Renee has done both my nostrils and she has a really good bedside manner and makes sure to inform you of the healing process. Guides you through each step. I really like how my piercings have healed and turned out. I got my left nostril in Oct 2016 and my right at the beginning of June 2018. Would definitely recommend her and this studio if you want any work done.
I also got a tattoo done by Johnny in August of 2016 and he did really awesome, drew it from scratch.

I went in for a re-piercing, which can be difficult. Kenny, and the woman behind the counter (sorry I forgot your name) were amazing. Took a lot of time to think through the best choices and everything came out great! I also got a visit in with an artist and am returning Wed for my first tattoo. Not 5 star because of the convenience fee on credit cards...a pain but not a major issue.

I have been coming to splash for the last 5 years. I do love this shop and have recommended it many times over the years. The staff and piercing/tattoo rooms are clean and well kept. I came in today and the experience was quite off. I patiently waited 45 minutes for the piercing artist because I dropped my Monroe piercing in the sink and needed to be sized for new jewelry. I had no problem waiting for good service. While waiting the receptionist took numerous phonecalls and acted very short and rude with each person that called. I was called back to the room and told that they had no jewelry in stock so they would refund my money. I wish they would have known they had no standard jewelry when i came in to avoid the wait. However they graciously refunded my money and I left the tip due to the piercer being very nice and thorough. Then the receptionist refunded me $80.00 instead of $40.00 so she had to charge my card $40.00 again. Luckily I have the money to cover the wait for the refund to come through but others may not have that luxury so this is a problem. I didn't want my piercing to close so I went to another shop for jewelry which was unsuccessful. Then I drove to my mother's house to get the original post I was given at splash but still needed help to put it in. I called splash to set up a time where i could come and get help to put the piercing in. The receptionist rudely explained that they may not be able to put the jewelry in because it depends on the threading etc. etc. Understanding I said "okay may I please make an appointment to come in" (hoping to avoid waiting again for nothing" She snapped back, "you can just come whenever" and hung up. I decided to not come back in because I was so irritated. I anticipate the shop losing additional business due to the rude attitude of this receptionist.

Always a great experience at Splash! Renee did my nostril back in October and I love it. Everyone is so friendly and it's EXTREMELY CLEAN AND TODAY!! In February we took my 5 year old in to see Renee and Tyler to have her ears pierced and even though my daughter changed her mind saying "I think I actually want to wait until I'm older" she received an amazing service! Tyler sat with her while she told him every joke she knows and I decided to change my jewelry out so they didn't lose the service. We will always go back to Splash!

Got my first two tattoos here when I was in college and didn't know how to look for a better place. Both immediately became blowouts and lost their shape, and one is almost entirely scar tissue. My artist both times told me that 'it was impossible to do a tattoo that small' about a half dollar sized piece. So glad I found better parlors to go to. If you're a college kid and think this is a good option, think again. I wish I would have.

Nice and friendly staff, very hygienic, and I love the overall aesthetic of the place. I also need to give the highest props to my tattoo artist, Jon Leathers for making a wonderful piece of art! Definitely going back to him for any more realistic tattoos, and totally worth the price :)

I cannot say enough about how fantastic this shop is; so welcoming, extremely clean, very professional staff and artists, and I love that there are individual rooms to make your experience personal with you and your piercer and artist. I've been coming here for a while now and Perry Stratton is the only artist I've trusted since getting tattooed. I shoot him an email with ideas and he comes up with the most beautiful pieces that I don't even need to tweak before he begins his work! Will definitely be back for more!

Highly recommend getting a tattoo here, friendly staff and very clean! After going to a nearby tattoo shop, who messed up my reservation and was rude about it, I went here to see if I could schedule for a tattoo. The lady at the front desk was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. I showed her a picture of my tattoo, and lucky enough one of the artists was free and was able to do my tattoo right then. I had my tattoo done by Johnny Five, and this being my first one, I appreciated how he explained everything to me during and after getting the tattoo. Plus, the tattoo looked great!

I've been there for a piercing and jewelry changes multiple times with mixed success. DO NOT GO ON APPRENTICE PIERCER DAYS. I went on a Thursday to get some jewelry switched out, fairly standard, and I also needed to get a shorter bar for my tongue piercing. They didn't tell me that it was apprentice day and I didn't find out until I noticed a sign on my next visit. The apprentice didn't measure my tongue, just eyeballed it and ended up giving me a bar that was too short. Nobody more experienced checked his work. I had never gotten a properly fitted bar so I didn't know how it was supposed to feel, but after three days the pain got so bad that I wasn't able to eat and could barely talk, so I went back and someone did it right. They didn't refund me the cost of the jewelry, so even though they gave me half off the replacement I ended up paying way more than I intended to for jewelry I can't even use.

