Steve did a great job on the tattoo it self BUT, I was less than impressed. And maybe I've been in the healthcare game too long. The lobby seemed clean so I assumed the rest of the building would be. I gave them a break cuz you could tell the building was old and it was on division st by a not so much desirable neighborhood. When I got back to the tattooing area The walls are scuffed up the floors you can tell hasn't been swept in a month or more. And in dire need of a good mopping. He didn't sanitize the table where he kept the tools and needles, all he did was lay down a barrier. He got out everything before washing his hands and putting on gloves. All the needles were new in the package tho. His desk was cluttered with trash and other non tattooing items. He didn't replace the plastic barrier on the tattooing cords. Nor did he change the plastic wrap on the arm/ hand holder. He didn't wash his hand before putting on gloves and didn't wash them after either. I didn't wanna saying anything because #1 he was intimidating and #2 you don't piss off the man that's gonna ink you. I have NO idea how they pass infection control licensing. I write this in hope the shop sees this and will better their establishment. It has potential but they need to pick up the broom. Quit taking short cuts. I hope I don't get an infection. Edited September 26 2018. Five days later.Now that I've had five days of the healing process, you can tell that he didn't even color it in all the way. And the outlines look blowed out. This was no movie Tattoo or or apprentice. This was an older man in his possible 50s. So most definitely has many years of Tattoo experience. And another thing I want to add to my review is that and as he was tattooing he had his But resting on his knee. And he is not a little person so his foot and knee Matt the height of where my tattooing body part was city. Five days later I'm even more dissatisfied. As most of you probably know you don't truly see the artwork until after it started to heal.

I fell in love with Jaime the moment I met her for her passion for tattooing and the fact that she is always up for a challenge especially if it is a meaningful tattoo. She is so talented and easy to get along with. She goes above and beyond. She has tattooed me multiple times with me just giving her an idea and her drawing up something I fall in love with. She also did a cover up for me, covering two small tattoos that you can’t tell they were ever there. Also good a last minute tattoo with my husband for our anniversary from Dylan and it turned out perfect. Skot has also been tattooing my husband for about 18 years or more and done amazing work, flash and free hand. I would recccomend this shop to anyone 💜

Got two tattoos from different artists at Magnum. My first is a big bald eagle done by Alex Del. Gonna miss that guy as I was planning to get loads more from him. Too bad he's moving to Lansing. The second is a small knuckle anchor done by the one and only DB - Dylan Barker aka Born Flat. Great and interesting guy. Pays close attention to small details. I was expecting to get one design, but 5 minutes into making the appointment he whipped up over 8 designs, and let me pick out one. Great people overall. I think i'm going to try and get a tattoo from every artist they have at the shop. Would def recommend.
The lobby is very nice, it's ambiance feels almost like a movie theater. They have plenty of posters, and books with different tattoo designs in them. They even have an Ed Hardy original flash poster. Go here if you want a tattoo in GR, enough said.

The least they could do was call back before we drove 45 minutes to come in and ask if they could. Get told they DO NOT do piercings anymore. Ask if there is any other places nearby and one guy got shitty with us when we asked for an address/ directions because we were unfamiliar with the area. Appreciate the man who did help us though!

And we simply asked for other places around and a possible address (because we aren't from around GR or familiar with the area) and that same guy didn't want to tell us a place and told us to google it. Thank you to his Co worker who gave us the address to another place.

After reading reviews of numerous shops, I decided to go back to Magnum....after 25 years. I got my 1st and only tattoo here (with same bestie!) in 1992! It's still there! Nick chatted us up as soon as we walked in. He was friendly and was happy to answer my questions. He said he had an artist there who could do my tattoo then! I met Dylan (which is my son's name so I thought that was cool!) and was immediately happy with my decision to come here. He never made me feel silly for my choice in tattoo and treated me with respect while able to laugh and have fun. My tattoo, though simple, was handwriting so it definitely needed a steady hand. I couldn't be happier!

