After leaving 3 other local tattoo parlors in tears while seeking an artist to do a cover-up, I was referred to Danny at Rising Phoenix by a friend. When I walked in, the staff was so friendly and caring. Danny immediately set me at ease and set to work on collaborating with me for the tattoo I've always wanted. 4 hours later, I left feeling so completely happy with the results, I knew I needed to share my experience here in case anyone else out there has a tattoo they hate and have been told there's no hope. I drove an hour to get to this shop on recommendation from my girlfriend to get her a gift card for Christmas. I sat and waited 20 mins after the shop opened at noon and there was still nobody there. Getting my gift card from another shop. [reply to owner] idk how else I am supposed to find this information other than the internet, I even called your shop with nothing that tells me when you are open. Got my first tattoo done about a year ago here and wasn’t extremely happy with some of the lines but it was not terrible by any means, today I went in and a different artist, Alan fixed it and it looks wonderful now, also got another small tattoo today and that’s great also, would really recommend him!! They were soooo unprofessional! They got a 2 and not a 1 bc they were cheap. Yes i was a good price for what i got which was a terrible tattoo. All she had to do was stencil in birds and an outline of a heart which looks like a child drew it on me. Im so upset, now i have to pay more money to fix what they've done. Read Less

Not exactly the best. Went here for a touch up and a possible add on. Just got the touch up because Alan did not seem too interested in doing anything else. He also seemed to be the only one in the shop and as soon as another customer came in he jumped at the opportunity to help him instead of me. This was an uncomfortable experience. Trust these guys to do their job well, but when it comes to professionalism, I wouldn't. After having several piercings done here, the piercer began to no longer respect me or my boyfriend. I will NEVER go back to Rising Phoenix, as one of the most valued aspects of my piercer is mutual respect. I would much rather prefer the professionalism of Body Armor (Kalamazoo) or Mos Eisleys. I visited Rising Phoenix with my wife and the experience and the appointment was handled very professionally. My wife recieved her tattoo on her foot and I got mine on my left arm. My wife's tattoo is in memory of her deceased brother and I had one of my tattoos refinished and the other tattoo was a ambigram of my wife and daughter's name. Adam did the ambigram perfect and it is awesome to say the least. An ambigram is one name read one way and flipped it is the other name. Go see adam and check out an ambigram for yourself.