Clean, professional environment, awesome staff. I've been pierced twice here (helix and nostril) and I love coming here! I had Kevin the first time, and Andy the second. My helix ended up having some healing issues last year, and Renee was incredibly helpful getting it sorted out. My nose piercing this week was quick and easy, and Andy was very calm, friendly and reassuring. Don't be worried about the price - it's worth it!

Staff was friendly enough when me and my best friend went in to get our tattoos, I got gears around a symbol on my inner ankle and the artist mentioned it being a difficult area so we made the tattoo smaller and raised it above the callous line of my foot. Looked great until it healed completely and some lines needed a little more definition and one even needed to be completely filled. Since the guarantee their tattoos (not to mention touch ups are standard? This isn't my first tattoo) I went in to get it touched up and the artist is away until at least July (I got it done in November) and no one else will do it unless I pay the $50 minimum fee... the tattoo itself cost just barely over that and I'm asking for a few lines sooooo no thank you. I will not be back, I'm getting another tattoo this week and taking my business to Tattoo Shop because they're less expensive and do higher quality tattoos that last. And actually guarantee their work.

Had an issue with the navel jewelry I bought being too small and painful (they measure you before they sell you any jewelry). At first I called and the receptionist said they would not exchange it and I was very disappointed because I really liked it and it was kind of pricey. BUT I was later contacted by Renee and she told me when she would be in and that she would help me get one that fit properly. She was extremely kind and I now have something that fits right! Will definitely now be coming back for future jewelry purchases because they have the best selection in the Lansing area!

We were able to come in for a pre-tour, they allowed us to schedule 2 piercing experts at once. The piercers explained everything they were going to do & were very kind & patient. It really could not have been a better experience for us & her ears look amazing.

After looking at many, many places in lansing and east lansing, my fiancé and i decided on Splash of Color. They looked the most professional and clean to us which hooked us in. Staff was all around quite nice and friendly. We set up and appointment and they told us we were going to have johnny as our artist. I can't recommend him enough. He was funny and friendly, did a good job of explaining what he was doing, a good job of answering any questions i had, and of course he tattoed exactly what we wanted. My tattoo was simple, but my fiancé's was more complex and he drew it perfectly. He made sure we were comfortable the entire time and let us know if we wanted a break we were welcome to take a break. Overall a great experience with my fiancé and i highly recommend going to johnny for a tattoo.

I really enjoyed my experience at Splash of color; I got a my first tattoo today by Johnny Five. I went to places all over lansing when I was trying to decide where I should get my tattoo done; I chose Splash of color because they had the cleanest and most comfortable environment. I was very pleased with my artist as well, I was quite nervous before getting my tattoo but Johnny assured me that it would be okay. He also told me that I could take a break if I needed one. I really appreciated how Johnny made sure I was comfortable the entire time, we also talked a lot during the tattoo and that helped. I'm also in love with my tattoo!! Johnny Five is a great artist, he was a very funny and friendly person, I would definitely recommend going to Splash of Color and scheduling an appointment with him if you want an awesome tattoo!

I have been tatted here and I can say this is by far the nicest tattoo parlor I've ever been to. It's very clean and the artists are amazing. My brother would drive an hour and a half to get his tattoos here for years before his artist left. His girlfriend has gotten piercings here and they do a great job with those as well. Their prices are a little on the high end but you can get coupons in the local papers (State News, Black Sheep, etc.) sometimes and if you know someone who has gone here you can get a referral discount too. Also, you get what you pay for. If you want high quality artwork, this is definitely the place to go!

This place is great! Very polite and professional staff ,I got my first tattoo from here I had a consolation with Jon (Jedi) I had an idea of what I wanted and he helped me turn my idea into a master piece! He took his own time and drew up my design and put his special touch on it. I had to do two sessions for a total of 11 hours, each time Jon was very understanding when ever I needed breaks. The price was very fair. One thing to keep in mind is cheep work isn't good and good work isn't cheep. While getting tattooed and taking breaks I was able to see people getting pierced the staff from what I observed was steady and went in depth with there customers on proper care for piercings. They also sell great lotion for after care products for cheep. If your interested in going here I recommend it go to there website I found it very helpful when choosing an artist this place is all about the customers they even sent me a Christmas card I will defiantly be back for more ink.

