She was very patient when I was trying to figure out what kind of font I was looking for and she has a great sense of humor. She also made sure I wasn't in any sort of pain or discomfort. I was searching for an artist to do my half sleeve and after my old artist refused (middle finger to you, bro) I frantically searched for someone who would not only listen and understand what I wanted, but not be a pretentious prick about it. I ended up at The Truth Tattoos and spoke with Laura Frego about my ideas. She was open, excited, and 100% understood what I was talking about. Perfect.. I instantly set a date.The start date for my tattoo came around and we planned for a two hours session, expecting to do this a handful of times before the tattoo was complete. Laura's next and last appointment for the evening had to cancel and Laura literally sat with me for about 5 hours instead of the two. She made the entire process comfortable, checked in with me to make sure I was doing okay and even let me take multiple smoke and bathroom breaks without seeming annoyed. The next and last session to finish my piece was at their new location in Woodbury. The space is great; well lit, clean and decorated nicely. Everyone in there from the artists, to the apprentices, to the clientele have all been awesome. The completion of my tattoo went without a hitch. Laura added a small tree frog to my design as a memorial for a friend and didn't seem bothered that it was a last minute request. Overall, I had a great experience and am very happy with my tattoo. The attention to detail is beyond compare. From how clean the shop is to how everyone is treated. When you talk to any of the artist about what you want and where they will make sure it's as perfect as they can. Laura is my sister and my artist. My last tattoo I gave her a pic of a bulldog puppy and told her to create a tattoo that I will love. My daughter recommended Laura Frego at Truth Tattoos for my cover up tattoo,and I gotta say,she is awesome,she spent most of the time drawing and making sure it was perfect before she even touched me with ink,in my book that says alot!!!! I'm familiar with the shops in Saint Paul as a reseller of artwork for tattooers. There's quite a few good shops in the Twin Cities but Omar and his crew at TT stand out. Super clean, bold, bright tattooing and the bonus is that Omar is such a solid, quality person. You'll get a great tattoo here but also feel like you're part of the family. Got my tattoo done only 6 months ago and it already looks like I've had it for many years. The color faded and the line work is bad. Rating is not towards the tattoo shop itself but the tattoo I received. I really dislike that if you have a client that has a tattoo you want to do or something in your liking, you do a great job, but if there's something you don't care too much for, you just do it to get it done and get paid. If you are doing something you love such as "tattooing", you should put that much effort and work into every single clients tattoo. The only reason why I went there is from referrals and pictures of the great work that was done. But now I know those pictures are only of the ones they were proud to do and actually put forth their best work. Read Less

I went to this shop on a whim on a Saturday. The place was friendly and I was greeted immediately. I asked if they had time for a walk in and they fit me right in even though they were busy. I got The artist Zak. He turned out to be the perfect person for the piece I wanted. I wanted a custom piece but on my head. After getting the placement right we got started right away. The artist worked with me on the placement and I was totally grateful for his patients. I'm still in the healing process and am curious and excited to see the final finished product.
