My girlfriend and I have both gotten work done from Jacob, and I can honestly say that we both are very pleased. His shop was on the high end of cleanliness as well as a comfortable environment. He was well mannered and a very Respectful person and a very Sociable person as well. He tended to your needs and made sure you were comfortable before he got started on doing his work. Amazing artist. I met him through a friend and followed his art for over a year. He is extraordinarily talented. His linework is impeccable and his color is perfectly saturated. I went in for my consultation and told him he had free reign to do whatever he wanted on my calf. I received a stunning piece of original artwork. I know a lot of tattoo artists and have been to many shops around the twin cities. Phantom Cat Tattoo is by far the best in my experience. I have a sleeve that Jacob started and will be finishing. The colors are amazing and he has a one of a kind talent. The shop is very clean and private, which I appreciate. I would strongly recommend setting up an appointment for a consultation with Jacob if you want some kick ass art on your body. He is very up front and honest and if he doesn't feel the work you want is something that he would be able to do his very best at, he will refer you to another trusted colleague. First off, I don't understand how there is a single negative review on here. Seems a little odd to me. Jacob is an amazing artist, and one of the most kind, cool, laid back guys you will meet. Definetly does not fit any of the negative comments, so please do not consider these, rather look at the consistency with the positive comments. I first met Jacob a little over a year ago, I had a 10 yr old basic/"cookie cutter" tattoo from a well known shop, and wanted a half sleeve/cover up. Jacob asked for my ideas and took a few days and came up with a unique & beautiful design, exactly what I wanted. Something that's just for me! He was flexible in accommodating my schedule, he's very reasonably priced, the shop is clean, his skills and the colors he uses are amazing-and most importantly he's gentle! The heal time is amazing. I absolutely love coming to this shop. It's a nice environment, and Jacob is very personable. He does fantastic work. He's got a light but firm hand, and it's probably the most comfortable I have ever felt getting tattooed. It's a nice, quiet little shop. I really appreciate the fact that it's appointment only so no one is just randomly walking in, it makes me feel safer because then I don't have to deal with someone walking in and seeing me sprawled out on the table getting work done when they are a complete stranger, so I feel incredibly comfortable in the shop. Jacob (the owner and artist) has always done quality and incredible work on me, and he's the only artist I have ever personally worked with that I swear by and will always recommend. He provides a great environment and great quality work for a good price. Being unique is his strong point and he has great style and great taste for shading and coloring. I don't think I have ever been more in love with tattoos on my body than I have been since he started working on me. And he's honest, if he can't do the style someone is looking for or thinks someone could do it better he will be up front and tell you that, he will always try if you want him to but at least he doesn't convince you that he can do something when he can't do it as well as someone else could. Really, he's everything you'd want in an artist. Upfront, reasonably priced, good shop, great work, honest. I will always recommend him to anyone looking for a good piece. Read Less