My daughter had her septum and tragus pierced here (two different guys and I don't remember their names, both were super nice); my son his ear (by Renee and she is an absolute sweetheart!). Everyone we've worked with from the front desk to the "artists" were great. Excellent explanation of everything they needed to know. Extremely clean environment. They're pricey... but obviously they're not a mall kiosk piercer... so be prepared. The piercing not so much, but the jewelry is ($25 for a ball stud for my son seems high but who knows?). I'd recommend them.

When I flew back to Oregon where I live now, a REAL tattoo artist told me that it was "blowout". It results from the artist not properly adjusting the depth of their tool to accommodate for different thicknesses of skin. So now I have a tattoo the size of a grapefruit right on my chest that has a VERY blurry edge all along the top. One star, as this would have easily been prevented of the artist knew how to use his tool.

I went in for an ear piercing and while I agree that they are extremely overpriced, the thing that bothered me the most was how incredibly rude the ladies working the front desk were! They were extremely short with me and unhelpful. They acted as if it were such an inconvenience that I dare come in (and spend over $100!) for an ear piercing. When I requested to look at jewelry they were impatient with me for taking longer than 30 seconds to pick out an earring. Sorry it takes me longer than a minute to decide which piece of jewelry I want to be in my ear consistently for the next 6-12 months. It was just a very unwelcoming environment from the moment I walked in, so next time I go drop over 100 dollars on piercings it's going to be from a place that acts as if they actually want my business, instead of acting like I'm an inconvenience.

While Splash is definitely reputable sanitary wise and location wise...it's insanely over priced and has ugly jewelry for the insane price. $40 minimum for an ear lobe piercing (jewelry included) is insane. And I was convinced to get a size larger stud for my nose and was told it wouldn't hurt and I'd barely notice... it hurt so badly afterwards that I just took it out that day. $35 wasted. Go somewhere else!

I couldn't get some back in.. Fun times, I tell ya. Since I was getting queezy doing it myself I decided to stop by here, instead.While I was waiting for Renee, the Anatometal jewelry case caught my eye, because how could it not..the brand sells beautiful, quality body jewelry. I ended up buying a new stud for my tragus as well as a turquoise item (turquoise.. which totally made my day!). Since I purchased jewelry there was no actual charge for Renee's help with my minor problems, and with some struggle and gentle pursuasion I was good to go within 15 minutes. Everything total set me back about $100. I agree that the place could be considered more expensive than others.. but here's the thing.. I really just don't mess around with my health and safety. I gladly pay for a clean, sterile, professional environment when needles and blood borne pathogens are involved. I'm not saying less expensive places aren't safe, I'm just saying that I don't mind spending money here.. I feel comfortable, the people are friendly, the facility is nice and I appreciate their dedication to quality. If/when I end up with that inevitable itch of wanting something new.. I'll return again in a heartbeat!

I had been thinking of getting a daith piercing for awhile. I called yesterday to inquire about some specifics. The woman I spoke to was nice and provided good information. She scheduled me an appointment for that evening with Andy.Andy was professional and gave me detailed information about the piercing process and the aftercare. I don't have any plans for more piercings but I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone for the service. Bottom line: clean, kind, knowledgeable, skilledHelpful tip: they take cash and credit but charge a 5% service fee for the credit cards.

I thought they would work with me to find the best version of what I wanted but they are all about rushing you to get their next client. They don't care. I would never come back to this shop. The prices are outrageous and they try to justify it by making customers believe their surgical grade steel is something special. It's not, it's the same grade jewelry and piercing supplies that ever other shop uses. When I took my roommate here for her 18th to get her lobes pierced a second time they wanted us to pay $30.00 for the piercings plus an additionally $30.00 for the cheapest jewelry they offer. I have 12 piercings myself from shops near my home town and NEVER have I ever seen such ridiculous prices. Some of their jewelry was priced as high as $53.00. This shop is a rip off and not worth the money.

I don't recommend splash of color for many reasons. I myself just turned 18 and I hate nothing more than being treated like I don't belong or don't fit it. They were flat out rude about all of the questions I asked as if I wasn't being serious. One of my friends tried joking with them to lighten and the mood and it was just rudeness again. So aside from the shady customer service, the prices are ridiculous.

I've seen reviews that called this place expensive. Hmmmmm, nope! This was my first tattoo, and probably my only. So I wasn't out for Walmart prices. I was also very nervous, but the cleanliness and friendliness was comforting. I got a full color tattoo that is about 6x4 inches and it cost $150. Thats not pricey in my book, not too much to pay for a piece of artwork that I'll wear for the rest of my life. My tattoo healed within days with no problems at all, which I attribute to the skill of the artist and the care they take to keep the place clean. Two thumbs up.

