Mark did an incredibly amazing job on a half sleeve on my 4 years ago. After my mom passed away in August 2016, naturally I came back. At that time he told me he was booked until January 2017, which was disappointing but I know he was with the wait. 2 days before my scheduled appointment, he called to tell me he lost all my pictures. I brought them up to him the next day and I knew there was no way for him to have a drawing ready the next day. I asked if my son could take my appointment and we would reschedule. Mark agreed but told me if my son had walked in off the street, he wouldn't of done his tattoo at all because it was too small. I waited about 1 1/2 month's after, what was supposed to be my tattoo appointment and still hadn't heard from Mark, so I text him and through that conversation I learned that I was now going to have to wait until January 2018!! It's just my opinion but I think it is wrong that I have to wait a year, due to him losing all my pictures. I'm sorry Mark but I am going to have to go elsewhere. Read Less

My sister and I wanted mark but he was booked. We were recommended to his partner. We got a small ass little matching tattoo and the guy charged us 100 a piece. 60 at max was way more reasonable. I regret not asking him why. We didn't even bother to tip because we felt so ripped off. I will recommend Mark Somo who seem more reasonable but No to the other guy. Poor customer service via phone! I called early when they opened, and was told to call back in 30 mins to see if I could be tattooed that day. I called an hour later and the guy stated the other artist has an appointment and couldnt do any tattoos!!! Which I find this hard to believe since they are open for 8 hours and you have 1 appointment?!?! I certainly wont be going here. Read Less

Mark has now done 5 tattoos for me, all top notch work. He is informative and patient and offers guidance and artistry throughout the decision making process.I got a lower arm sleeve done today (3/21/16) and sat with him for over 4 hours. During my time there, he received 2 phone calls from fellow reviewer Andrea J. During the first call, Mark explained that he was booked for the day and that Xander would be there soon so to call back in a bit to check his availability. Again, Mark was in the middle of tattooing me and answered his watch phone with his NOSE so that the call was not ignored. He could not take down a number or message to pass along at the time, it only made sense to request a call back. When Andrea called again, we were still tattooing and Xander had told us that he was booked as well so that message was relayed to Andrea. Within minutes of hanging up the phone, Andrea posted her 1 star review. As a witness/bystander to both conversations, I can say that Mark was nothing short of honest and helpful (though his accent is thick). Pretty ridiculous to leave a negative review on her part. I had a great experience here. Being my first tattoo, I had no idea how this works (was I supposed to call? How quick could I get in? Are they able to do the tattoo I wanted? How much will this cost? How much will it hurt?)They were super cool and answered everything. I was able to walk in and book an appointment 1-2 hours later, and they are very talented so they can do anything.Xander was my artist and was very professional, nice, fun, talented and he took really good care of me.I absolutely will be going back for my next tattoo and highly recommend going here. Had such a great experience at this cute, clean Tattoo Shop downtown Ferndale! My bestie and I came for a matching written quote tattoo and we both are very happy with the work Mark created! When I first called I spoke to Mark the owner of the shop and he was very accommodating, helpful, and pleasant... The great experience continued when we came for our appointment! Stumbled upon this tattoo shop after being turned away from another place nearby. The other shop said the font I wanted was too hard to draw and they didn't have a computer to create an image. This place is AWESOME.  Mark the artist/owner is super friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and above all, a great tattoo artist.  I came in with a pretty specific idea of what I wanted, but he made some recommendations to take the tattoo to an even higher level.  He was really helpful to my friend who didn't come with a specific drawing of what she wanted but rather pieces of things and an "idea".  Mark put everything together for her and then worked with her to get the image just right.  The shop itself is clean, open, and inviting.  And the TV in the corner to watch movies while you're getting work done helps pass the time.  I would recommend this shop to anyone - whether you're a seasoned pro or someone looking to get their first tattoo. AAAAAwesome place i got my one full sleeve there and my other half sleeve and its been about a year and the ink still looks great and has not faded will definitely always get my tattoos here also to mention they are very sanitary and is always changing gloves like 10 pairs through out a 8 hour tattoo from a 1 to 10 i would rate them an 11 Read Less
