We love this place! James is an artist who does really great tattos. I have a large tatto on my back...a painful spot for ink no matter who does it - but James has a gentle approach and is really good about checking in to see how you're doing. I have gone to 3 other places in the Lansing area as well as other states...I think he's been the best so far for the art, the application, and conversation. The hours seem to fly by. Paul has now created 2 very beautiful tattoos for me. He was as gentle as he could be and he made me comfortable letting me break or stretch as needed. this was the very first shop I went to when I was of legal age to get a tattoo. they're somewhat pricy, but you get what you pay for, right? right. I am almost 22, and got my first tattoo on my 18th birthday, this tattoo is vibrant still and the linework is amazing, it still looks like how i got it the very first day. it's finally starting to fade a little but, but not nearly as much as other tattoos i've gotten from other shops later down the line. the tattoo shop is the one of the best in Michigan, when i went a few years back, anyways. I went in after going to a number of other Lansing tattoo shops and not feeling right. Kevin the owner listened to my vision and looked at my inspirations photos and told me a guy Conley would be a great fit. I met with Conley. Conley obviously cares. He is the type of guy to tell you his opinion because he cares. He told me how other shops may do what I was requesting buy why he suggests having the scale of the images be bigger and I'll be happier and why. This caught me off guard. A tattoo artist who has the courage to tell me no and why. I was hooked. I also must add that Conley is not a steriotypical tattoo guy! He is a real artist, and an amazing one at that. He is a USA veteran and father. He was slow to open up but after having him do a tattoo, I got to know him. The times I've been in here, 10 or so 3 hour plus sittings, I've laughed my butt off with these guys Kevin and conley and steve. Real guys, hard workers, honest men, trying to serve people and have a good time doing body art. My encouragement is to go here if you want a tattoo,  definitely go there if you want ARTWORK and be open. Open to collaborating with your artist. I have approached each tattoo as a 50/50 thing. I bring the inspiration and vision or plan A and plan B, and let my artist get involved. It's healthy pressure and he has to feel confident. It's more honest and feels good. Went for my 1st Tatt, went with my Sis & another girl... I went in nervous and scared... Left out unsure if I would do it again.  But now that the healing is done... the more I look at it the more I want to go back for a second.  As a matter of face, I will be going back for a second. Kevin has a very relaxing personality, yes for all the giggles and laughs he was also very professional & sanitary. Took the time to answer every question we had, and we had a LOT of questions. The staff were friendly and layed back. I had a tatt of a Rhino busting out of a brick wall on my ribs drawn up just from what I told them I wanted and they got it just how I pictured it! They gave me a real good price and did real good work. It did not take as long as we even thought. I go back in 2 weeks for color. I cant wait! Read Less