I have to say this place has such a good energy and feel to it. It is super clean and comfortable. The staff is very helpful, professional, and knowledgeable from a phone call to greeting to follow-up. I spoke with Emily on the phone and she spent a good deal of time speaking with me BEFORE I even walked in the door. I had my nipples pierced by Renee and Andy (done tandem). Both Renee and Andy were excellent. They answered all my questions and made sure I was comfortable during the entire procedure. In fact they did such a good job I decided to go back for a VCH. Renee is definitely someone who wants to make sure you are happy with your experience and piercings. During the VCH she wanted to make sure she was placing it just right for me and consulted with Kevin, the lead piercer. He was very nice and made sure I was OK every step of the way. I would highly recommend all three piercers to anyone! I see a lot of people complain about the price, but in my opinion you pay for quality and Splash of Color is definitely worth it!

i absolutely hate hate HATE this place. they have the rudest staff i have ever come across in a business. I've had not only one horrible experience, but TWO. the first time i went in to look for some new plugs for my ears. i walked in the door and not a single employee looked at me, greeted me, acknowledged my existence, nothing. So i walk over to the case with all of the various jewelery in there and i literally stand for about 10 mins while i watch the employees run around like i wasnt even there. you'd think someone would ask if i needed any help with anything or if i needed to see something, or even that they'd be with me in a second because they were helping another customer, but no one said anything the entire time i was there. HORRIBLE customer service. The second time i went in, i was going to go purchase a can of H2Ocean. i went in with a few of my friends and as they looked at the various pictures of tattoos i went over to the counter to ask for what i needed. the girl behind the desk didnt even look up and when she finally did she kind of rolled her eyes and asked me what i needed help with. i bluntly told her i came for h2Ocean and the can was $13...i've gotten it for cheaper elsewhere. she pretty much bagged it up, tossed it on the counter and said nothing else. this place is horrible and i would never set foot in there again.

I don't care what what this stuff says under here! I went to these people and their prices were cheep! I needed help because it was my first time getting a tattoo. They were the nicest people ever to me! Brian walked right up to me and helped me pick out an artist. After i choose brian because he does amazing tribal, he sketched it out right there is 10 minutes tops. As i waited the girls that work in there talked to me and were super nice. Brian gave me my price and helped me pick a date that was right for ME! This is an amazing tattoo shop. They are super clean and do an amazing job. I would recommend going to them.

I recently got my nose pierced at Splash of Color and every person I came in contact with was helpful, friendly and professional. The piercer (Andy) was awesome and did a fantastic job! The whole process was virtually painless and they make sure that they tell you exactly what's going on every minute you're there. I would definitely recommend them to anyone and will be getting my next tattoo there for sure!

I and my wife have had horrible experiences there. Our friends will not go either. The artists we dealt with were just plain arogant. The environment was almost hostile. I hate to speak so poorly of a business because I am sure that not all of their artists are like that, but that was just our experience. I will not return, nor will many of our friends.

I went to Splash of Color Tattoo in East Lansing to consult with an artist about getting my first tattoo. I wanted to get the tattoo on my ankle but the artist told me that they don't do them there because the artwork will fade faster. Ok, thanks for the warning, that's a good thing to know. I said I was still willing to pay to get it done on my ankle.... the artist refused again because he said that it's the artist's artwork and he just won't do it. Hello!! I drew the design and I'm a customer willing to pay for a tattoo! He was quite rude and then also tried to ""warn"" me that any place willing to do a tattoo on an ankle is a shady establishment. Whatever! I went to another studio (Liquid Ink) and had a wonderful experience. The artist there also warned me about the premature fading but then told me that he'd do my first touch up for free! Liquid Ink was clean, relaxed, and the staff was very nice. They also charged me 1/3 the price that Splash of Color wanted!!

I had a horrible first experience with my naval piercing and coming here has really opened my eyes. Splash of color is probably the cleanest facility I know of for tattoo's and piercings. It feels like you're at he doctors office. You have to sign to see the needle was knew, great after care instructions everything was great. I'm not just saying this either, I really recommend Splash to anyone.

Renee has done both my nostrils and she has a really good bedside manner and makes sure to inform you of the healing process. Guides you through each step. I really like how my piercings have healed and turned out. I got my left nostril in Oct 2016 and my right at the beginning of June 2018. Would definitely recommend her and this studio if you want any work done.
I also got a tattoo done by Johnny in August of 2016 and he did really awesome, drew it from scratch.

