I've been going to Ink and Needle East for a little over a year now. Solomon has done a PHENOMENAL job working with me creating a custom sleeve and has started one on my wife that will compliment it. I've had other ideas that he encouraged that I do other things and have been pleased with his advice and very happy with the end result. His aftercare techniques are solid, never have an issue with irritated skin or infection; the healing process overall is GREATLY shortened. Solomon has also been working on a large portrait back piece for my wife which we are both very pleased with, his color saturation, shading, and line work are all outstanding. He's a great guy, always has something to talk about and will keep you entertained and your mind off the work he's doing. I have also been pierced 5 times, 3 from Roxy and 2 from Dan. All were quick, clean, and professional with aftercare covered to the smallest detail and an open offer to come back if anything should not go to plan. There are plenty of other tattoo shops in the Lansing area, please do not waste your time or money here. I usually get my work done elsewhere, but I figured I'd give these guys a shot based on reviews / word of mouth. Sorely disappointed. Extremely un-professional, Unclean and disorganized. The guy doing the work was unbelievably smug and rude, and the receptionist was on the same level. Both of them kept looking at their phones, no eye contact, bare minimum conversation, like everything was an inconvenience to them. When I got the quote for the tattoo, the artist told me $100-150, only to charge me $180! for 45 minutes worth of work, simple black and white lettering! Now that my tattoos have healed, they are sketchy and disappointing. I'm no rookie, This was tattoo number 17, so I know what quality work is. Total waste, highly NOT recommended. Read Less

My friend and I scheduled to get an appointment for Wednesday. We then received a call on Wednesday asking if we could come in 30 minutes earlier, which we did. When arriving the tattoo artists said "oh its two of you?" We had put down a deposit for 2 people. Then when the tattoo artists asked what we were getting and we explained he proceeded to tell us "you know i don't have that much time" Considering we came in 30 minutes before our appointment, he should have had plenty of time. When we had questions concerning the tattoo and his responses were very vague and almost didn't answer any of our questions. He was also not very friendly. I would not recommend this shop to anyone. My fiancé and I been going to see Roxy for a couple years for piercing and jewelry needs. She has stretched my ears numerous times, and also pierced my girls nipples. Not only is she my favorite. I went to Ink and Needle for the first time based on the awesome reviews. I went in to get a nipple piercing and everyone there was really cool and it was a super clean space. Roxy did the piercing and she was really good at explaining the process and the cleaning of the piercing and I felt really comfortable about it. I originally got my Spartan Helmet tattoo done at Splash of Color. After seven days, the green in my tattoo had mottled and was streaky and uneven. I went back in for a touch up a few months later, and not only did the color get more uneven, but there was a lot of ink blow out past the outline. Frustrated, I went to Ink and Needle and Soloman was able to fix it up and make it look clean and crisp, like the mess up had never happened. Read Less

I got my nipples pierced here and I was so nervous! I had Roxy do them and there was very minimal pain. I will never go anywhere else for a piercing because Roxy makes it painless - great place, I recommend all the time! Read Less

The place is so clean, everyone is so friendly, and very talented. They truly try to take your ideas and work with them and with you to make something you love. Ink and Needle in East Lansing has never let me down, but Roxy's exceptional demeanor and kindness to clients is really what made me write this review. She always keeps it real and has been the most painless piercer I've been to. I will probably never want anyone else to do any of my piercings after seeing how great of a piercer she is, and how well maintained and clean and professional this East Lansing location is. I got a spur of the moment tattoo here a couple weeks ago and Solomon did a great job helping me through getting my sternum tattooed, and made a wonderful design for what I wanted. Gonna pop in for a quick touch up before I move and hope to have a whole sternum piece done by him.
