I brought in my own crappy drawing of what I was wanting and talked to Justin Sims about what I attempting to convey. He offered additional ideas and took my opinions seriously. Justin drew the perfect design. Justin's 20 years of tattooing experience shows in his attention to detail and his laid back attitude. I love Bleeding Hearts, got my very first tatto at 18 done in their shop an have been coming back. I had three piercings close up after my hysterectomy surgy and was super bummed. It's a joke bc we called and they said we could come on in and get a tattoo and we told them we were driving from an hour away so we wanted to make sure I could get in, once we got there they said they can't get me in.. so we went to blue springs to Triple Black tattoo and they got me in first thing. Awhile back I called Bleeding Heart to find out a little bit about the place & to inquire about getting a specific tattoo that had a very special meaning. The guy that answered was so helpful & answered all my questions. By the end of our conversation I knew that he was the one I wanted to do the tattoos. I can't thank Scott enough for not only doing such a great job, but for also allowing my daughters & I to share the special meaning behind our matching heart with wings tat...toos. I'd brought in a card that had a drawing that my daughter in Heaven had made. Scott traced the drawing so that our tattoos were my daughter's actual drawing. I also got an infinity sign with paw prints for my sweet ole 17 year old dachshund that's been by side since my daughter went to Heaven. I can't even say how much these tattoos mean to me. This review is for one of the Tattoo artists not so much the tatttoo shop (I've never been to it!) Richard Dean is my tattoo artist in Chicago. I was bummed when I found out he was moving away to Kansa City but the people there have gained a great artist. Rich did my first tattoo and to this day he is the only artist I go to. Rich does amazing traditional tattoos with bold clean lines and great color schemes. His designs are unique and I have a great amount of confidence in them. Whenever I want to get tattooed now I tell him what two or three things I am looking for and let him do his thing, the trust I place in him is worth it. If you are looking to get tattooed and you want tattoos that will heal exceptionally and that turn heads, Richard is your guy. I had a great experience with Bleeding Heart. They were attentive and professional, even though they had quite a few walk-ins to take care of at one time. Everyone was friendly and Ryan, my piercer, was especially attentive and genuinely helpful. I got a nose stud. He worked with me on pricing and made sure everything was clean and sanitary during the piercing process. I highly recommend Bleeding Heart. Ridiculously expensive for body jewelry. One of the artists was going to do a tattoo on my friend but rushed through the line work and completely messed it all up. It was very rushed and sloppy. I would not go there for any reason. Read Less

It's a nice shop and I had heard nothing but good things about this place, but I was not impressed with Bleeding Heart at all. They rushed through my boyfriend's tattoo. The line work was subpar and off in a few places. I got my belly button pierced the same night. $100 for the piercing, he took maybe 30 seconds, didn't explain what he was doing or show me a clean needle, and didn't bother explaining how to take care of it. I won't ever go to Bleeding Heart for a tattoo after seeing my boyfriend's, and I'll stick to Weirdo's for my piercings- they're far more professional, not to mention about half the price. Read Less

This place has such a cool vibe. It's literally a house and was turned into a tattoo shop! The inside was incredible. So much to look at and cabinets of body jewelry. I walked in and was greeted by 3 of the workers. I went in to get my naval re-pierced. When I got it done the first time, they didn't use enough skin and it ended up falling out and leaving a raised scar on my belly button. I became super self conscience of it. I finally decided to get it redone and I told the lady my story. She reassured me that she would fix it and made sure it was done correctly. She actually didn't have to pierce through the scar tissue and it looks amazing! I feel so much better about it. This place is super clean. All of her tools were brand new and sterilized in front of me. She made sure that she used new gloves for each step she did. It is pretty expensive though. It was $100 for the piercing (it depends on which jewelry you pick and I chose titanium). It is on the higher end but completely worth it. I will definitely come back for my next piercing and maybe even my next tattoo! Read Less