I went in for a re-piercing, which can be difficult. Kenny, and the woman behind the counter (sorry I forgot your name) were amazing. Took a lot of time to think through the best choices and everything came out great! I also got a visit in with an artist and am returning Wed for my first tattoo. Not 5 star because of the convenience fee on credit cards...a pain but not a major issue.

I have been coming to splash for the last 5 years. I do love this shop and have recommended it many times over the years. The staff and piercing/tattoo rooms are clean and well kept. I came in today and the experience was quite off. I patiently waited 45 minutes for the piercing artist because I dropped my Monroe piercing in the sink and needed to be sized for new jewelry. I had no problem waiting for good service. While waiting the receptionist took numerous phonecalls and acted very short and rude with each person that called. I was called back to the room and told that they had no jewelry in stock so they would refund my money. I wish they would have known they had no standard jewelry when i came in to avoid the wait. However they graciously refunded my money and I left the tip due to the piercer being very nice and thorough. Then the receptionist refunded me $80.00 instead of $40.00 so she had to charge my card $40.00 again. Luckily I have the money to cover the wait for the refund to come through but others may not have that luxury so this is a problem. I didn't want my piercing to close so I went to another shop for jewelry which was unsuccessful. Then I drove to my mother's house to get the original post I was given at splash but still needed help to put it in. I called splash to set up a time where i could come and get help to put the piercing in. The receptionist rudely explained that they may not be able to put the jewelry in because it depends on the threading etc. etc. Understanding I said "okay may I please make an appointment to come in" (hoping to avoid waiting again for nothing" She snapped back, "you can just come whenever" and hung up. I decided to not come back in because I was so irritated. I anticipate the shop losing additional business due to the rude attitude of this receptionist.

Always a great experience at Splash! Renee did my nostril back in October and I love it. Everyone is so friendly and it's EXTREMELY CLEAN AND TODAY!! In February we took my 5 year old in to see Renee and Tyler to have her ears pierced and even though my daughter changed her mind saying "I think I actually want to wait until I'm older" she received an amazing service! Tyler sat with her while she told him every joke she knows and I decided to change my jewelry out so they didn't lose the service. We will always go back to Splash!

Got my first two tattoos here when I was in college and didn't know how to look for a better place. Both immediately became blowouts and lost their shape, and one is almost entirely scar tissue. My artist both times told me that 'it was impossible to do a tattoo that small' about a half dollar sized piece. So glad I found better parlors to go to. If you're a college kid and think this is a good option, think again. I wish I would have.

I cannot say enough about how fantastic this shop is; so welcoming, extremely clean, very professional staff and artists, and I love that there are individual rooms to make your experience personal with you and your piercer and artist. I've been coming here for a while now and Perry Stratton is the only artist I've trusted since getting tattooed. I shoot him an email with ideas and he comes up with the most beautiful pieces that I don't even need to tweak before he begins his work! Will definitely be back for more!

Highly recommend getting a tattoo here, friendly staff and very clean! After going to a nearby tattoo shop, who messed up my reservation and was rude about it, I went here to see if I could schedule for a tattoo. The lady at the front desk was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. I showed her a picture of my tattoo, and lucky enough one of the artists was free and was able to do my tattoo right then. I had my tattoo done by Johnny Five, and this being my first one, I appreciated how he explained everything to me during and after getting the tattoo. Plus, the tattoo looked great!

I've been there for a piercing and jewelry changes multiple times with mixed success. DO NOT GO ON APPRENTICE PIERCER DAYS. I went on a Thursday to get some jewelry switched out, fairly standard, and I also needed to get a shorter bar for my tongue piercing. They didn't tell me that it was apprentice day and I didn't find out until I noticed a sign on my next visit. The apprentice didn't measure my tongue, just eyeballed it and ended up giving me a bar that was too short. Nobody more experienced checked his work. I had never gotten a properly fitted bar so I didn't know how it was supposed to feel, but after three days the pain got so bad that I wasn't able to eat and could barely talk, so I went back and someone did it right. They didn't refund me the cost of the jewelry, so even though they gave me half off the replacement I ended up paying way more than I intended to for jewelry I can't even use.

Clean, professional environment, awesome staff. I've been pierced twice here (helix and nostril) and I love coming here! I had Kevin the first time, and Andy the second. My helix ended up having some healing issues last year, and Renee was incredibly helpful getting it sorted out. My nose piercing this week was quick and easy, and Andy was very calm, friendly and reassuring. Don't be worried about the price - it's worth it!

