I just went in to make an appointment for this weekend to get a helix piercing but they were able to do it right then so here I am! Josh was my piercer, he was super nice and funny and made sure that I liked the placement and made the experience comfortable and not so scary for my first cartilage piercing. The shop was also very clean and orderly which made a great first impression and I was helped immediately upon entering. The piercing and a can of H2Ocean was $50 altogether which was less expensive than I was expecting. Thank you for giving me the piercing I've wanted for years and hopefully I'll be back for more in the future!

I got my nose pierced from St. Louis Tattoo Company. The process was very simple, and efficient. The only thing that I was confused about was that I was taken back to the room for the piercing right away without being explained that they don't have options for different studs to choose from. They just have one simple stud (which is pretty versatile, so I went ahead and got that one). Josh did my piercing. He was very patient and informative about the process and answered my questions beforehand. He worked with me to mark the spot I desired, and did the piercing in a fast and professional manner. I would recommend this place to others!

This is a hard review. I’ve gotten five tattoos here and looking back at the experience I can say this establishment is clean, the people are knowledgeable, and it was overall a good experience.
Why two stars, you may ask?
Now that I look at the permanent work on my body I’m sad to say that with the exception of one piece I was given stencil, quality work, but it is far from the art I’ve come to expect in the take world.
The compass I’ve got is terrifyingly generic. It was even done by the same artist that gave me my favorite tattoo of all, and in the same session no less. For me, a googled photo turned stencil now falls short of true tattooing standards. I was young and I believe they may not have considered me a customer worth the time of a more intricate design though I certainly had the money to give (it was expensive anyway and took him maybe less than 10 minutes, quite shocking for the size but proof of its simplicity).
Like I interacted above, I enjoyed the overall experience (which is why I went back many times and why I am giving at least two stars) but as I’ve aged I’ve realized all that is left to be desired in one of my largest pieces. I will continue to get tattoos that are meaningful but will look for an artist who is ready to express themselves in their work. This being said, there may be artists in this location now that value such an image.

I called the day before my appointment and confirmed the time and even had them look at the email I sent just to verify they received it. I went to the shop the day of my appointment 15 minutes early and was told my appointment was never wrote down and that someone else had scheduled a session for that time. I got my first tattoo here when I was almost 17 and LOVED it, I believe the guy who did it was named Alex? He was sooo nice and is an amazing artist.. However, I went and got another tattoo on my collarbone and a different guy did it (don't remember his name I'm sorry), looked great at first but he made it way too thin and after that it faded very quickly :( He seemed to be kind of rushing. It wasn't a hard tattoo to do at all, he finished with in 10 minutes, and he didn't really talk that much.
But it's a very clean place and will probably be the only place I get my tattoos done just because I'm familiar with it and I have trust in the people that work here... well most of them.

This shop is immaculately clean and your staff are all top notch professionals. Setting up our appointment from 5 states away was easy, and everything went smoothly to the very end. Pete Pulizzi worked on my daughter and was the perfect artist for the job. He made her feel comfortable with the process, and with a male working on her. The final tattoo is gorgeous! Exactly what we wanted. Thank you for a wonderful experience. I would reccommend this shop and Pete Pulizzi to anyone looking for a quality professional tattoo.

I went to St. Louis Tattoo Company last Friday as a walk in to get my septum pierced. I went in around 5, and was told that Josh had stepped out and to come back in an hour. I grabbed some dinner and came back, and they fit me in immediately. Josh took me back, and made me feel extremely comfortable. He joked around with me to lessen my nerves and made sure I was always feeling okay. The piercing was seamless, and you could tell that he is an absolute professional. He explained the healing and cleaning process very well, and made sure to answer all the questions I had. Thank you so much for my piercing I love it!

My daughter LOVES her tattoo and for her 1st one she was happy with how it turned out. As the parents who took her and couldnt sit with her because of the posted sign stating no one but the one getting tattooed can be in the area, the fact that the artist had to take 2 breaks during an 1 1/2 hour tattoo and it was a "by the hour" pay scale, we felt the time was padded and the customer service kinda sucked. Not a friendly place by far. I guess we paid to get a tattoo in Chesterfield. Next time we will go to an adult tattoo shop who likes to say hi and values their customer and wants repeat service.

