May be obvious if you frequently get tattoos, but ask for the minimum. Got a tattoo that literally took less than a minute and got charged $100. Yes quite literally. Figured since my partner was getting a really big, nice tattoo that we could then do the smaller tat and tack on $25 or so since his equipment was already out. Nope, I guess my partner did not ask, however the artist also said nothing until payment time. $150 an hour but $100 for my insanely small tattoo. Reiterating: Less than a minute.

I have received a tattoo from Oxford Tattoo previously and that workmanship was good. There were a few issues - tattoo was bigger than I wanted and they didn't want to reduce the size and there are spots missing ink that need touched up - but nothing that I couldn't deal with. However, this latest incident has me wondering how and why this place is still in business. I spoke with the owner, Doug, and made arrangements for a tattoo to be drawn and done by this shop. He couldn't do the tattoo immediately, for some unknown reason as there wasn't anyone in the shop at that time, but wanted to make an appointment. We discussed a price - $150-$200 approximately - and agree to do the tattoo on appointment. I couldn't make the appointment at that time because I was headed out of town for a week but came back, and made the appointment for Friday, July 19th at 6 p.m. At 2:30 that afternoon, I received a call from an employee stating that they couldn't do the tattoo. I asked why and they said, and I quote, "It was too much work" and Doug "didn't want to do it." I asked if it was the money aspect and was told no but "If I wanted to pay $350, they'll reschedule me to get it done." I told them thanks but no thanks.Strange thing was that the owner couldn't be bothered to pick up the phone and call me himself but was apparently standing next to the guy who he directed to call me. Definitely won't be giving this business any more of my money. Maybe it was better before the current ownership.

Came during store hours; 2-11pm this Saturday (2:50pm), the store was locked up and no one answered the phone. Opus Land is where you need to go to get your tattoos.

I went here to get my first tattoo (small script on my back) and they were so welcoming and chill. The atmosphere was very laid back, yet professional. I was obviously nervous but they made me feel very comfortable. The owner, Doug, did my tattoo and he was very great about explaining what he was doing and how I should take care of it afterwards. My tattoo looks great, and I would definitely go back here for another one!

My first tattoo was so ugly after it healed! I visited them twice trying to get them to fix my tattoo and both time they gave me some ridiculous excuse. I went to another tattoo shop for a second opinion and they told me that he went in too deep and that’s why it looks the way it looks but I can’t get them to fix what they messed up. Never again will I visit this place

These guys really know what they are doing. You don't need to drive to Memphis to get a good tattoo, because these guys are the best in North Mississippi and comparable to top shops anywhere. They not...
These guys really know what they are doing. You don't need to drive to Memphis to get a good tattoo, because these guys are the best in North Mississippi and comparable to top shops anywhere. They not only know how to work their craft, but they are professional. I've personally seen them talk people out of tattoos or flat out refuse tattoos on people that didn't know what they were getting into. Hand, neck, and face tattoos can seriously affect job opportunities, and Oxford Tattoo won't do them unless you can convince them that you are in a situation where one would not be detrimental to you. They aren't one of those shops that will take your money regardless of the fact that they know you will regret it later. I assume that no-nonsense pushback is a main reason they have gotten some bad online reviews, because it can't be the quality of their art. Doug and Cody are both incredible, efficient, and genuinely excited about their work. Whether it's a cover up, touch up, color, greyscale, flash, or original design, I can not recommend Oxford Tattoo enough. I have personally sat in their shop for 5 different pieces, and I will be continuing to go to them for all my work in the foreseeable future.

The place is very clean, the girl at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The Artists, both them do very good work. My daughter and I came in with ideas and within minutes he had it drawn and better than what we brought in. Reasonable prices for high quality work. If you want a tattoo don't hesitate to get it here. I will be back for more.

Unless you're covered in tats, don't expect decent treatment from Doug. He doesn't want to do tattoos that are small. He was so rude and so completely unprofessional that we thought the other guy was the owner. Owners shouldn't act that way. He was making rude comments about us wanting small tattoos. Just make a freaking sign that says you don't do small tattoos. If he would've said he doesn't do them and this is why then it would have been fine. The fact that he was a grade a d bag made us want to spread the word. Go somewhere else if you want to be treated with respect. He doesn't respect anyone without full sleeves.

The only reason they're getting more than just one star is because my tattoo actually came out great. However the staff there is rude, I wouldn't go here if you're a first timer at all. They gave me my tattoo and didn't even try and tell me how to take care of it. The guy who gave me my tattoo didn't even have the decency to introduce himself. Very dissapointed.

The hours are basically whenever they feel like being in the studio. Although the work is good quality, they are extremely inconsistent and make you chase them just to get a drawing finished. I had an appointment, and they left the studio 3 hours before it was supposed to close. I will not give my money to a business that treats loyal customers like that.

May be obvious if you frequently get tattoos, but ask for the minimum. Got a tattoo that literally took less than a minute and got charged $100. Yes quite literally. Figured since my partner was getting a really big, nice tattoo that we could then do the smaller tat and tack on $25 or so since his equipment was already out. I have received a tattoo from Oxford Tattoo previously and that workmanship was good. There were a few issues - tattoo was bigger than I wanted and they didn't want to reduce the size and there are spots missing ink that need touched up - but nothing that I couldn't deal with. I went here to get my first tattoo (small script on my back) and they were so welcoming and chill. The atmosphere was very laid back, yet professional. My first tattoo was so ugly after it healed! I visited them twice trying to get them to fix my tattoo and both time they gave me some ridiculous excuse. The place is very clean, the girl at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The Artists, both them do very good work. My daughter and I came in with ideas and within minutes he had it drawn and better than what we brought in. Reasonable prices for high quality work. If you want a tattoo don't hesitate to get it here. I will be back for more.
