I have two tattoos now, and I have had them both done here. All of the staff are very personable. Dave Melendez is an artist at the Orphanage and he is always very friendly. He has done both of my tattoos and if I ever have any questions he is willing to answer them! I am someone that does not have very many piercings in fact I only had two, one in each ear. I wanted to try something new for my boyfriend, so I decided to get my nipples pierced. But I was so scared; I know I had to get it done before I chickened out. So I called around and found a couple piercing parlors. There was one that no one picked up and one told me they could not get me in for three months. :( Then I called the orphanage tattoos and I got in the same day. The place was real clean the guy that does the piercing has over ten years’ experience and I watch the guy open all the tools in front of me. The guy that did my piercing was very professional which helped me get over my fear. He did not lie to me and tell me it is not going to hurt, he told what to expect to deal with the pain. I had to wait a week for my tattoo appointment, big deal, I have to wait to see my dentist too. While my drawing was being worked on, I stopped in to check on the progress. Jake had a couple ideas he was working off. I picked the one I liked best, and set up an appointment. When i arrived, everything was ready, I filled out the paperwork and got my tattoo. stopped into a few other tattoo shops in muskegon. i got little help in most shops, even snickered at for my ideas for tattoos. i stopped into the Orphanage and got a nice surprise. by far the cleanest shop in the area. and the work they do is phenomenal. i told jake my ideas while he wrote them down. a few days later jake called me with news he had some sketches for me to look at. its like he read my mind. we made an appointment for two weeks later( these guys are busy). when i got there for my appointment everything was ready to go. this is the place for me from now on. lonnie did a piece on a guy i work with and his work is awesome as well.