I went in initially to talk to Mark about my idea (a half sleeve, so no small task), fully ready to commit to the consultation fee and set up an appointment. After a significant amount of research into artists in the St. Louis area, it was very clear to me that Mark's style was right up my alley. However, I was pretty much brushed off by both the receptionist and Mark himself, almost with a vibe of "I won't even talk to you like a real person without a consultation fee." As a first introduction to the world of tattoos, I was thoroughly disappointed and saddened. I would still love for Mark to do this work, as once again, I believe he is an incredible artist, and one who's work I would PROUDLY display. I hope next time I can be taken seriously in this shop...

Went in Monday for my birthday to finally start the 1/2 sleeve I have been wanting for a few years. Tim was my artist and let me say he created a masterpiece. It's not even complete I have a couple hrs left and it's amazing. Just in 3 days I've had so many people stop me and want to take a picture and ask where I had it done. Not only do I love it, but strangers have complemented it by saying it's beautiful and a powerful feminine work of art! Tim has gone above and beyond my expectations. When he was working on my arm he was focused and seemed to be so zoned in on what he was creating! I can't wait to see what he does to finish! This will be the only place I come and look forward to working with Tim to finish my sleeve and for future work! Thank you, thank you is all I can say! See you in about 3 weeks �

I came in today for my second tattoo. While the artist prepared my tattoo design, Joshua gave me advice on repairing some damage done by an ill equipped piercer in Springfield. He knows really his stuff and was able to address concerns that the other shop couldn't. Mike was my tattoo artist. He reworked my design for a memorial tattoo (handwriting lifted off cards from my grandparents) so that it would stand up better to time. He made me feel totally comfortable during the entire process. I'm extremely satisfied with the tattoo. I'll definitely be back again for ear piercings and additional tattoos.

Several days later I was contacted by one of the owners once they read the review. He listened to my experience and worked with me to fix what had gone wrong. I appreciate and respect anyone who stands by their business like that a great deal. I would totally recommend this place to others. They really care about people having a good experience and leaving with an awesome tattoo!

The ear was always infected no matter what I did and then the hole started to rip again in the back. Not wanting to go through that again I let the hole close up. When I was ready to have it pierced again I contacted the surgeon. They told they could re-pierce it, but would have to charge me since I did not contact them sooner about the problem. After a 10 min ...conversation about how basically it must be something I had done I decided no way am I going there, they already screwed it up once!!! Worst customer service! I had gotten a tattoo from here, so I thought I would see if there was something they could do. I went and saw Joshua. He took his time in looking at the ear and the placement of the earring since there is damage (crappy repair by the surgeon). I never even felt the piercing, there was no redness and it has hurt once in the 3 days since I have had it done! I can't thank you enough Joshua! You are a true professional in your trade! See More

I went in about two months ago for a consultation for a small tattoo that I wanted. The artist that took my request - Jeffrey - was condescending and inattentive to my specifications. He did not listen to my description at the consultation and assumed I wanted something more simplistic than I asked for. Because of this, he only penciled me in for an hour for my appointment. During the appointment he told me that what I wanted did not look good and was impossible to do in the size that I wanted, and had to be much larger and outlined in black - even though I showed him examples of other tattoos people have gotten in the exact colors and size that I was asking for. If he had just explained that what I wanted was outside of his comfort zone, I would have understood and gone somewhere else. But he made it seem like what I wanted was just impossible. He insisted on doing it the way he wanted so I felt forced to settle. He drew out an outline of it and I liked the outline. I showed him a picture of EXACTLY how I wanted it shaded and he agreed and said it was doable. But he did not even properly shade it.. He just drew a couple bold lines on the inside and called it finished. I had to go elsewhere to get it filled in the way I wanted it. I won't be coming back to this place.

After we filled out our paperwork, Joshua explained the procedure before he did it so we knew what to expect. He was super fast, gentle, and professional. He also made us feel very comfortable (which is definitely a plus when you're getting a foreign object struck through a part of your body haha). I took my promise ring off while i was there and accidentally left without it but Joshua called us right after we walked out of the door to let us know! That was super nice of him :) Overall great place! Definitely coming back if I decide to get any other piercings!