Staff was friendly enough when me and my best friend went in to get our tattoos, I got gears around a symbol on my inner ankle and the artist mentioned it being a difficult area so we made the tattoo smaller and raised it above the callous line of my foot. Looked great until it healed completely and some lines needed a little more definition and one even needed to be completely filled. Since the guarantee their tattoos (not to mention touch ups are standard? This isn't my first tattoo) I went in to get it touched up and the artist is away until at least July (I got it done in November) and no one else will do it unless I pay the $50 minimum fee... the tattoo itself cost just barely over that and I'm asking for a few lines sooooo no thank you. I will not be back, I'm getting another tattoo this week and taking my business to Tattoo Shop because they're less expensive and do higher quality tattoos that last. And actually guarantee their work.

Had an issue with the navel jewelry I bought being too small and painful (they measure you before they sell you any jewelry). At first I called and the receptionist said they would not exchange it and I was very disappointed because I really liked it and it was kind of pricey. BUT I was later contacted by Renee and she told me when she would be in and that she would help me get one that fit properly. She was extremely kind and I now have something that fits right! Will definitely now be coming back for future jewelry purchases because they have the best selection in the Lansing area!

I was nervous when my special needs 7 yr old said she wanted her ears pierced. I am so glad we chose to work with Splash. They were beyond accommodating & professional! We were able to come in for a pre-tour, they allowed us to schedule 2 piercing experts at once. The piercers explained everything they were going to do & were very kind & patient. It really could not have been a better experience for us & her ears look amazing.

After looking at many, many places in lansing and east lansing, my fiancé and i decided on Splash of Color. They looked the most professional and clean to us which hooked us in. Staff was all around quite nice and friendly. We set up and appointment and they told us we were going to have johnny as our artist. I can't recommend him enough. He was funny and friendly, did a good job of explaining what he was doing, a good job of answering any questions i had, and of course he tattoed exactly what we wanted. My tattoo was simple, but my fiancé's was more complex and he drew it perfectly. He made sure we were comfortable the entire time and let us know if we wanted a break we were welcome to take a break. Overall a great experience with my fiancé and i highly recommend going to johnny for a tattoo.

I really enjoyed my experience at Splash of color; I got a my first tattoo today by Johnny Five. I went to places all over lansing when I was trying to decide where I should get my tattoo done; I chose Splash of color because they had the cleanest and most comfortable environment. I was very pleased with my artist as well, I was quite nervous before getting my tattoo but Johnny assured me that it would be okay. He also told me that I could take a break if I needed one. I really appreciated how Johnny made sure I was comfortable the entire time, we also talked a lot during the tattoo and that helped. I'm also in love with my tattoo!! Johnny Five is a great artist, he was a very funny and friendly person, I would definitely recommend going to Splash of Color and scheduling an appointment with him if you want an awesome tattoo!

I have been tatted here and I can say this is by far the nicest tattoo parlor I've ever been to. It's very clean and the artists are amazing. My brother would drive an hour and a half to get his tattoos here for years before his artist left. His girlfriend has gotten piercings here and they do a great job with those as well. Their prices are a little on the high end but you can get coupons in the local papers (State News, Black Sheep, etc.) sometimes and if you know someone who has gone here you can get a referral discount too. Also, you get what you pay for. If you want high quality artwork, this is definitely the place to go!

This place is great! Very polite and professional staff ,I got my first tattoo from here I had a consolation with Jon (Jedi) I had an idea of what I wanted and he helped me turn my idea into a master piece! He took his own time and drew up my design and put his special touch on it. I had to do two sessions for a total of 11 hours, each time Jon was very understanding when ever I needed breaks. The price was very fair. One thing to keep in mind is cheep work isn't good and good work isn't cheep. While getting tattooed and taking breaks I was able to see people getting pierced the staff from what I observed was steady and went in depth with there customers on proper care for piercings. They also sell great lotion for after care products for cheep. If your interested in going here I recommend it go to there website I found it very helpful when choosing an artist this place is all about the customers they even sent me a Christmas card I will defiantly be back for more ink.

My daughter had her septum and tragus pierced here (two different guys and I don't remember their names, both were super nice); my son his ear (by Renee and she is an absolute sweetheart!). Everyone we've worked with from the front desk to the "artists" were great. Excellent explanation of everything they needed to know. Extremely clean environment. They're pricey... but obviously they're not a mall kiosk piercer... so be prepared. The piercing not so much, but the jewelry is ($25 for a ball stud for my son seems high but who knows?). I'd recommend them.

