I love getting my piercings done here. I've had 6 piercings done here so far and I absolutely love them. They are clean, professional, and really quick. They always go through the procedure and ask for any questions. They're all really friendly too. They also have a punch card. I am SO beyond happy with my experience here! I got my thirds (lobe piercings) done here. Not only were they the cheapest place that didn't use guns, but they were super friendly. I'd spoken to them several times via email about the piercings I would be coming in for, and they always answered promptly. They were more than willing to answer any questions I had, as well as the several questions my aunt had. We had a bit of a wait, but that's because they take their time so they do it right, make sure the client knows how to care for their piercings, and they clean thoroughly before the next person. Jennie, my piercer, was very caring and nice. She made extra sure that I was doing okay through the whole process and was extremely careful in lining up where my piercings would be. My only complaint, if you can even call it that, is that I wasn't told which jewelry would be best until after I'd chosen some and gotten the piercing done. However, that could be my mistake for not asking as well, which I didn't think to do because I was a bit nervous. Professionalism is a casual setting. Wow these artists are amazing. They do more than put ink on your body; they educate you on proper care, methods, the machines they use, and even the history of the style of tattoo you are getting. I've been tattooed by Mandy and Luke (Minnesota Menace). Luke has done most of my work and educated me on traditional tattoos everywhere from their origin, the machines and needles that were used, to the traditional colors used. Got my septum pierced here about 3 months ago. I did not feel welcomed by the piercer herself. Plus, she failed to tell me i apparently did not have a "sweet spot" and went on her way to pierce through my septum cartilage. Again, WITHOUT TELLING ME. I just went back to have my navel pierced. Was told by the same piercer that she could tell my piercing was definitely going to reject just by looking at it. Although none of my other piercings have ever migrated. Doesn't make sense. OH, then she decided to go on an hour long break even though I had been waiting while she was with another client. Will not go back ever again. They are unprofessional. Read Less

So i just got my phinex tattoo done last night and mandy did such an amazing job. She had to reschedule my appt cause she was sick. Nikola was AWESOME! My sister and I were walk-in tattoo appointments. There was maybe a 5 minute wait for him to finish up another appointment and then he was entirely focused on us. We went in with an idea of what we wanted (a quote) but we didn't have the exact size or the font we wanted. He wrote something up, ended up changing the size to what we wanted and it was perfect! It took less than 5 minutes for each tattoo, but he still did a great job. We will definitely be going back when we are in the area. When I called in to see if they took walk-ins, the receptionist was very friendly. When we got there, she remembered my call and got us settled. She explained the paperwork effectively when it came that time. She answered any questions we had without snark or sarcasm, like one of the other reviews mentioned. jennie botched my simple ear Piercing! was getting a second lobe piercing above my first and aside from way more pain than I've ever had from a piercing, it looked fine in the front.  but when I got home and looked closer I saw she crossed over my previous piercing and it came out the back UNDERNEATH my first one! the paths crossed so close that a different piercer suggested I take it out or risk the space between them ripping into one.  I went back to the store and the receptionist told me that she heard Jenna on the phone say "I only messed up one piercing today"!!!!! she was also seen smoking weed in the parking lot.  I'm not against weed but that's totally unprofessional.  the person in charge was very rude (I interrupted him eating a sandwich)  and barely glanced at my ear before telling me looked fine and said they couldn't help me. any real professional would know that what she did was wrong.  I've had all my piercings done at captive for the last 8 years and I will NEVER BE BACK. they don't care about their loyal customers. I might as well do my own piercings from now considering I'd probably have better results. I posted this review on their Facebook,  and instead of receiving any sort of apology or attempt to correct the situation, they turned off reviews completely! I was looking for a new place to get inked since I had recently moved. I read some decent reviews about this place, and since it was close to home I stopped in to check it out. The artist came over, and she had the biggest attitude. I told her what I wanted and she told me that she would do it but it would be the size and placement of her choosing. I left. Piercing virgin that I am, coupled with scar tissue from poor ear piercings as A child has made me gun shy. So..... I have to say that Scott was AMAZING!  