Unbelievable! This review is coming from a family of people who have recently been getting several tattoos around town. Collectively we have gotten 10 tattoos(1 from your facility) in the last couple of months. If we arrive into a parlor, there's a good chance we will be buying a tattoo that day. With that being said: my mother-in-law walked into your parlor today(August 9th, 2015) with her daughter(my fiancé), my mother-in-law inquired about a small tattoo of a scenic view found in a specific place. The result was an artist whom paid little attention to her questions, he was fiddling with some small instrument in his hand, and had no eye contact. Once she was done explaining what she wanted, he told her it would have to be in black, that color wouldn't look good, and that it would fade with time. He was rude, inattentive, and cold. Clearly they left, immediately called another parlor and now have an artist whom is happy to fulfill her request. If you want to go somewhere where people treat you like junk, this is your joint! For starters, I realize tattoo shops aren't a "loving" place, but they shouldn't be a condescending or insulting place either. Unfortunately that was my experience. When I first went in I had a vague idea of the tattoo I wanted and had even drawn something up. I asked the guy behind the counter (not the owner, not even sure if he was an artist) what he thought and if there were any variations that would look better. His reply was basically "this would be expensive, draw something else" so I asked if he had any suggestions for it and the reply I got was even more unexpected it was to the effect of "just come in once you figure out the exact tattoo you want" then had the nerve to throw me an astronaumical price ($800) on a tattoo that was worth about $400 at the very most. Also, correct me if I'm wrong but most tattoo artists enjoy when they can put their personal style into a tattoo, not just replicate a drawing that a customer has. The experience was NOT what I expected and I will NOT be getting any of the rest of my tattoos there nor will I recommend the store to anyone who wants a tattoo that means something with an environment that is comfortable. If you are looking to get a tattoo I urge you to find another company, there are plenty in the St. Louis area that do incredible work.

Great tattoo place!I came here to get my tattoo in the St. Louis area and made an appointment. Everyone here was super friendly, the establishment was really clean (as one would expect) and the atmosphere was laid back and friendly. It's a really nice location and a lot closer to where I live than some of the other St. Louis locations. The price was perfect and my tattoo came out awesome! It looks way better than I dreamed, and I will certainly be coming back. Ask for House if you want an awesome tattoo!

The artist are multi-award winning, not to mention all of them are down to earth and just genuinely good people. The atmosphere is extremely comfortable, you feel like your at home as soon as you step foot in the door. I just went in to make an appointment for this weekend to get a helix piercing but they were able to do it right then so here I am! Josh was my piercer, he was super nice and funny and made sure that I liked the placement and made the experience comfortable and not so scary for my first cartilage piercing. The shop was also very clean and orderly which made a great first impression and I was helped immediately upon entering. The piercing and a can of H2Ocean was $50 altogether which was less expensive than I was expecting. Thank you for giving me the piercing I've wanted for years and hopefully I'll be back for more in the future!

I got my nose pierced from St. Louis Tattoo Company. The process was very simple, and efficient. The only thing that I was confused about was that I was taken back to the room for the piercing right away without being explained that they don't have options for different studs to choose from. They just have one simple stud (which is pretty versatile, so I went ahead and got that one). Josh did my piercing. He was very patient and informative about the process and answered my questions beforehand. He worked with me to mark the spot I desired, and did the piercing in a fast and professional manner. I would recommend this place to others!

This is a hard review. I’ve gotten five tattoos here and looking back at the experience I can say this establishment is clean, the people are knowledgeable, and it was overall a good experience.
Why two stars, you may ask?
Now that I look at the permanent work on my body I’m sad to say that with the exception of one piece I was given stencil, quality work, but it is far from the art I’ve come to expect in the take world.
The compass I’ve got is terrifyingly generic. It was even done by the same artist that gave me my favorite tattoo of all, and in the same session no less. For me, a googled photo turned stencil now falls short of true tattooing standards. I was young and I believe they may not have considered me a customer worth the time of a more intricate design though I certainly had the money to give (it was expensive anyway and took him maybe less than 10 minutes, quite shocking for the size but proof of its simplicity).
Like I interacted above, I enjoyed the overall experience (which is why I went back many times and why I am giving at least two stars) but as I’ve aged I’ve realized all that is left to be desired in one of my largest pieces. I will continue to get tattoos that are meaningful but will look for an artist who is ready to express themselves in their work. This being said, there may be artists in this location now that value such an image.

I called the day before my appointment and confirmed the time and even had them look at the email I sent just to verify they received it. I went to the shop the day of my appointment 15 minutes early and was told my appointment was never wrote down and that someone else had scheduled a session for that time. I got my first tattoo here when I was almost 17 and LOVED it, I believe the guy who did it was named Alex? He was sooo nice and is an amazing artist.. However, I went and got another tattoo on my collarbone and a different guy did it (don't remember his name I'm sorry), looked great at first but he made it way too thin and after that it faded very quickly :( He seemed to be kind of rushing. It wasn't a hard tattoo to do at all, he finished with in 10 minutes, and he didn't really talk that much.
But it's a very clean place and will probably be the only place I get my tattoos done just because I'm familiar with it and I have trust in the people that work here... well most of them.

