I did a walk-in for my first tattoo on a Friday night (a very simple line-drawing of some symbols) and I didn't have to wait long at all! The studio is very clean, decorated, and the artist, Maurice, made sure to clean up his workspace before seeing me. He is a very talented artist with a lot of his original work hanging for sale in the studio.It got a little busy with piercing walk-ins and I ended up waiting about 30 mins to talk to the artist, which is not bad. I showed him the design I had in mind and he redrew it PERFECTLY, using a compass to make sure that the circles were flawless and aligning the symbols with a straightedge. He even helped me decide which way to orient the tattoo and resize it to fit on my body.The tattooing itself was a great experience, with surprisingly very little pain, and he was immensely focused on his work. However, he still took some time to chat and talk about music. We played Lil Wayne's new album and the studio had an all-around good vibe to it. After initially outlining the symbols, the artist made sure to go over the edges and fill them in completely.Overall, the tattoo itself came to $120, a price that I found to be reasonable (Ann Arbor has far higher prices) for the quality of the piece. Chris was great! He did an amazing cover up on my hip and it is just beautiful! Plus the two matching tattoos he did for my mother and I for my grandmother and Aunt. They are perfect. Well 100% be going bc for every tattoo and my other cover up on my calf. They are so worth the 14 hour drive up there without a single doubt! Couldn't ask for a better tattoo home. ❤ Would tell any of my friends or family they are worth going to! Didn't get any work done by Nick but he did my Aunts cover up and matching tattoo, along with my Cousins matching tattoo and dream catcher with all 4 of them came out beautiful as well. 💕 Can't wait to come back and see y'all. You get what you pay for here. I got my nose pierced on a whim here for $20, but although it didn't hurt the jewelery they used wasn't good for swelling or new piercings and easily came out. I came back to get it put back in, which I had to pay for, and then a few weeks later it came out again. I finally decided to just go to a strictly piercing shop in AA and found out that not only was my nose pierced at an almost vertical angle-the reason the jewelry kept coming out was because it's not suited for new piercings! The guy gave me a quality piece of jewelry with plenty of length for swelling and without a ball on the end that could easily fall off. Chris done a great job on my daughter's first tattoo. I put money down on me one, and I could not follow threw on getting mine. Due to a out of town emergency. I have a keloid on my nose that just will not go away, and it is very common that keloids are caused by poor sanitation in a tattoo/piercing shop. My best friend also had a nose piercing done here and the piercer told her that it was okay to change after a month, but when she had the man in Tatted Up do that for her, with exactly the same kind of metal, he was very rough about it and she got a terrible infection, and she had to make a doctor's appointment just to get it removed. Now she has an ear piercing from there as well which is forming a keloid of its own. Go somewhere else to get pierced. Read Less

I was so nervous to get my piercing done. The owner was friendly and actually the one who did my piercing. It was over so quickly and did not hurt at all as bad as I thought it would. Got my nose pierced here and it was horrible. Whoever pierced it had no idea what they were doing and messed it up so bad I had to go down the street ten minutes later to liquid Swordz and had them re-peirce it on the other side. Worst day ever. Never going here again, no wonder why their piercings are so cheap. You get what you pay for. Read Less

Don't get your nose pierced from here! I went here for the $10 on all piercing sale and my experience was painfully slow. They pierced my nose which wasn't bad but than they had problems closing the piercing with its back piece. They kept messing around with my fresh pierced nose and I kept trying to keep my cool while tears rolled down my cheek. Then they told me they had to do the whole process over and repierce it, yay. After walking out angry & in pain, I was still excited about my new look. Once I got home, the back end of the stud  fell out right when I used a Q-tip to clean it. So I used a plastic back from a different earing until I got a replacement the day after. I got a ring and cleaned it everyday but manage to get a bump on top a week or so after and still have it for over a month now. I just took it off today cause it so ugly that at this point I just want it to heal properly. Read Less

This my man Yabo's ( Chris's ) shop. He has done my last 6 tattoos. I have received a lot of compliments on my tattoos regarding his artwork. Truly amazing with the tattoo gun as well as his drawings from scratch. And 99% of the time I go in there they have Brotha Lynch Hung playin out the speakers. Pricing is very reasonable. And if your wanting piercings done, they got you. If you have never been here, or unsure of what you want. They'll take good care of you. There are a lot of tattoo places in Ypsilanti, but Tatted Up is the best in my opinion. Read Less
