Stephanie Schill is awesome . She does such amazing, perfect work. If you have any fancy font lettering, script/line work, she is the person to do it! I highly recommend this tattoo shop.  My overall experience has been extremely positive.  The artists are professional, very courteous, and make you feel welcome. Electric Dragonland just got remodeled and it looks fabulous! You won't find any flash tattoos displayed in this studio because everything they do is custom. EDL is a very clean shop.I've been tattooed many times. Nine to be exact. I've gotten OK, good, and great tattoos. But nothing compares to my ninth tattoo, when I found Thaddeus. He is so knowledgeable and has ideas on top of ideas. He will help you make decisions on exactly what to do and explain why and will guide you in the right direction. Thad did sweet pea flowers and lily of the valley as a piece on my upper arm. The colors are incredible, bright, and pastel. He explained he would leave the edges open in case I wanted to add to it in the future. Sure enough, six months later, I have just made my appointment to add to it. I will be sure to upload a picture of it soon to this page. Another great quality that Thad has is he is what I would call light handed. Yes, tattoos hurt, and don't ever believe someone who says they don't. But when someone has a light hand, it hurts just a little less. I have a tattoo on my thigh and the artist was very heavy handed and it hurt terribly. It also took a lot longer to heal and had very deep thick scabs, where my Tattoo with Thad healed a lot quicker than I expected.And finally, keep in mind the common rule, 'cheap tattoos aren't good and good tattoos aren't cheap'. All of the artists at EDL and extremely talented, and you will pay for their abilities. My tattoo cost just under $600, is about the size of my hand, took just under 4 hours, and is fabulous. Even my grandma likes it. Also, because these artists are so amazing, most of them have a long wait. Some you can get in with a little sooner, but some have a 6 month to 1 year wait because they are booked out that far. Book your consultation, and once you book your tattoo appointment, start saving your money. The good thing about the long wait is you have some time to save up! Read Less

I couldn't have had a better experience. I got my first tattoo on my 25th birthday at some random shop in Miami. The next day, like a natural addict, I went back to that same shop for another tattoo on my back, upper right shoulder. I didn't think too long about what I wanted the second time around. It was a fairly small tattoo, but I quickly realized I made a mistake on the second one. Kinda like when you go for a second or third serving at a buffet. You know you shouldn't, but you already go for it, and then you're like "oh so that happened...oh well."5 years later, I decided it was time for a coverup. I did my research of all the big shops in MN, and made visits to check out artist portfolios. When I got to Shahn's shop I knew this was it. I scheduled a consultation. I wanted a 7-headed cobra coming out of a lotus flower. I knew it was going to be big, and it was going to be difficult because my current tattoo was basically a black blob with scar tissue. It was raised and quite ugly looking. Shahn took notes of what I wanted, showed me references in books he had, and took some photos. I put a deposit down knowing it would be about year before I would get my appointment. It was like waiting to be tortured.One year later, I go in to see the drawing before my first appointment. I absolutely loved it. Shahn did an amazing job of designing the Cobras, each head has different expressions, and the details were very sharp. One week later. 4 hours later. My first session was completed. I wanted to cry, and pass out. I've discovered I'm a big wuss. That shit hurt. Once I hit the 3rd hour, it was like my skin was being peeled off. Shahn was super nice about helping me get relaxed. I was tense and holding my breath when we started. He talked me through the first 5 minutes and took it easy until my body adjusted to the needle. He checked on me throughout and really made it a great experience. One month later I came back to finish. Once the buzzing started I was freaking out internally again, but the last session was definitely easier. Still hurt like hell, but at least it wasn't 4 hours this time. My finished product turned out even better than I imagined. Shahn gave me lots of suggestions on design and executed perfectly. I can't even find where my old tattoo was anymore, the scar tissue even went down. The studio is bright and clean. They were remodeling the upstairs when I was in, and it looked awesome. All of the artists there are super friendly. I highly recommend getting your first, next, or coverup tattoo done here. They are top notch!! Read Less

I highly recommend EDT! In my late 40's, I decided to get my first tats with my sister and 18 year-old daughter. Based on a recommendation from a friend, we stopped by EDT. We were all impressed with the cleanliness and professionalism here. I showed pictures of the two tats I wanted and scheduled a consult with a recommended artist, Chuck. After I e-mailed him the designs, I was able to schedule an appointment for the actual tats only two days later, in thanks to a cancellation. Upon my arrival, Chuck already had the stencils ready and was very patient with me as I had him reduce them again...again (did I mention they were my first tats and I'm in my 40's?!). Chuck was awesome! He was very calming and professional, telling me what to expect and what he was doing. I LOVE this place. The artists there are amazing, they're so knowledgeable and friendly. Their work is award winning and people travel from out of the country to get tattoos by them. Commissioned my first full chest piece with Dan Dittmer. Unbelievable. Turned out better than I could have imagined!Shop is awesome, Shahn, Jakoba, Jamaeka, and the rest of the squad are all great.  Helpful, friendly, insightful and bursting with really good ideas. Dan has been at this for better than 2 decades, and it shows. Detail and color are amazing, incredible design and execution.  He makes sure you're comfortable during the session, communicates every aspect of the process in detail, and really makes the whole experience awesome. No surprise all of the reviews are five stars here.This place is fabulous.  I would get all of my tattoos here if it wasn't so hard to get an appointment!  The best of the best.  If I ever am inclined to have a larger, more detailed piece, I will be sure to spend the extra money and wait a little longer so the owner Shaun can do my piece.  I don't recommend going here just for a small, non detailed piece, simply because it will cost you extra, and you can get the same result elsewhere. Like, say, if you want 'your name' tattooed on your butt, go someplace else.Everyone here is friendly and helpful.  They will help you take your design and make it into something fabulous and beyond your imagination.  Such talent.Its a very unnoticeable, small, Hopkins storefront, but so worth the stop in even just to take a look around. Throughout my experience at ED with Steph Schill, I was so impressed. I sought service to re-do letters on my leg and add flowers to the site for a memorial tattoo. I saw a friend's tattoo and was amazed by the quality. A mountainlion on the shoulder. It was photorealistic and very 3 dimensional. When I saw that tattoo, I knew I wanted the artist who inked it to do my first tattoo. His name was Shahn Anderson and his shop is Electric Dragonland. I was lucky because it's right in my general area, so I could stop by and talk with him a couple of times before haing the work done. Shahn is a wonderful, enthusiastic, supportive and knowlegable artist. He put me at ease, listened to my ideas, asked great questions, and made some reccomendations to make my first experience great. I had to wait 4 months to get time slot, but it was worth it. Shahn's work is amazing. Every time I show the tat off, I get compliments and close examination of the incredible detail and depth of the work. His work was clean/. Both my tats are about 10 sq inches each, so not very small. There was some tenderness for about 48 hours, but not bad at all. His shop and practices are absolutely sanitary and clean. As well they should be, with Shahn being Pres of the national Tattoo Artist assn. He's also won countless awards for his work, really, you won't believe how many trophy's he's got stored (not displayed) in his shop.