This shop is immaculately clean and your staff are all top notch professionals. Setting up our appointment from 5 states away was easy, and everything went smoothly to the very end. Pete Pulizzi worked on my daughter and was the perfect artist for the job. He made her feel comfortable with the process, and with a male working on her. The final tattoo is gorgeous! Exactly what we wanted. Thank you for a wonderful experience. I would reccommend this shop and Pete Pulizzi to anyone looking for a quality professional tattoo.

I went to St. Louis Tattoo Company last Friday as a walk in to get my septum pierced. I went in around 5, and was told that Josh had stepped out and to come back in an hour. I grabbed some dinner and came back, and they fit me in immediately. Josh took me back, and made me feel extremely comfortable. He joked around with me to lessen my nerves and made sure I was always feeling okay. The piercing was seamless, and you could tell that he is an absolute professional. He explained the healing and cleaning process very well, and made sure to answer all the questions I had. Thank you so much for my piercing I love it!

My daughter LOVES her tattoo and for her 1st one she was happy with how it turned out. As the parents who took her and couldnt sit with her because of the posted sign stating no one but the one getting tattooed can be in the area, the fact that the artist had to take 2 breaks during an 1 1/2 hour tattoo and it was a "by the hour" pay scale, we felt the time was padded and the customer service kinda sucked. Not a friendly place by far. I guess we paid to get a tattoo in Chesterfield. Next time we will go to an adult tattoo shop who likes to say hi and values their customer and wants repeat service.

I went in initially to talk to Mark about my idea (a half sleeve, so no small task), fully ready to commit to the consultation fee and set up an appointment. After a significant amount of research into artists in the St. Louis area, it was very clear to me that Mark's style was right up my alley. However, I was pretty much brushed off by both the receptionist and Mark himself, almost with a vibe of "I won't even talk to you like a real person without a consultation fee." As a first introduction to the world of tattoos, I was thoroughly disappointed and saddened. I would still love for Mark to do this work, as once again, I believe he is an incredible artist, and one who's work I would PROUDLY display. I hope next time I can be taken seriously in this shop...

Went in Monday for my birthday to finally start the 1/2 sleeve I have been wanting for a few years. Tim was my artist and let me say he created a masterpiece. It's not even complete I have a couple hrs left and it's amazing. Just in 3 days I've had so many people stop me and want to take a picture and ask where I had it done. Not only do I love it, but strangers have complemented it by saying it's beautiful and a powerful feminine work of art! Tim has gone above and beyond my expectations. When he was working on my arm he was focused and seemed to be so zoned in on what he was creating! I can't wait to see what he does to finish! This will be the only place I come and look forward to working with Tim to finish my sleeve and for future work! Thank you, thank you is all I can say! See you in about 3 weeks �

I came in today for my second tattoo. While the artist prepared my tattoo design, Joshua gave me advice on repairing some damage done by an ill equipped piercer in Springfield. He knows really his stuff and was able to address concerns that the other shop couldn't. Mike was my tattoo artist. He reworked my design for a memorial tattoo (handwriting lifted off cards from my grandparents) so that it would stand up better to time. He made me feel totally comfortable during the entire process. I'm extremely satisfied with the tattoo. I'll definitely be back again for ear piercings and additional tattoos.

I originally posted a negative review about this place because my experience was bad with the artist that I had (everyone else that I came in contact with at the establishment was kind and great overall). Several days later I was contacted by one of the owners once they read the review. He listened to my experience and worked with me to fix what had gone wrong. I appreciate and respect anyone who stands by their business like that a great deal. I would totally recommend this place to others. They really care about people having a good experience and leaving with an awesome tattoo!