Recently got a tattoo here with friends. Had an 8:30 appointment, was not helped until 9:45. Ridiculously overpriced and ridiculously rude employees. I understand that, being a tattoo and piercing business, they are more casual than most places. But that is not an excuse to treat customers like idiots. However, the tattoo came out fine. Which is the more important part of my visit.

I went in just to check out the prices/options for getting my nose pierced. The lady at the front desk did not smile once, and answered all my questions briefly and talked to me as if it were a chore....

I left without making an appointment, and was more hesitant than I had been before. Thee place looked lovely and clean, but the attitude was very off-putting. Unsure whether or not to go back.

When I flew back to Oregon where I live now, a REAL tattoo artist told me that it was "blowout". It results from the artist not properly adjusting the depth of their tool to accommodate for different thicknesses of skin. So now I have a tattoo the size of a grapefruit right on my chest that has a VERY blurry edge all along the top. One star, as this would have easily been prevented of the artist knew how to use his tool.

I went in for an ear piercing and while I agree that they are extremely overpriced, the thing that bothered me the most was how incredibly rude the ladies working the front desk were! They were extremely short with me and unhelpful. They acted as if it were such an inconvenience that I dare come in (and spend over $100!) for an ear piercing. When I requested to look at jewelry they were impatient with me for taking longer than 30 seconds to pick out an earring. Sorry it takes me longer than a minute to decide which piece of jewelry I want to be in my ear consistently for the next 6-12 months. It was just a very unwelcoming environment from the moment I walked in, so next time I go drop over 100 dollars on piercings it's going to be from a place that acts as if they actually want my business, instead of acting like I'm an inconvenience.

While Splash is definitely reputable sanitary wise and location wise...it's insanely over priced and has ugly jewelry for the insane price. $40 minimum for an ear lobe piercing (jewelry included) is insane. And I was convinced to get a size larger stud for my nose and was told it wouldn't hurt and I'd barely notice... it hurt so badly afterwards that I just took it out that day. $35 wasted. Go somewhere else!

I couldn't get some back in.. Fun times, I tell ya. Since I was getting queezy doing it myself I decided to stop by here, instead.While I was waiting for Renee, the Anatometal jewelry case caught my eye, because how could it not..the brand sells beautiful, quality body jewelry. I ended up buying a new stud for my tragus as well as a turquoise item (turquoise.. which totally made my day!). Since I purchased jewelry there was no actual charge for Renee's help with my minor problems, and with some struggle and gentle pursuasion I was good to go within 15 minutes. Everything total set me back about $100. I agree that the place could be considered more expensive than others.. but here's the thing.. I really just don't mess around with my health and safety. I gladly pay for a clean, sterile, professional environment when needles and blood borne pathogens are involved. I'm not saying less expensive places aren't safe, I'm just saying that I don't mind spending money here.. I feel comfortable, the people are friendly, the facility is nice and I appreciate their dedication to quality. If/when I end up with that inevitable itch of wanting something new.. I'll return again in a heartbeat!

I have had two tattoos and a piercing done at this shop. I had a great experience with both tattoos but those were done a couple of years ago so I will talk about the piercing. I had been thinking of getting a daith piercing for awhile. I called yesterday to inquire about some specifics. The woman I spoke to was nice and provided good information. She scheduled me an appointment for that evening with Andy.Andy was professional and gave me detailed information about the piercing process and the aftercare. I don't have any plans for more piercings but I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone for the service. Bottom line: clean, kind, knowledgeable, skilledHelpful tip: they take cash and credit but charge a 5% service fee for the credit cards.

The only reason I bought it here was because they are so close to home - they definitely use the fact that they're the inky tattoo/piercing place near MSU campus to their advantage and bump up their prices. The people are nice, the prices are terrible

Also, they don't even really talk to you about what you are going to get put on your body for the rest of your life. I thought they would work with me to find the best version of what I wanted but they are all about rushing you to get their next client. They don't care. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone looking to get a tattoo.

I would never come back to this shop. The prices are outrageous and they try to justify it by making customers believe their surgical grade steel is something special. It's not, it's the same grade jewelry and piercing supplies that ever other shop uses. When I took my roommate here for her 18th to get her lobes pierced a second time they wanted us to pay $30.00 for the piercings plus an additionally $30.00 for the cheapest jewelry they offer. I have 12 piercings myself from shops near my home town and NEVER have I ever seen such ridiculous prices. Some of their jewelry was priced as high as $53.00. This shop is a rip off and not worth the money.

