come into the shop or smile or anything. He just doesn’t make you feel welcome. Sent the shops facebook page a message and was almost immediately replied to! I was wanting to get an appointment that was pretty short notice and Ty was more than happy to fit me in. He listened to my opinions and took multiple ideas I had then created it into my own little piece. Super friendly and easy to talk to. Has great taste in movies. We have been loyal patrons of this shop for years. Not only are the artists professionals, they are AWARD WINNING PROFESSIONALS. (Look them up.) They’ve always been friendly and top notch customer service keeps not only my family coming back, but people we have recommended as well. We’ve suggested them to quite a few and they’ve never disappointed any of the the ones we referred. Our total travel time to get to the shop is 6 hours round trip, and well worth it. My husband’s last tattoo was entered into competition, excellent work. We won’t go anywhere else. I had a terrible experience here that ended with me being chased and threatened. I was actually considering getting a tattoo here but when I asked about a story I saw in the Lincoln county journal, I was treated very unkindly to say the least. A friend of mine has gotten a couple of his tattoos from Travis. He did great work on his so I decided to go to him for my tattoo as well. I knew that I wanted a turtle (there is an inspirational story behind the turtle), but I didn't know exactly what I wanted but had a couple of ideas. Travis was able to put it together for me and I love it! I've gotten nothing but compliments on my tattoo! Everyone loves the colors. It has its PRO's and CON's like any other shop I got my 3rd tattoo done here and the guys were really nice. They provided my with the exact tattoo i wantedALTHOUGHthe tattoo is not centered on my back, its sits to one side. and as a non smoker, i was uncomfortable with the amount of smoke brakes were takenMy tattoo is all a scar. I am not creative when it comes to tattoo ideas. I knew I wanted a Boondock Saints tattoo because I wrote my film thesis on the script and aced it so it meant a lot. I went in and Travis blew me away with his work. He asked me questions then did went in the back and came back with a beautiful piece. It took five hours but thats because this guy puts every ounce of effort he has into his work. It looks AMAZING. I am moving to California and I have tried to look for other artists but none seem to come close and yes I know there are fantastic artists in Cali but Travis is awesome and he doesn't charge nearly what the art is worth, he charges way less. I have had 3 portraits and a sleeve done by Ty, my son has had several tattoos done by Matt and my wife has had a tattoo done by Travis and piercings done by Dustin and we have all experienced nothing but the best from each of them! They have great prices ... and deals that come up a lot. But they suggest cleaning a fresh piercing with Rubbing Alcohol...I just asked several people including Google. And everything says Rubbing Alcohol is bad for a piercing. Anything with alcohol is bad for a piercing. Not sure where they heard you could do this and be safe...but anywho. Love their employees.
