Terrible experience and I didn't even get a tattoo! Made my appointment on June 26th for July 19th. Got a text last minute canceling. I understand family emergencies happen. I explained that I am on maternity leave and want to get my foot tattoo done before I go back to work so I don't have to wear work boots 8 hrs a day with a fresh foot tattoo (we discussed this when I made the appointment). I told them I would have to look at our schedule, it's pretty busy and with two kids it's not easy getting a sitter. On July 26th, I text asking about August 7th, I get no response. I read that they were out of the shop and would be getting back to people. On August 3rd I send a message asking again about August 7th and get told August 7th with an explanation about the family emergency. I ask for a refund seeing as I am not going to be able to get in before I go back to work at this point. I get told I can get a gift certificate for my deposit amount and I can sell it if I can't use it. What a joke so now it's my problem to sell a gift certificate. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. They could have made it right by getting back to me when I asked about August 7th, but I had to reach out a second time. They could have easily made this situation right and I wouldn't really have anything to say one way or another about the shop but now I just have nothing good to say. Read Less

Love this place. My mom only gets her tattoos from Kat and she loves her! I got my nose pierced here and even though I passed out, Kat made sure I was comfortable after I passed out and she knew exactly what to do. She didn't panic or anything. She was very calm and that was very comforting! I went the other day to pick a new ring for my nose and she helped me put it in the first time and helped me pick out what size I should get. I got a Tattoo to honor a friend of mine. At first I thought it was maybe the area on my inner arm where I got the Tattoo do that made it look funny, but after a few days I noticed that it is completely wrong. That would have not been so bad and they would have gotten more stars but after my tattoo was done they tried to charge me more than what i was quoted. That is not a good in any line of business. Now I live out of town and it is not going to be very easy for me to fix this. This was my first Tattoo done by this establishment and I am very unimpressed. I am sad that I will have to go else where to have a Giant mistake fixed and Kats Tatts came Highly recommended to me that is why I gave them a try. This tattoo/piercing shop is simply charming. The decor is homey & inviting. Very, very clean & beautiful! Kat the owner is extremely talented and knowledgeable in her craft. I have had a couple tattoos and piercings completed by her and simply no issues whatsoever. She also created unique gifts for my employers when I asked her to draw up some caricature pictures for the shareholders at the firm I work for to be given to them for their Christmas gifts. I had came in to have my first tattoo done and right from the first interaction I knew this would be a good experience. It took two and a half hours and cost $350. I thought it cost a little much but I'd rather pay more, and have a professional do it. I've gotten my ears pierced by Kat at the Owatonna location and was happy with my experience........unfortunately I don't have anything nice to say about the Albert Lea shop. I have tried calling them several times over the last couple months and always get voice mail. They pretty much NEVER answer the phone. I stopped in a couple times to get piercings, because I couldn't get a hold of them on the phone. The first time the piercer told me that he didn't have his piercing equipment with him and couldn't do it. The second time I was told that he was out on leave. By the time he finally returned my call, I had already driven to Cactus Tattoo in Mankato, because they are my favorite and they run a really professional shop. Kats Tats lost out on six piercings. They lost out on ~$400 and a $50 tip! Now, because I didn't want to drive all the way to Mankato just to get some jewelry switched out...I tried calling 3 different times on a FRIDAY!! More of the same...nothing but voicemail. ANSWER YOUR DAMN PHONE AND MAYBE YOU'LL GET SOME BUSINESS!! Read Less

Best tattoo artist in town!! Kats tats is an upscale tattoo parlor, It is fresh open and clean. The staff have been extremely helpful and they actually listen to what the customer wants and will advice against bad decisions so you don't get something you will eventually regret. And she is moving to a new location which sounds like its going to be better than what shes currently in. Unfortunately people in the surrounding area may hear differently due to an employee she had - he was terminated and has the "bitter I hate everything about you attitude" so of course this person is attempting to destroy  an awesome business.  This employee unfortunately also stole from us he took a deposit for a tattoo and claimed the $100 as a "tip"  The owner was sincere and she not only took this persons actions in stride BUT she also is going to finish the tattoo. That just shows that the owner and current staff have nothing but their customers best interest at heart . I am very happy that this business is in our town  and I can not wait till the new location opens, with what is all but described as a day spa for tattoo shop :O) Read Less