I went here for my first tattoo (2010) and my first piercing (2011.) I have since gotten tattoos and piercings elsewhere, so I can be completely fair when I say that this is the cleanest shop I have been to. My tattoo turned out beautifully and my piercing was painless and easy. I went back last week for a septum piercing at The Amulet (net door, part of Magnum) and it turned out great! This shop is very clean and well managed and makes you feel comfortable, whether you're going in for a tattoo or a piercing. The staff is extremely professional, too. Can't recommend highly enough!

5 years ago I got 2 Celtic tattoos at Magnum. One was quite large and the other was small. They're awesome! I love them as much today as I did back then. I did research before choosing Magnum. I was looking for an artist who was good with Celtic designs and color. And I was looking for a place that was clean and safe. I found both at Magnum. I can't remember the artists name but she was awesome. We worked together on the designs. The whole experience there was great. I would recommend Magnum to anyone.

I went for a double rook but she was totally honest after the first one went in and my ear immediately swelled. I'm a one piercing a time kinda gal. I appreciate honesty because a second rate place wouldn't be so honest. They also have a nice selection of quality jewelry such as Neometal and Industrial Strength. Go there and you won't be disappointed.

Bill was great and took a lot of pride in his workm, I've been to a couple of different artists some were really good but pride in their work is important. Everything was very clean and everyone who worked was fantastic! I was given a really inexpensive quote for a fairly small tattoo that was old (over 20 years) and had lost most of it's color thanks to a ton of sun and a pan of fried chicken. Bill didn't think it needed a new outline but after all the color was done, and a small area that needed to be outlined, he decided to finely reoutline all of it for the same price. I was asked if it was alright for him to leave his mark, along with the old one that was done by an artist in Austin Texas, this let me know he was doing his best even though the origanal work was someone elses he still cared about how it looked when it was finished. It's been several days and it looks great, I'm even thinking about going back and adding a dragonfly to it!Terri50

I got my tongue and tragis pierced at Magnum. I cried both times, even though the lady told me it wasn't going to hurt. She was right, it didn't. It was kinda cool because she just joked around and tried to make me relax and calm down and then before I knew it everything was done. It was awesome because I was scared to change my tongue ring at first so she scheduled me an appointment and I came back six weeks later and she changed it for me and told me what balls would be better for my teeth and which ones would eat at the enamel faster and what not. It was also cheaper than most places around, but it was very sterile and clean and everything was brand new.

This price sounds sketch, like I paid a total stranger to pierce me in a back alley or something. Not the case. I didn't have any problems with the piercings at all. No infections. Don't let the price freak you out...the place was not the fanciest, but it was clean. Also, don't let the pictures of women with pierced clits get to you...who wants to go to a clean cut tattoo/piercing parlor anyway? That's half the fun!The lady who pierced us was really funny and made you feel comfortable. Her name was ryan. Also, I came here with a friend who wanted a tattoo. Their pricing for tattoos is a little bit more expensive, which is fine, because tattoos are a little bit more permanent:)

I got my first (and currently only) tattoo here a few years ago. My sister went a few years even prior to that and had a great experience with one of the tattoo artists, so when I went, I asked for him. My friend and I both had designs that we wanted him to use and he did a fabulous job of transferring them and making them look exactly like what we brought to him. (He has since left the place so there is no need to use his name, and besides I don't remember it :) Anyway, this place was immaculate, they play by all the rules. I would definitely go back if I ever decided to get another tattoo.

I think i'm going to try and get a tattoo from every artist they have at the shop. Would def recommend.
The lobby is very nice, it's ambiance feels almost like a movie theater. They have plenty of posters, and books with different tattoo designs in them. They even have an Ed Hardy original flash poster. Go here if you want a tattoo in GR, enough said.

The least they could do was call back before we drove 45 minutes to come in and ask if they could. Get told they DO NOT do piercings anymore. Ask if there is any other places nearby and one guy got shitty with us when we asked for an address/ directions because we were unfamiliar with the area. Appreciate the man who did help us though!

And we simply asked for other places around and a possible address (because we aren't from around GR or familiar with the area) and that same guy didn't want to tell us a place and told us to google it. Thank you to his Co worker who gave us the address to another place.