I called a week ahead, he called me back to answer questions and spent nearly 40 minutes explaining risks an likelihood of issues related to my personal history, as well as what I could expect and do to minimize risks.   He then let me know how I could coordinate to limit wait time due to driving far!  When I called  the day of, the secretary knew my name when I called, and she stated Scott told her to expect me, and I had the same treatment on arrival making the experience comfortable and relaxed, like visiting a friend.    Scott then clearly explained the procedure l, and what to expect while meticulously repeatedly washing hands between each step and donning fresh gloves as well.   He then repeated the aftercare , and stressed the importance and safety implications, which I appreciated!!!Needless to say my 1st facial piercing was such a great experience I would recommend Scott and this agency to anyone! You need one word in piercing: SKOT. He has worked at a few shops in the past but has been at captive elements in Blaine for going on two years. He is very knowledgable not only about piercing, but body modification in general. I have had three separate piercings done by him and wouldn't recommend anyone else as much as i do him. I had wanted a tattoo for a long time but I am afraid of needles. I visited Captive Elements when a close relative decided to get her first tattoo. I was impressed with the professionalism of the staff and the creative talent of the artists; so much so that I got up the nerve to go and get my own tattoo. The artist drew up just what I wanted and it turned out gorgeous! Everyone was friendly and supportive without glossing over the fact that there would be pain involved. I have had my nipples pierced numerous times by various staff at Captive Elements in Blaine. I have never received anything other than excellent service. The piercer, whether male or female were always exceeding expectations. They give excellent instructions on how to care for piercings. I have followed my after care to the t and have never had anything out of the norm happen. The reason being, I LISTENED to my piercer, not my friends who think they know everything. I have also received numerous tattoos from the artists there. On occasion when I thought something was out of the ordinary, the front desk staff was more than happy to assist me with my concerns and questions as well as the artists who did the work. I would wholeheartedly recommend even my grandmother to get a service here. Although not as well-known (or centrally located) as Saint Sabrina's, I found myself at Captive Elements for a detailed sleeve.  I'd been looking for the right artist to do it for a long time and a friend finally steered me towards Jessie.  So I gave her a ring and met her in the shop.  I'm so glad I did.  Note that the shop is in a strip mall.  The sign is big and easy to see, but you can cruise right past it, too.So I got there.  I've found that, in a lot of tattoo and piercing parlors, the employees are a bit... I don't know.  Elitist?  Like, "My tattoos and gauged ears make me cooler than you and we both know it."  Not the case at C.E.  Not at all.  The shop has an awesome atmosphere and while I'll probably never let anybody other than Jessie put ink in my skin again, I had a fun repertoire with all the people working the days I've been in.  The shop is very clean and sanitary, without giving you that feeling that you're being quarantined in hospital like some other places that shall remain nameless.I found the prices to be fair and reasonable.  The only downside for me was making the trek up to Blaine... but when you're putting something on your body that is permanent, no travel is really too far for good work.Jessie still has my deposit money... looking forward to putting it to use in the near future. I went to Captive a little bit ago to get my belly button pierced, and it was by far the best time I've had in a shop. My piercer was great, he was very concerned with makeing it perfect and making sure that I was happy with it, and gave very detailed aftercare, which surprized me because when I had my nose pierced someplace else, they didn't even tell me to wash it!!! I haven't been to Captive Elements in a while, but I had such a good experience when I was there that I wanted to make sure they get a mention in Yelp.Elby was my piercer and he came *highly* recommended by a good friend of mine.  Wow, I'm glad I took him up on that recommendation.  I've been pierced quite a number of times, but only once by Elby, which is too bad because he's probably the most patient, gentle, warm but still professional piercer I've encountered.  Their prices are good.  They used to have a frequent piercer card...get so many piercings, get one free kind of deal (not sure of the exact wording, so don't quote me!)...not sure if they have that anymore.I wish Captive Elements wasn't soooo far away from me.  I'd really like to be part of their "frequent piercer" deal.
