I chose Harlequin to do a couple simple tattoos during the same session. My friend had Dawn do a big piece for her and said she was really friendly, so that's who I reached out to. I messaged her on her Instagram and she was very quick to reply (most artists in my experience suck at responding) and set up a date. The tattoo shop is right in downtown Hamtramck. Parking is simple, but there are meters so bring change just in case.I found the shop to be very clean, open and welcoming. I do wish there was separation between artist stations but it seems most places are doing away with privacy. Dawn was very friendly and helpful with finding placement and perfecting sizing for my pieces. The tattoo process was simple. Dawn was great to chat with. She had a nice way of explaining what she was working on as she went through the process. I love my tattoos and wouldn't hesitate to go to this shop in the future.

Very nice staff, clean and clearly well kept. The normal safety/sanitary protocols were in place. NOTE: they only take cash or direct pay via PayPal.
I worked with David for a very simple piece featuring just three words. He hand-drew it on the spot (which is what I wanted, as I didn't want to use a downloaded font). He drew up exactly what I had in mind and was careful in making the stencil and ensuring the placement was good.
It was a small job, but he was quick and efficient. The owner later mentioned that simple word tattoos are often harder than the complex--David's work was great.
First time experience and I can't say enough good things about Harlequin!

Every tattoo artist here is amazing! But I normally see Dawn. I love walking in and telling her what I want and then just letting her do her thing. Clean, bold lines. Can't wait to be back in there.

He has the patience of a saint, and simply won't give you a bad tattoo. period. if the design you've painstakingly selected is going to look like mud in 5-10 years, he'll offer you the best solution possible so you can still get your dream tattoo. He has a light hand, a great eye for color (i've had a few of my tattoos for 7 years now, and they still look like the most vibrant stickers ever,) he is meticulously clean, and he's an awesome storyteller.He absolutely has your best interest at hand and wants to give you the best tattoo you've ever had. So sit perfectly still, bring him some macaroons, and you won't be disappointed.

I chose Harlequin to do a couple simple tattoos during the same session. My friend had Dawn do a big piece for her and said she was really friendly, so that's who I reached out to.