After reading reviews of numerous shops, I decided to go back to Magnum....after 25 years. I got my 1st and only tattoo here (with same bestie!) in 1992! It's still there! Nick chatted us up as soon as we walked in. He was friendly and was happy to answer my questions. He said he had an artist there who could do my tattoo then! I met Dylan (which is my son's name so I thought that was cool!) and was immediately happy with my decision to come here. He never made me feel silly for my choice in tattoo and treated me with respect while able to laugh and have fun. My tattoo, though simple, was handwriting so it definitely needed a steady hand. I couldn't be happier!

I went here for my first tattoo (2010) and my first piercing (2011.) I have since gotten tattoos and piercings elsewhere, so I can be completely fair when I say that this is the cleanest shop I have been to. My tattoo turned out beautifully and my piercing was painless and easy. I went back last week for a septum piercing at The Amulet (net door, part of Magnum) and it turned out great! This shop is very clean and well managed and makes you feel comfortable, whether you're going in for a tattoo or a piercing. The staff is extremely professional, too. Can't recommend highly enough!

5 years ago I got 2 Celtic tattoos at Magnum. One was quite large and the other was small. They're awesome! I love them as much today as I did back then. I did research before choosing Magnum. I was looking for an artist who was good with Celtic designs and color. And I was looking for a place that was clean and safe. I found both at Magnum. I can't remember the artists name but she was awesome. We worked together on the designs. The whole experience there was great. I would recommend Magnum to anyone.

I went for a double rook but she was totally honest after the first one went in and my ear immediately swelled. I'm a one piercing a time kinda gal. I appreciate honesty because a second rate place wouldn't be so honest. They also have a nice selection of quality jewelry such as Neometal and Industrial Strength. Go there and you won't be disappointed.

Bill was great and took a lot of pride in his workm, I've been to a couple of different artists some were really good but pride in their work is important. Everything was very clean and everyone who worked was fantastic! I was given a really inexpensive quote for a fairly small tattoo that was old (over 20 years) and had lost most of it's color thanks to a ton of sun and a pan of fried chicken. Bill didn't think it needed a new outline but after all the color was done, and a small area that needed to be outlined, he decided to finely reoutline all of it for the same price. I was asked if it was alright for him to leave his mark, along with the old one that was done by an artist in Austin Texas, this let me know he was doing his best even though the origanal work was someone elses he still cared about how it looked when it was finished. It's been several days and it looks great, I'm even thinking about going back and adding a dragonfly to it!Terri50

I got my tongue and tragis pierced at Magnum. I cried both times, even though the lady told me it wasn't going to hurt. She was right, it didn't. It was kinda cool because she just joked around and tried to make me relax and calm down and then before I knew it everything was done. It was awesome because I was scared to change my tongue ring at first so she scheduled me an appointment and I came back six weeks later and she changed it for me and told me what balls would be better for my teeth and which ones would eat at the enamel faster and what not. It was also cheaper than most places around, but it was very sterile and clean and everything was brand new.

This price sounds sketch, like I paid a total stranger to pierce me in a back alley or something. Not the case. I didn't have any problems with the piercings at all. No infections. Don't let the price freak you out...the place was not the fanciest, but it was clean. Also, don't let the pictures of women with pierced clits get to you...who wants to go to a clean cut tattoo/piercing parlor anyway? That's half the fun!The lady who pierced us was really funny and made you feel comfortable. Her name was ryan. Also, I came here with a friend who wanted a tattoo. Their pricing for tattoos is a little bit more expensive, which is fine, because tattoos are a little bit more permanent:)

I got my first (and currently only) tattoo here a few years ago. My sister went a few years even prior to that and had a great experience with one of the tattoo artists, so when I went, I asked for him. My friend and I both had designs that we wanted him to use and he did a fabulous job of transferring them and making them look exactly like what we brought to him. (He has since left the place so there is no need to use his name, and besides I don't remember it :) Anyway, this place was immaculate, they play by all the rules. I would definitely go back if I ever decided to get another tattoo.
