I got my tattoo this past weekend. I was a regalar walk-in client that paid about $70 for my tattoo. The space itself was very sanitary and the workers were amazing. However, my tattoo for one is crooked and the lettering is spaced very awkwardly on my arm (I believe this occurred during the actual tattooing process because there was no issue in the template traced on my forearm prior). When I first got my tattoo I was impressed because I had heard such bad things about American pride in the past that I was impressed with the work that was done when I first got my tattoo however a week down the line my tattoo became infected. I know that it was infected because I went to my original tattoo parlor and my artist told me that it was infected I went to the hospital they also told me it was infected so I was put on a round of anabiotic‘s and an anabiotic cream I also got another tattoo a week later from my original parlor and it did not and has not gotten infected so I don’t know if it’s something with the equipment that they use at American pride or something else I just know that mine became infected and I’ve never had a tattoo get infected before and I will never Recommend someone to go to American pride due to my experience Read Less

I got a tattoo from Shawn Cook back in February of 2014, my dad and I got matching Lions helmets. They are the centerpieces to bigger pieces, the rest of our calves won't match but the centerpiece will. Shawn did great realism work on the helmet. It saddens me to say it took me 4 years to get back in. But I saw Shawn yesterday for the second large piece of what will be my full calf when it's done. Prices are better than a lot of shops and for the work he does it may be too cheap. I knew going in that Shawn did great work, but he even blew my mind when he did the piece yesterday. I couldn't be more happy with it. Great place to go, and while I can't speak for other artists in the shop if Shawn says they're good and can handle something I want done I wouldn't hesitate to use them. I got my fist tattoo from Derrek back towards beginning of November. Spoke with him and had a couple designs created to get my idea from concept to reality.  Absolutely love the final design.  Just had the touch up done and it looks fantastic.  Derek helped easy my fears, and answer any and all questions I had.  He made my first foray into the tattoo world an enjoyable one that made the pain worth it.  Definately plan to have him do any future tattoos I may desire. Although I've heard nothing but bad things about this place I decided to go and get a rook piercing on Friday the 13th since they were having a $13 special that day. I had work that day until 8 pm so by the time I got to the shop it was close to 10 pm. They were packed but the wait was not long at all. They had multiple staff members working and everyone was friendly. The reason for my 2 star review is because they did not clean the area of my piercing before or after piercing it, and also did not give any instructions on aftercare. I'm someone who has quite a few piercings so I already knew how to properly care for them, but a coworker of mine is new to piercings and got her second lobe piercings as well as her belly button. She did not receive any instructions on aftercare which led to her to get a terrible rash on her stomach after using the aftercare set she bought from the shop. I have not had any problems with my rook piercing in the two and a half months I've had it. I only went here because of the special but would never go back. I went to Celebrity Tattoos in White Lake yesterday since they were doing a $10 basic piercing and 50% off non-basic piercing special. They were extremely busy (I was there for 1 and a half hours) and they still managed to clean everyone's piercing area before and after as well as give aftercare instructions. Read Less

Had such a great experience here yesterday, big shouts out to Sean for being AWESOME & super sweet. I got my nose pierced for the first time & he was so calm & gentle, really made me feel comfortable. I went in to get my navel re pierced and to my surprise (after 17 years) it wasn't closed so I was left with a credit. I returned 2 weeks later to get a nose piercing and picked out a gold cork screw ring ($70) . My piercer did not inform me that this was not a great fit for my nose, as this piercing did not accommodate the swelling that follows. I went the next day to another place for a more intimate piercing and the lady their informed me that I should really considered... getting refitted... Explained to me how my piercing can sink into my nose as well as other complications. That did Not make me happy. Ive spent the following weeks on the internet looking up hacks and preventions to keep this piercing from sinking in. Meh. Got a walkin piece on my forearm. Nothing amazing, just something simple.  Got the walkin but it was more expensive than it should've been for a small black piece. As for the piece itself it's kind of spotty and the lines aren't straight. I'm going to have to get it fixed at another shop. Read Less
