Where most tattoo shops and their artists like to be "yes men" just to make the sale and take your money, Scott takes the time to explain why or why not your idea is/isn't tattooable. I had a terrible experience. Jared was a complete jerk to my mother and I. We went to get a tattoo for my brother who passed away unexpectedly. I felt verbally abused and insulted. He kept saying, "Not to be rude but,." But, he was being rude. He treated us like we were idiots. He acted like he didn't have time to talk to us about what tattoos we wanted to get. Got my tattoo here in 07. It was the first I'd ever had and I spent a long time researching and talking to friends before I chose someone. Almost everyone suggested Scott so I was shocked when I was met by a rather bored individual when it came to doing my first piece. He seemed rather uninterested in the job and like he couldn't care less if he put such beauty into mine like all the many I had seen before. He didn't really care to go over my design and tweak it. You would think someone in this profession for so long would want to educate a customer getting inked for the first time. Instead he talked about the design for maybe a minute and then got ready to do the job. To this day, a large portion of the tattoo is still raised from going in too deep and the triforce is not even close to the colors I asked for, and it's squished appearance with a blank area below is less than desirable. I had a really great experience here. Adam was the most friendly tattoo artist i've ever had. We talked like friends the entire time. Tattoo turned out great and he gave me such a great price on it. I got a tattoo done by Scott at Lady Luck a while back. I told him what I wanted when I made my appointment yet when I arrived he was not ready. I had the base design and wanted it turned into a band. He told me to just go pick something out of the book. Apparently, he either couldn't or wouldn't draw up what I wanted. If it wouldn't have been for my non-refundable deposit I would have left right then...and I wish I would had. He over-worked my tattoo so badly that I had CHUNKS of my leg falling off during the healing process. After 5 to 6 weeks, it finally healed with several spots that had no ink at all and a rather obvious mistake that was made in the band. The real kicker is that the tattoo was extremely overpriced. I have no issue paying the money for a great tattoo artist but Scott was no artist. I have debated since then about going back to get it touched up/redone but I don't think that I can let him touch me with a tattoo needle again. I have talked to a few other artists about re-doing the tattoo but most do not want their name associated with Scott's tattoo. I would recommend finding a different shop. Read Less

I recently went in to Lady Luck to get a new piercing. I have all of the typical piercings already: snake bites, septum, etc and this time I wanted something unique. Matt is the one that did my piercing and it was a pleasant experience from the moment I stepped into the shop. Everyone in the shop was very professional and friendly and the private piercing room was very clean and well organized. Matt was very helpful in giving me tips about different areas, the healing process for them and what might look good on me. Then after choosing my piercing, a surface bar on the back of my neck, he walked me through the process of choosing my jewelry....I can be very indecisive, so this was very unexpected and nice of him. I went in to Lady Luck Tattoo about a month ago. I'd been reading up on VCH piercings, but was unsure of whether or not I was a 'suitable candidate'. After seeing some of the positive reviews for Lady Luck, I gave them a call about getting a consultation; at this point, I had nearly convinced myself that I wouldn't be able to get the piercing anyway.They were able to get me in that day. I had an appointment with Matt, who was great! Tiffany was also there and chilled with us. After I popped onto the table, they both determined that I could, in fact, get the VCH! I was overjoyed! Then they asked if I would like it right then. Oh hell yes!The actual piercing itself was painful and made me jump, but afterwards didn't hurt at all. Matt and Tiffany were great, walked me through the entire process and made sure I was comfortable every step of the way and explained everything, and answered every question I had.The shop itself looked amazingly clean, and the piercing rooms are closed off, so you get some privacy. They had a really nice selection of jewelry to choose from as well!As far as price, I wasn't able to get quotes from anywhere else. But they seemed very fair to me, and to be honest, for the type of piercing I was getting I certainly didn't mind paying a little extra!This is definitely the place I will be going for any future piercings or tattoos! Well for starters, I'd like to say that I do agree with everyone throwing props at the piercer, Tiffany. She's done most of my piercings, going as far back as to when I was just a kid & required my parents approval and signatures to even get any work done! So yeah, she is really kind and educated and makes u feel very comfortable when getting any piercing done. BUT unfortunately when it comes to the tattooing services that are offered at Lady Luck, sad to say, Scott falls extremely short! I have indeed seen a whole lot of his work throughout the past 16 years...and sure, he does some nice tats. But personally, when I'm looking into getting another tattoo, I'm not just looking for a great artist but also someone that has a warm and inviting personality! It's very important to be as comfortable and relaxed as possible while receiving a permanant piece of art and Scotts' cold, rude attitude is is the furthest thing away from what I'm looking for in a great artist!!! My husband both got tattoos from Chris, the newbie of the operation. We thought he did a great job! Mine was a fairly straight forward Celtic cross, my husband's required more imagination and was an homage to his late father. Both turned out great! Tiffany and Andrea are wonderful piercers. They are very talented and are passionate about their work.I got my piercings done in tandem (both piercers do their work at the same time) and it made for a swift and practically pain-free process! The piercing room is clean and sterile plus you have privacy. I would definitely go back to either piercer to get something else done. Another plus for Lady Luck is the vast array of jewelry available to choose from. The piercers are very knowledgeable about aftercare and they explicitly describe how to take care of your new piercings. The salt and special soap is given to you after you get your piercing. Scott came recommended. Drove an hour to have a pretty expensive tattoo done. Walked in, scott and myself were the only ones there. Started to talk to him about what i wanted done, he couldn't seem to care less. Cracked a joke or 2 to lighten the mood, the dude didn't even blink. I've had some work done by Scott at Lady Luck and personally, I wasn't overly impressed. I thought the price he charged for the simplest tattoo I've ever gotten was a bit overkill and the quality I've seen in the things he does has been fair but never anything to get excited over.I'd heard they were high on prices but when I saw they'd ran a special a few years back I figured why not. Got the quote and mentioned his sale and was essentially told that the price I'd been quoted was "a good enough deal." $200 for an hour and a half of a simple black design isn't a deal by any stretch. I've had much better for less.Just look at the photos attached to the business. Click on the bee tattoo and start counting legs. I've had tattoos for years, but until Scott did my two dog portraits on my chest, I've never gotton comments like ""that's the most beautiful tattoo I've EVER seen"" and ""that's breathtaking"" about any of them! Scott doesn't just know how to tattoo, he's an ARTIST, and not many tattoo ""artists"" out there are TRULY artists, if you know what I mean. You can give Scott an idea for a design, and he'll run with it and make it more amazing than you thought it possibly could've ever been!!! I work for the heath department for Oakland County, and am well aware of regulations on tattoo and peircing shops, anyways, not only does Lady Luck excel in the these areas, Lady Luck is the only shop in Oakland County that is a registered APP shop (Association of Professional Piercers) and they have extremely strict health standards---more than the county and state. I feel very safe going to ladyluck for both piercing and tattoos and have always had a very enjoyable experience there. In addition, any piercings I have had from ladyluck have always healed perfectly, and I have not had the same luck with other shops I went to before ladyluck. Read Less
