I visited East Lansing the other week in hopes of getting the bottom of my belly button pierced. My top belly button piercing was a little irritated so Malibu, the Piercer, removed my initial ring and replaced it with a longer one. This relieved the pain that I had been feeling due to another piercer's mistake. Malibu gave me after care suggestions and made sure that I was not in pain anymore. This place is amazing! First of all, I had to reschedule and then accidentally missed my second appointment time but they still managed to get me in and were really understanding about it all! This was my first tattoo. I've been to a couple other places in EL for consultations but they all seemed uninterested. Mark did a small heart tattoo on my wrist. Although it wasn't necessarily complicated, he made sure it was perfect (like literally redid the outline on my skin 3+ times until it was exactly how I wanted it). I got a dermal 4 days ago and I've already had to have it removed because it wasn't put in right went up to the shop to talk to them about it and nobody's answering the doors when the hours said they're open and try to call and nobody's answer the phone disappointed and will not be going back Read Less

I have serious issues with anxiety and panic, I can promise you this, Ink Therapy will work with you at every chance. I was nervous, My husband let my artist know and he was more than professional he was down to earth and calming. I was in a room next to someone else getting a tat as well, in the past in other shops this commotion has cause me to panic and well pass out and seize. Not at Ink Therapy, He never bothered me about my issues just got to it and starting conversation with us about fun stuff and humor. I did not pass out, I did not cry, I did not panic. I've had the worst luck with my past piercings from other various places. They all rejected, or didn't heal right even with proper after care. It was so bad I simply thought my body just wasn't meant for holes lol. I also find some places are a little more "casual" than professional which is totally cool, but only to a certain extent. I gave this place a try, and I will never go to another piercer! Malibu was the most professional piercer I've come across when it comes to showing that everything is clean/sterilized, and explaining everything that's going on during the whole process. His level of casual is just right too lol. I've had multiple things pierced now that have healed tremendously. I wouldn't recommend my friend/family to go anywhere else! Read Less

If I could leave 0 I would. My daughter wanted to get her septum pierced and I spoke with someone on the phone. He said she needed to be 16 unless they had the shop owners approval. He said still come in for her apt and he would reach the shop owner before then to get it. He made it sound like it wouldn't be a problem. My husband drove my daughter all the way there just to be told no and that they had no idea who I spoke to and asked if it was Corey. I don't know...they didn't say their name and I did t ask but I'm livid. I have a very upset daughter who believed she was going to be able to get it done. If they didn't think it was possible they should have said no on the phone or called me to let me know as they had my phone number to do so from an earlier voice message I left on their machine. I have been following Shawn on fb for a while to see how he worked, I finally was able to meet him while he did my tat, what an amazing person. I had a tat "fixed" that was done by another shop. Shawn is a true artist and I will go back to him when I get another tat done. I also have scheduled my husband to have his tat done. I got a tattoo done Saturday night by DP. He did such a great job. I love my new ink. I will definitely be back to see him. I'm already wanting to maybe add some words to my new tat. I was also here about 2 months ago for the valentines day special that's when I got my belly button pierced and then about 2 weeks ago I came for the new person (mailibo) and got my nose pierced. Karley gave me an awesome first tattoo. I felt comfortable. The shop is very clean. It's located in a big, white house in downtown Lansing. Hygienic practices were spot-on.
