I had an amazing experience at Love Tattoo and although I live 12 hours away in North Carolina, I hope to get another tattoo done here in the future.  This shop is really beautiful-clean, well maintained, awesome artwork everywhere.  The shop owner Dav is super friendly and great at responding to emails, phone calls and keep up with clients.  The shop is slightly off the main drag in Jenison and when I pulled up, I thought that they were closed but we had made appointments months in advance, so we were good to go!Tony Putt did my tattoo and I am so grateful for this experience.  I've been following Tony on instagram for a while now @sharktoothtony and fell in love with his tattoo designs and use of color.  As my sister and I were planning on sister tattoos, I decided to go to Tony and my sister to Dav.  For our tattoos, we wanted a cow skull and flowers but because we had different aesthetics in mind, each tattoo artist designed a totally different tattoo to fit our wants/needs.  When we arrived at the studio and Tony showed me the design, I nearly gasped as it was absolutely gorgeous and exactly what I had dreamed of and more.  I am artist myself but am always shocked and pleasantly surprised at how when given some simple prompts and ideas for tattoos, many tattoo artists can come up with the most amazing designs perfect for a tattoo.  Tony's design was the perfect mix of art nouveau, modern, and a mix of bold and delicate.  Tony's studio is really beautifully decorated with dark navy walls and artwork covering nearly every square of space.  He had traditional flash on the walls, colorful paintings, and taxidermy animal heads.  The space felt comfortable and he provided me with a pillow for comfort. I love getting tattoos but I hate the process of getting them done. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise, they hurt like hell.  The whole time, like every.single.minute.  Tony was really relaxed and made me feel comfortable the whole time.  He is professional and the tattoo turned out incredibly gorgeous.  I am so excited about this whole experience and hope that I get to come back to him again someday! I have been to several tattoo establishments and the "vibe" is just different here. Artists are respectful, professional, listen to understand, and compliment the work of each other. They aren't taking smoke breaks and chatting with their buddies who just come into the shop to hang out. I really liked the professionalism. I had a tattoo of Wisconsin and Michigan done elsewhere - but did not get the fullness of the flowers I was hoping for. I really wanted the negative space (the states) to pop inside a border of flowers.... So I went to Love following a recommendation from a friend. First, I met with Nate Galusha who took a look and then recommended that Tony Putt do the work since he is "the flower guy." I could not be more pleased with the results. All of the artists are so friendly, and have a good sense of humor. I like that they all check in on each other, and encourage each other's work during the day. It's a comfortable, laid back atmosphere. Each artist has their own style so it's a good place to go for variety depending on what you want. I've had 4 tattoos from them, so anytime I'm in Michigan they're definitely my spot! Read Less

My wife got a tattoo here a couple months ago. The artist did a great job. My only issue is that the artist was supposed to get back to me on a design for my tattoo. He never did. We sent him a text asking about it. Still nothing. That was kind of a bummer. Read Less

I don't see myself ever needing to go to a different parlor... Everyone there seems to to be great all different styles, so when going in with an idea they will point you to who they feel would be perfect. They want you to be happy as a potential returning customer. Read Less

This place was great! Everyone was nice, great atmosphere!! Stephen #ImNotKenny was amazing!! Super friendly and incredibly talented!! He has some amazing art pieces hanging up! Definitely check out his Michael Jordan drawing. It is unreal.....You have to see it to know what I am talking about! I recommend this place for sure!! I had a piece done back in August by Stephen. It was a great experience! Stephen was incredibly patient during the 3 hours of tattooing. The shop is extremely clean and well-maintained, and the staff was all very friendly. Stephen did an amazing job (I receive compliments on my tattoo all the time!) and will definitely be going back to Love Tattoo and Stephen for future work and to add on to what I got. Read Less

I went to Love Tattoo today for my first ever tattoo.  I was a little skeptical about getting one even tho it was a small one but Dave was so helpful and talked through it and it was done in no time. I went to Love to get my Tragus pierced. I was pierced by Pierre (who is AMAZING). I felt incredibly comfortable. It was a clean environment, artist's work on every surface including the chalkboard. Pierre was super friendly and explained every step of the process. He even saved my ears my explaining that two prior peircings I had weren't healing properly and had to be removed. He walked me through why they were unsafe and continued to walk me through every step of my new piercing. The prices are higher than your two for thirties but you have to pay for good work and I am more than satisfied with what i got. I definitely plan on returning for more piercings and some ink and I would recommend them to anyone. Read Less

I have two beautiful pieces of art by Josh Grable at Love Tattoo. Josh is always clean and professional. He also is very knowledgable in his craft. I ventured into Love Tattoo not knowing what to expect. I'd seen pictures of the shop online and some of the artists' work (although it would be helpful if they added some more). I had sent in my design ahead of time so I only had to wait a few minutes to get started. The tattoo artist that I went with was Josh G. (recommended by a friend). He was really cool! We made jokes back and forth during the tattoo which helped me relax. Since the tattoo took less time than expected, he lowered the price from what he quoted me at before we started. Love Tattoo is a clean and fun place to get work done. Much better than Laughing Gremlin (rip-off city). I don't know what the first reviewer was talking about in regards to Love being too expensive (good work is supposed to cost a little more). And yes, they do want your money...that's why they opened a business. Anyway, go to Love Tattoo if you're in West Michigan. Read Less

I went and brought my tattoo design to the guys at Love Tattoo. They quoted me a price that was ridiculously high for what I wanted. The place appeared very clean and the quotes on piercings were pretty cheap. However, the tattoos were very high. The guy who greeted me was not very friendly and was just looking to rip me off.
