On a whim I made an appointment for a tattoo after leaving Art Van.  I was given a price and put down a deposit.  On the day of the appointment, the guy completely forgot that I was coming, no note was made of my appointment and they lost the deposit.  He then wanted to get a ride to his house to get some weed before he could tattoo me.  The price was also increased.  All of my instincts told me to get the heck out of there but I did not listen.  The tattoo was not up to the standard that I am used to but I keep it exactly as it is to remind myself to trust my instincts. I refer to the artist as "Tattoo Guy" only because he seemed very impressed with himself regarding the fact that he is a "tattoo artist".  Having been tattooed by some amazing artists I would hardly call "Tattoo Guy" an artist. I recently got my nose pierced by Jacob the piercer and it was awful. My nose was swollen for a substantial amount of time much longer than normal it was so bad that I had to pull it out and it couldn't stay in for even a full two weeks. The guy seemed completely unprepared and irritable as soon as I even got there. He made me sit straight up which is quite different from what I have ever experienced when getting a nose piercing. He had to pierce it two times that day because... I jerked but I'm pretty sure that wouldn't have been an issue if he would have had me lay back in the first place instead of straight up. He didn't seem prepared at all. After I came back to check on the piercing the only thing he could tell me is that "black peoples noses are different from white peoples noses". Well gosh, I didn't think you needed to be in the profession to figure that out and even so just admit that you were wrong and didn't know what you were doing. He even talked about another lady who said her nose piercing was done incorrectly. Obviously there is a pattern. I feel that if they are going to continue in the future, they should get a new piercer. I almost went back for a tattoo but after such a terrible experience, I would never come back. Sara did my tattoo for her $20 small tattoo event, and it is an AMAZING tattoo. People can't believe she free hand drew it on me then tattooed over top when I show them. She is absolutely amazing and from the pictures I've seen all the artists there are so tallented. I definitely plan on going back for more tattoos! I would recommend this shop to anyone! Read Less

Kristen Inks is an extremely talented artist. When I go in to see her I have an idea of the "center piece" of the work I want done, then she uses her artistic skill and abilities to fill in the background and whatever else she imagines would go well with that piece. It's such a relief to have an artist with such talent that all I say is "I want this and use ur imagination to do the rest." This place is awful! The customer service is nothing I've seen before. My sister made an appointment to get a tattoo (Sunday at noon) which the guy confirmed. We show up a few minutes late (needed cash to pay with) and walk up to the door. The open sign was on but a piece of paper was taped to the door saying "back by 2". We call the number and a guy from a SMOKE SHOP 2 businesses down answers and comes outside. He says that the guy might have gone to lunch or "had something to do". I asked why he would leave knowing he had an appointment coming in and the guy looked at me trying to give me an answer. I told him to let that guy know we were canceling the appointment and left. I was uncertain about a body piercing, but Joey put me at ease. I got a P.A. and I am glad I found an excellent & experienced "technician". Joey also does tattoos and he had a person waiting for fresh Ink. Joey took his time to explain what he was doing and how to care for his work.