The ear was always infected no matter what I did and then the hole started to rip again in the back. Not wanting to go through that again I let the hole close up. When I was ready to have it pierced again I contacted the surgeon. They told they could re-pierce it, but would have to charge me since I did not contact them sooner about the problem. After a 10 min ...conversation about how basically it must be something I had done I decided no way am I going there, they already screwed it up once!!! Worst customer service! I had gotten a tattoo from here, so I thought I would see if there was something they could do. I went and saw Joshua. He took his time in looking at the ear and the placement of the earring since there is damage (crappy repair by the surgeon). I never even felt the piercing, there was no redness and it has hurt once in the 3 days since I have had it done! I can't thank you enough Joshua! You are a true professional in your trade! See More

They even had Tangled playing on the TV's haha. Josh did my piercings & he was very good. He made me feel really relaxed & had the piercings done in no time at all with as little of pain as possible. Station was ready and waiting. Efficient and correctly tattooed in less than what I expected from time. Told me how to take care f it (others were years ago and his expertise was great). I went in about two months ago for a consultation for a small tattoo that I wanted. The artist that took my request - Jeffrey - was condescending and inattentive to my specifications. He did not listen to my description at the consultation and assumed I wanted something more simplistic than I asked for. Because of this, he only penciled me in for an hour for my appointment. During the appointment he told me that what I wanted did not look good and was impossible to do in the size that I wanted, and had to be much larger and outlined in black - even though I showed him examples of other tattoos people have gotten in the exact colors and size that I was asking for. If he had just explained that what I wanted was outside of his comfort zone, I would have understood and gone somewhere else. But he made it seem like what I wanted was just impossible. He insisted on doing it the way he wanted so I felt forced to settle. He drew out an outline of it and I liked the outline. I showed him a picture of EXACTLY how I wanted it shaded and he agreed and said it was doable. But he did not even properly shade it.. He just drew a couple bold lines on the inside and called it finished. I had to go elsewhere to get it filled in the way I wanted it. I won't be coming back to this place.

My cousin and I went to get our navels pierced and Joshua did an awesome job! As soon as we walked in, we were immediately greeted with a friendly welcome from the staff. After we filled out our paperwork, Joshua explained the procedure before he did it so we knew what to expect. He was super fast, gentle, and professional. He also made us feel very comfortable (which is definitely a plus when you're getting a foreign object struck through a part of your body haha). I took my promise ring off while i was there and accidentally left without it but Joshua called us right after we walked out of the door to let us know! That was super nice of him :) Overall great place! Definitely coming back if I decide to get any other piercings!

Unbelievable! This review is coming from a family of people who have recently been getting several tattoos around town. Collectively we have gotten 10 tattoos(1 from your facility) in the last couple of months. If we arrive into a parlor, there's a good chance we will be buying a tattoo that day. With that being said: my mother-in-law walked into your parlor today(August 9th, 2015) with her daughter(my fiancé), my mother-in-law inquired about a small tattoo of a scenic view found in a specific place. The result was an artist whom paid little attention to her questions, he was fiddling with some small instrument in his hand, and had no eye contact. Once she was done explaining what she wanted, he told her it would have to be in black, that color wouldn't look good, and that it would fade with time. He was rude, inattentive, and cold. Clearly they left, immediately called another parlor and now have an artist whom is happy to fulfill her request. If you want to go somewhere where people treat you like junk, this is your joint! Good luck!

For starters, I realize tattoo shops aren't a "loving" place, but they shouldn't be a condescending or insulting place either. Unfortunately that was my experience. When I first went in I had a vague idea of the tattoo I wanted and had even drawn something up. I asked the guy behind the counter (not the owner, not even sure if he was an artist) what he thought and if there were any variations that would look better. His reply was basically "this would be expensive, draw something else" so I asked if he had any suggestions for it and the reply I got was even more unexpected it was to the effect of "just come in once you figure out the exact tattoo you want" then had the nerve to throw me an astronaumical price ($800) on a tattoo that was worth about $400 at the very most. Also, correct me if I'm wrong but most tattoo artists enjoy when they can put their personal style into a tattoo, not just replicate a drawing that a customer has. The experience was NOT what I expected and I will NOT be getting any of the rest of my tattoos there nor will I recommend the store to anyone who wants a tattoo that means something with an environment that is comfortable. If you are looking to get a tattoo I urge you to find another company, there are plenty in the St. Louis area that do incredible work.

Great tattoo place!I came here to get my tattoo in the St. Louis area and made an appointment. Everyone here was super friendly, the establishment was really clean (as one would expect) and the atmosphere was laid back and friendly. It's a really nice location and a lot closer to where I live than some of the other St. Louis locations. The price was perfect and my tattoo came out awesome! It looks way better than I dreamed, and I will certainly be coming back. Ask for House if you want an awesome tattoo!

The atmosphere is extremely comfortable, you feel like your at home as soon as you step foot in the door.
