OK so I bought a very expensive water bong two days ago. I smoked out of it a couple times and I noticed water leaking from it. I never dropped it or hit it on anything at all and the clean separation of the glass is evidence of that. I called and spoke with Rick in the smoke shop. Needless to say he was a very rude man and absolutely refused any kind of return. I had to call back because he would not let me speak with the owner. Long story short. The owner was like 10 times worse as for his manners and being rude. He was so defensive after telling him what happened. It is so obvious that this is a common practice of theirs. Stopped by today as I had a little issue with my nose piercing due to movement and healing. I first spoke with Ben and thought I'd be on my way, but after some explaining and dissecting the issue he had me go to the back to check it out. Turns out it was great I stopped by or I may have lost my piercing. He was very kind, genuine, calming and  informative. I love this place! I've been coming here since college (which was over a decade ago) for all my piercings, and they've been great. These guys continue their education, know their stuff, and are always professional. They'll change your piercings for free too. Most recently, Ben pierced my nipples, and he did a great job. Love this place, great tattoo artists, friendly piercers, lots of great jewelry. A great place for a kid to get their ears pierced, my daughter loved it. I would give Kaleidoscope 5 stars they have a good atmosphere and a good selection a products for all the lines they carry. My problem lies with the staff and some of their attitudes. All of the female staff I dealt with were great had to deal with the manager Kim she gets 5 stars. Here's the deal I live an hour away each way my wife and I went in to get her septum pierced the older guy that helped us was rude it seemed like maybe it was due to how busy they were and it was just too much for him it seemed every time we asked to see something inside the glass case we were putting him out that was our first experience our second experience would be the next day the ball on my wife's horseshoe for her septum piercing fell off the first night my wife called spoke with Kim like I said Kim was awesome said come in and we'll make it right and give you a free ball and a discount on the next piece of jewelry the young guy we approached to help us told us it was first come first served so after driving an hour's time we had to wait in the store over an hour to have a piercer put a ball back on the jewelry we asked if we could leave to get a bite to eat and we're told we could lose our place in line first come first served you can see where my frustration comes from the ball shouldn't have fell off in the first place then being made to wait over an hour after driving an hour was just ridiculous my wife told the younger guy we were dealing with that Kim the store manager said we would not have to wait it's like it didn't even register with him he said first come first served was very short and rude about it I would be giving one or two stars if it wasn't for the rest of the staff making up 4 this one guy's attitude and unprofessionalism Read Less

Yes what great jewelry! And if you want to be treated like you're dirty and a thief then kaleidoscope is the shop for you! My wife went in looking for a nose ring and a regular ring, and was treated about as rudely as a customer could be treated! She asked to see a tray of nose rings and pointed at one to ask a question and was yelled at for touching one of the jewelry. The employee yelled "we don't touch! (After putting the tray in front of her)we use this other tray if you ...have questions". Shocked my wife asked (as if she should have been able to read minds) "so are those types of nose rings in that tray?" And then the employee explained "oh no those aren't on the display tray". My daughter recently had some piercing done. They were very knowledgeable, friendly, and clean. They were very busy that day and let us know that we would have about an hour wait. We just took our time looking around the shop and reading books. Once we got in to see Tim he discussed how to keep things clean. I have been there twice. I saw Shane for a piercing and Ben for both my nipples. Both Shane and Ben took the time to explain what they were going to do, talked through the procedures and talked about the after care. I never felt rushed. They both opened the sealed packages of needles and jewelry in front of me, wiped down the chair and equipment before and after, changed gloves and were in general very clean and sanitized. I don't like when people waste my time and that's what they did. Said to come in and they'd make me an appointment so I did. Went in and she looked at what I wanted then quoted me an outrageous price for a small "I Love You" quote my mom wrote. Then told me that it wouldn't even be til the next day that they could get to us even tho on the phone she said she had a spot open at 5. I've had 6 piercings done here, 4 by Ben, 2 by Eddie. Both guys are super nice and it's very clean. You can definitely go get piercings cheaper elsewhere but it's worth the extra $$ to ensure a good experience in a clean establishnent. I had lost a nose ring and was too lazy to go buy a new one for a few weeks. I'm sorta new to town but I drive by kaleidoscope every day on my way to work, so I figured I'd pop in one day on my way home. I walked in and was immediately distracted by all the fun novelty stuff, as well as how clean and organized the store was. I wandered over to the piercing counter and was promptly helped. I always get the same jewelry so I can't speak to how great the selection is, but they had exactly what I wanted and for cheaper than usual. Since my piercing had been out for a while, the girl at the counter recommended that I have the piercer insert it for me, so I roamed around and tried to talk myself out of buying yet another purse with skulls on it while I wait. A few minutes later, I was called back to the piercing room which was clean and everything the piercer did was hygienic. I was in, out and on my way in just a few minutes. The staff is very professional- in a head shop sometimes I think that people forget that there are constant and ever changing rules these folks have to keep up with so they stick to them. I recently got my first micro dermals done here by Qui Qui and I must say, out of all the piercings I've had over the years, he was definitely one of the best piercers I've had. He was very quick with the piercing itself (I actually got 2 done) so the pain was minimal as well as the bleeding and even hours after getting them done there was no pain or redness. This is the 2nd time I've gotten a piercing at Kaleidoscope and I will say they are very clean, friendly, and knowledgeable about what they're doing. Back in the late 90s/early 00s Kaleidoscope employed a piercer named Ryan, one of the hottest men ever to grace the Earth. I paid to have holes put in my navel, nipple and right ear cartilage just to have his beautiful, patchouli accented fingers touch me. Good old days.Since Ryan left and Kaleidoscope moved from the half-standing shack to the new place they have lost some of their edge. The old place had nag champa practically bleeding from the ceiling, walking up the rickety staircase to the piercing area and smoke shop meant taking your life in your hands, and the stereo system in the shack rocked, literally and figuratively. I'm sure they are still the best place in town for incense, 420 supplies, body jewelry, sex toys and racy pop-up cards featuring naked 500lb women eating birthday cake, but I'm afraid their true glory days are behind them.
