We came by on the afternoon of 4/8/18 to have my 16 year old daughter's earlobes re-pierced.  We were told by the girl at the front desk that it was illegal for a tattoo/piercing shop to pierce a minor in Mississippi even with a parent present.  She recommended a shop in Daphne, AL.  We believed her and went there to have it done and were pleased with the work.NOW, I have found out that either she was misinformed or the shop just doesn't want to handle ear piercings.  After finding out another tattoo shop on the coast does this, I looked up the state regulations (MS Administrative Code Title 15, Part 19, Subpart 60, Chapter 11).  It clearly says minors can't be pierced, but it EXCLUDES the ear.  So I will not be returning to this shop because they sent me all the way to Daphne, AL based on their misinformation. this place usually has a long wait time but it is definitely worth the wait to get work done. the environment is chill and everyone is friendly and interactive with clients. mitchell was patient with me and definitely put thought and his all into my piece. worth every penny and i would definitely come back for more. I have gotten many tattoos at Twisted Anchor by far the best shop on the gulf coast!!! Lacey did mother/daughter elephant tattoos and they turned out amazing!! But I also want to thank Josh, he saw my daughter (her 1st tattoo) getting overwhelmed and he came and comforted her and gave her tips on her breathing to get her thru the last 20 mins. So this was my first tattoo and it was a GREAT experience!!! After years of figuring out what I wanted to do, I finally jumped in there and went in for my consult. I had picked Mary to do my tattoo because of her awesome drawings of anchors and flowers. Which would be a big part of my tattoo. From the time Mary walked up, I felt like I've known her for years! My wife was with me and we both felt the same. She listened to my ideas, showed her pictures and answered 1,001 questi...ons that a newbie has like a champ! She took her time and smiled the whole time while doing it. So the day finally came and that same smiling, outgoing and super sweet Mary we had met was still there. Of course, my nerves were in full force but she talked me through the whole process. Now for the art that she drew...I could have NEVER imagined it any better than what she did. She literally took my jumbled up ideas, a picture or 2 of tats, and came up with an awesome drawing for my tattoo! During the whole process, she was laughing and making feel really comfortable. I honestly could not have imagined my first time getting a tattoo would be such an awesome time! Again, my wife was with me, my piece has to do with her and my love for family so I naturally wanted her there, loved Mary as well! It's been a week now and the tattoo is looking great. What prompted me to write a review was not only from my great experience from my consult to the actual day, but Mary even took time out of her day to see how everything was going with the tattoo! Customer service before and after an event is big for me and Mary and the rest of the staff that I dealt with at Twisted Anchor delivered! One month ago Josh preformed the Daith piercing in both of my ears for my migraines. Not only was the decision to get the Daith piercing one of the best decisions I have made (no migraine in a month!), but choosing Twisted Anchor to perform the piercing was the ultimate place to go. Right off the bat Twisted Anchor gets it right, the place is clean and neat making for an excellent first impression. I apologize, but I can't recall the names of the their front desk personnel but they were friendly, professional and courteous answering all of my questions. The artist who did my cover up tattoo, Josh, tackled a daunting task and executed flawlessly. The artists all have an awesome sense of humor, almost good enough to help me forget about the fact I was getting tattooed. My only advice for future customers is to arrive early downtown Ocean Springs has lousy parking-nothing Twised Anchor can control. I got my ear pierced on March 3 for my migraines. I didn't even feel him pierce it, I just felt the jewelry going through. I waited a few days to post a review. So here it is, I have noticed a difference in my headaches. I can feel them coming on but the ease up on their own. Very little meds now � I have yet to have a migraine since I got it. So far so good. I am Still taking Day by day. I want to say this is the cleanest and most pleasant tattoo shop I have ever been in. We will be back !!!! Thank you Josh for doing an awesome job! Great shop all around! I had an outline done about 10 months ago, and made my appointment to have it finished recently. That artist left the shop after I made my appointment with her. The shop called, and apologized and also helped me pick Josh to complete my tattoo. He did amazing, and it looks better than I could have imagined. I love this place! I've had 2 tattoos done at Twisted Anchor by artist Mary and her skills are on point. The staff is polite, professional, & of course very informative. And I felt the pricing was appropriate. Twisted Anchor is also a fine art gallery & for me it's fun chatting with the staff about the different pieces of art they have on display. The place itself is conveniently located on government street near shops & restaurants. Depending on the time/day you're getting a tattoo, parking can be hard to find so be sure to leave a little early to find a spot. Don't waste your time on government street. Most available parking is in the back (street, public parking lots) & even those can fill up on certain evenings of the week (Thurs/Fri/Sat). Read Less

Got 2 tattoos here before, came out great but that artist left. Went back to get 2 smaller and simpler tattoos (my 7th&8th pieces) and this female artist tries to get me to pay more than twice as much as I payed last time, or for any of my other tattoos, my most expensive pieces all being 3-8 times larger and requiring wayyy more outlining and were done in San Fran, Portland and Boston. So I deemed her out of her mind, being that this is Mississippi and she was not ed hardy- and I didn't appreciate her insulting one of my previous smaller pieces, word for the wise- you don't insult a persons tattoos, they are not for you to judge nor understand- yeah so found a place on Bienville, no attitude, no trickery with the prices.
