Went in for a consult. I know most tattooers are jerks but Jesus Christ. Don't go here if you want the tattoo you want. Only go if you want to hear an artist cry about how your idea won't work.... In the end I went to a good shop and got exactly what I wanted and it looks phenomenal

Universal Ink is just a name. The 2 people who are responsible for the reputation have moved.
They now can be found upstairs over Shady Jacks in STL. Jason and Mike.

Thanks for hooking Me up with the new ink. And when it needed touching up due to sweating, Mike did it free of charge.
Advice. If you're looking for ink go see them.

Avoid at all cost they screwed up my nieces tattoo then cussed her on facebook when she reviewed them. Tattoo was amateurish at best don't be disappointed go elsewhere

I highly suggest coming to universal for any piercing! Jeff is amazing and I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

I went here two days ago to get my belly button pierced. It took a really long time, but Carla was really nice. She seemed more knowledgeable about piercings than other shops. She explained the type of jewelry that would work best for me and I even got to choose my piece of jewelry (some shops will give you a plain standard piece of jewelry). It was slightly crooked the day I got it, but it is starting to straighten and is better placed than when I got it pierced at a different tattoo shop.

Mike is the best. He really goes above and beyond for the art he is putting on your body. If you ever need a tattoo that looks beautiful and realistic instead of cartoonish, ask for him. He did my girlfriend's and I will definitely be going to him for all of mine.
**Edit: While Mike's work is very good and unique, he is not responsible with time management and contacting clients. If you get a complex tattoo from him, make sure to get his number during your consult or he will not take the initiative to contact you, even if he says he will.

I have known the owner of the shop for Many years and for long time considered him a friend but when he got his own place he became to good I have tried several times to get down and get a small tatto...
I have known the owner of the shop for Many years and for long time considered him a friend but when he got his own place he became to good I have tried several times to get down and get a small tattoo he would either set me up for an appointment and when I show up he would say no I am not doing it today was just gonna talk to you about what u want so I will no longer be requesting his assistance he can kiss my business goodbye and friendship but he never cared anyways....

very friendly artists and clean shop!! Ronnie does awesome work I would recommend him to everyone I know! I will definetely be going back for more work!!

very friendly artists and clean shop!! Ronnie does awesome work I would recommend him to everyone I know! I will definetely be going back for more work!!
