I work in the visual arts so I am picky about a piece that is permanently a part of me. I did lots of looking at almost every decent tattoo artist in the Cities, and decided to work with Daniel. This past weekend he created an awesome a photorealistic tattoo and I could not have asked for better work. He was also great to work with, kept it casual, and let me take the beaks I needed during our 6 hour session. I have been going to Ocean Blue now for some time. Daniel is an amazing artist and has done several tattoos for me. He has been able to effectively integrate new art and designs with my existing tattoos. He has incredible vision and is very creative in his design. Just got my first tattoo here and the experience was really good. Anthony did a good job designing it and listening to my thoughts, but also put in his own ideas which I didn't think of at first but were really good.When it came to the actual tattoo he was nice and checked in with me a lot and talked to me so I wasn't just sitting there in pain. I have been coming to Daniel and Anthony at Ocean Blue Tattoo for years. They are exceptionally clean, talented and accommodating. Prices are reasonable and the ones I have gotten from both artists have remained amazingly bright in color and the artistry is awesome...even my son wants to get the same ones i have because they are so great.. my mom is coming from north Carolina to visit and is getting ones from Daniel ..she loves his amazing water colors talent and If I was to move out of area I would still make the trip back no matter the distance to come back to have work done by both Daniel and Anthony ...they really care about their customers!!!! very much worth the visit to check them at and then get some work done! So glad I came across Daniel, the owner of Ocean Blue Tattoo. I went in to get a memorial tattoo for my 5 year old son - I provided Daniel a photo I found on pinterest for a 3D tattoo - he was able to take that idea and transform it into exactly what I was looking for - incorporating the dragonfly and my son's name along with his favorite colors. Daniel is an amazing artist and I'm already planning to return with my next idea for another tattoo. The atmosphere is comfortable, they take their time making the tattoo perfect and my tattoo was fully healed in very little time. Anthony from Ocean Blue tattoo also did an amazing job designing a memorial tattoo for my husband full of very intricate detail. I really wanted a bright, colorful tattoo that incorporated water color texture and design that didn't fade and looked realistic. Danny did my tattoo and it turned out amazing! It was one full session with a follow up session where he added some more work. He was very detailed and took his time and made it into a completely individual and beautiful piece of work. It's been my experience, that tattoo shops/artists can sometimes be intimidating, but this is not the case with Daniel. He is kind, and an excellent listener! He makes you feel comfortable, and explains everything very well. Besides all of that, Daniel is an incredible artist. He did executed my vision of a family tattoo perfectly. Anthony tattooed me in May. It was AMAZING!! My over the shoulder butterfly trail is beautiful. Daniel is awesome. I got my tattoo back in November. My friend actually came in to set up the tattoo for me and Daniel was able to create exactly what I was looking for just from my friend's description. I wanted watercolor (of which Daniel specializes in) and he was able to do exactly that. The watercolor turned out beautiful! And even after a half year the tattoo still looks amazing. I really carefully considered a variety of tattoo options in my area and I am so glad I went to Ocean Blue!  I was impressed with all aspects of the workmanship and consummate professionalism Daniel demonstrated through every stage of the process.The place was immaculately clean but so tastefully decorated and had this amazingly creative vibe to it. Daniel was super thoughtful and conscientious about taking all the important safety precautions and ensuring I was comfortable and well-prepared throughout. He brought such experience and thoughtfulness to workshopping my piece and ensuring what I would most appreciate was properly translated from my head and the design I provided into reality, and he really took his time sizing and discussing technique and coloring to reach something that was worlds better than I had ever hoped for!The artistry and talent he demonstrated while working was just top-notch. I literally cannot believe the dimensionality and flair he brought to the coloring and shading, he took the desired image and without at all compromising its essence or integrity made it just POP, infusing it with his own distinctive and incredible style. I have seen a lot of gorgeous tattoos on a lot of my real tattoo snob friends, and can say without a doubt that Daniel's work is on par with the best pieces I have seen on any of them. So many less successful artists' work struggles to translate something into tattoo form, whereas Ocean Blue's artists are instead doing the opposite and working from a sheer masterful familiarity with this unique medium and then infusing that into the desired design.I also should mention he has this really cool technique for wrapping it up at the end that makes for a quicker easier less intrusive recovery, as well as speeds up the healing process and protects the tattoo from infection in ways far superior to the method I had experienced at tattoo places in the past.Long story short, I friction' love my tattoo and can't wait to come back again and get another one here!Thanks so much again Daniel, bravo~ Read Less
