I’ve waited a few days to write this, not sure how to word my experience with Island City Ink. I want to be fair, but honest. My friend and I had walked into Island City Ink and explained what we were looking for and scheduled our visit. We planned on doing this together, and scheduled our appointments accordingly. Friday at 1 p.m. I had wanted an existing tattoo added on to, and I was told that would be pretty easy… for my friend, it was her first tattoo. This review i...s two-fold, as my daughter and her friend also came along and her friend ended up getting her Septum pierced. So, in a nutshell… the art, the tattoos (so far, still healing) were pretty spot on. But based on the following, I will never go back. My friend and I got small tattoos.. nothing huge, or crazy. Our appointments were at 1 p.m. We actually had plans afterward, but that never happened as we were literally there from 1 p.m. - 7:15 p.m. Six plus hours, for two tattoos. We were told to send them pics of what we had in mind, and we did… but they did not look at them until we were there. I wholeheartedly thought that they would have had something drawn up for us when we got there.. but no, there was no plan. We were told that our transfer image they put on our skin had to dry at least 30 min, which is crazy… as I have had a tattoo before, and that’s not how it happened. So again.. fine, 30 min to dry… but why we were there for 6 plus hours, yawning in the back… giddy cause we were just plain tired and wanted to go home. Not a good experience at all. I will also add that this only added fuel to my fire. I forgot about my $20 deposit… so taking that into consideration, I ended up giving Crystal a $70 tip, only for her to be very rude to me at the end, as she was not happy that I took a pic of my friend’s tattoo (that she could not see, as it was on her back) when it was a little red, and I then showed my friend her new tattoo. Crystal was like, “Well, that’s not the kind of response I like to hear” (talking about what my friend had to say about her new tattoo) and she blamed it on my taking a pic when it was red. I offered to then take another pic, when it wasn’t so red and she proceeded to tell me it was too late, I ruined it. So, wow…. whatever. Lastly, My daughter’s best friend got her septum pierced. She paid $70… now I will say the gentleman that pierced her was the best part of the operation, he was kind and nice… but her experience was not good. He ended up piercing her twice and he explained that the septum is tricky… so I gave him the benefit of the doubt, but after we left, both girls said that when he lined everything up he was completely fine, but when he went to do the actual piercing, he was literally shaking like crazy, and guess what, the piercing is crooked. So, with all this said… my next appt will not be here, I do not care if I have to be put on a waiting list somewhere else. See More Read Less
