I recently went to the shop to get a lip tattoo. I called ahead to make sure I was able to get a lip tattoo as not all artists will tattoo it. When I got to the shop it was a struggle for the receptionist to find anyone to even say yes to doing the tattoo when finally a man named Garrett said yes when no one else would take it. This made me feel pretty uneasy but Garrett made me feel comfortable with him doing the tattoo so I decided I would go through with it. He ended up doing what I thought was a great job. I understand that lip tattoos can last like three days or forever, it depends... but I'm truly convinced this was not my skin taking the ink, it was the process of the tattooing that caused my lip tattoo to fade away in about 3 days. Garrett used a special slower moving smaller 'tattoo gun', after doing further research almost all tattoo artists use the normal faster moving tattoo gun to do the lip tattoos which results in a possibly messer writing but a longer duration of having the tat. which i assume most people would choose as it is inner lip and a permanent tattoo.... Garrett gave me his card as i was leaving the shop and told me to text him and give him updates on how the tattoo was doing. I sent him photos along with a text that asked.. "what could we do differently next time if i end up getting it redone" not targeting him or the shop and i didn't get any reply.. Super bummed and wouldn't recommend going here for lip tattoos or any if you want decent customer service.

What I love about this tattoo shop is the atmosphere of it feeling like a family reunion every single visit. Every artist is kind and super knowledgeable and fun to be around. The open layout is great...
What I love about this tattoo shop is the atmosphere of it feeling like a family reunion every single visit. Every artist is kind and super knowledgeable and fun to be around. The open layout is great for people watching and enjoying all of the rad artwork and Knick knacks on the walls and surrounding areas. I've only been worked on by Jesse Skaggs so far but I plan to have other artists work on me as well! Anyone you talk to will help you form your general ideas of "what To get," into unique masterpieces whether small or large. I highly recommend this shop!

I had charlie back in october of 2017, i was supposed to get a matching tattoo with my best friend. He couldn't do what we wanted apparently because the lines were too close but ive seen many others who could do a LOT more detailing. Anyway he didnt do a great job on my friends so i tried to pull out of the deal but i couldn't get my 100$ back. He did a similar tattoo i picked out (on my calf) and forgot to cover the tattoo when is was all over. And blamed me even though he said goodbye to me😂. Also didnt give me a sheet on how to take care of the tattoo. Anyway im sure the place is awesome but i just had a bad experience. I plan to add onto my tattoo to make it better someday but for now im a little chicken. Gotta do my research next time

Just walked out of the parlor and am nothing but happy with my tattoo. Erik was helpful and quick with his artistry and from my very simple description absolutely nailed my idea down perfect. I now have an awesome and unique piece. He was excellent with his work. The shop itself was an experience on its own. I would recommend anyone to come here for some work. Thank you Erik!

I went in for a small script tattoo as a walk in and Marissa made sure everything was just the way I wanted it even though it was small. She let me know that since I had scar tissue it was going to hurt more there and walked me through the whole process. She made me feel comfortable and when I stopped her halfway through because I wasn't feeling well she got me water and saltines and checked in with me through the rest of the tattooing process. Over all an extremely caring tattoo artist and will absolutely go back to her.

Garrett has done work on my entire immediately family, and then some. His unique style and care for his work is amazing. Nice clean shop. Nothing but good things to say. Ill be getting all my work done by him until he retires. I highly recommend Black Coffin to anyone and everyone. If you pick a shitty design he will most likely tell you. He takes pride in his art. Doesn't make you feel like just another customer. No rush. From drawing up what you want to cleaning up after finishing, unmatched quality and service. I could go on and on. Go to Black Coffin, and find out for yourself. You won't regret it.

Marissa did an incredible job on my most recent tattoo (and was just a blast to hang out with for an hour and a half, which should not be undervalued as some amazing artists are just not great conversationalists!) - also, based on the art that I saw from everyone else there, you'll get good work done regardless of who you see. Highly recommend!

The 3rd time was definitely a charm! My tattoo artist was Justin & he did an amazing job. He was very personable & made me feel right at home. What I loved most was that he didn't use a stencil for my tattoo. Though I have nothing against stencils. It's just even without one he did a much better job than the other two that were in deed stencils. LOVE. I will be coming back real soon! 🙏🏽

Garrett has done work on my entire immediately family, and then some. His unique style and care for his work is amazing. Nice clean shop. Nothing but good things to say. Ill be getting all my work done by him until he retires. I highly recommend Black Coffin to anyone and everyone. If you pick a shitty design he will most likely tell you. He takes pride in his art. Doesn't make you feel like just another customer. No rush. From drawing up what you want to cleaning up after finishing, unmatched quality and service. I could go on and on. Marissa did an incredible job on my most recent tattoo (and was just a blast to hang out with for an hour and a half, which should not be undervalued as some amazing artists are just not great conversationalists!) - also, based on the art that I saw from everyone else there, you'll get good work done regardless of who you see. Highly recommend!

I explained it was the Finnish word for strength. He said he was a Finnish and I should come in when I could. He designed my tattoo with a really nice suggestion along the way! I love it. Great guy! So I am very new to tattoos. In the last 6 days I've gotten my first 3 tattoos, by 3 different artists, in 2 different states & 3 different cities.. I have to say out of those 3. The 3rd time was definitely a charm! My tattoo artist was Justin & he did an amazing job. He was very personable & made me feel right at home. What I loved most was that he didn't use a stencil for my tattoo. Though I have nothing against stencils. It's just even without one he did a much better job than the other two that were in deed stencils. LOVE. I will be coming back real soon! 🙏🏽