I don't recommend splash of color for many reasons. I myself just turned 18 and I hate nothing more than being treated like I don't belong or don't fit it. They were flat out rude about all of the questions I asked as if I wasn't being serious. One of my friends tried joking with them to lighten and the mood and it was just rudeness again. So aside from the shady customer service, the prices are ridiculous.

I've seen reviews that called this place expensive. Hmmmmm, nope! This was my first tattoo, and probably my only. So I wasn't out for Walmart prices. I was also very nervous, but the cleanliness and friendliness was comforting. I got a full color tattoo that is about 6x4 inches and it cost $150. Thats not pricey in my book, not too much to pay for a piece of artwork that I'll wear for the rest of my life. My tattoo healed within days with no problems at all, which I attribute to the skill of the artist and the care they take to keep the place clean. Two thumbs up.

The staff is very helpful, professional, and knowledgeable from a phone call to greeting to follow-up. I spoke with Emily on the phone and she spent a good deal of time speaking with me BEFORE I even walked in the door. I had my nipples pierced by Renee and Andy (done tandem). Both Renee and Andy were excellent. They answered all my questions and made sure I was comfortable during the entire procedure. In fact they did such a good job I decided to go back for a VCH. Renee is definitely someone who wants to make sure you are happy with your experience and piercings. During the VCH she wanted to make sure she was placing it just right for me and consulted with Kevin, the lead piercer. He was very nice and made sure I was OK every step of the way. I would highly recommend all three piercers to anyone! I see a lot of people complain about the price, but in my opinion you pay for quality and Splash of Color is definitely worth it!

I've had not only one horrible experience, but TWO. the first time i went in to look for some new plugs for my ears. i walked in the door and not a single employee looked at me, greeted me, acknowledged my existence, nothing. So i walk over to the case with all of the various jewelery in there and i literally stand for about 10 mins while i watch the employees run around like i wasnt even there. you'd think someone would ask if i needed any help with anything or if i needed to see something, or even that they'd be with me in a second because they were helping another customer, but no one said anything the entire time i was there. HORRIBLE customer service. The second time i went in, i was going to go purchase a can of H2Ocean. i went in with a few of my friends and as they looked at the various pictures of tattoos i went over to the counter to ask for what i needed. the girl behind the desk didnt even look up and when she finally did she kind of rolled her eyes and asked me what i needed help with. i bluntly told her i came for h2Ocean and the can was $13...i've gotten it for cheaper elsewhere. she pretty much bagged it up, tossed it on the counter and said nothing else. this place is horrible and i would never set foot in there again.

They were the nicest people ever to me! Brian walked right up to me and helped me pick out an artist. After i choose brian because he does amazing tribal, he sketched it out right there is 10 minutes tops. As i waited the girls that work in there talked to me and were super nice. Brian gave me my price and helped me pick a date that was right for ME! This is an amazing tattoo shop. They are super clean and do an amazing job. I would recommend going to them.

I recently got my nose pierced at Splash of Color and every person I came in contact with was helpful, friendly and professional. The piercer (Andy) was awesome and did a fantastic job! The whole process was virtually painless and they make sure that they tell you exactly what's going on every minute you're there. I would definitely recommend them to anyone and will be getting my next tattoo there for sure!

I hate to speak so poorly of a business because I am sure that not all of their artists are like that, but that was just our experience. I will not return, nor will many of our friends.

I went to Splash of Color Tattoo in East Lansing to consult with an artist about getting my first tattoo. I wanted to get the tattoo on my ankle but the artist told me that they don't do them there because the artwork will fade faster. Ok, thanks for the warning, that's a good thing to know. I said I was still willing to pay to get it done on my ankle.... the artist refused again because he said that it's the artist's artwork and he just won't do it. Hello!! I drew the design and I'm a customer willing to pay for a tattoo! He was quite rude and then also tried to ""warn"" me that any place willing to do a tattoo on an ankle is a shady establishment. Whatever! I went to another studio (Liquid Ink) and had a wonderful experience. The artist there also warned me about the premature fading but then told me that he'd do my first touch up for free! Liquid Ink was clean, relaxed, and the staff was very nice. They also charged me 1/3 the price that Splash of Color wanted!!

I had a horrible first experience with my naval piercing and coming here has really opened my eyes. Splash of color is probably the cleanest facility I know of for tattoo's and piercings. It feels like you're at he doctors office. You have to sign to see the needle was knew, great after care instructions everything was great. I'm not just saying this either, I really recommend Splash to anyone.
