A couple of months ago I did have a good experience getting peircings done by Tony however, he's the only profecinal there. The owner is extramly friendly but The shop seams like a hangout spot for guys with tattoo guns who know how to do simple tattoos. On one occasion I walked in and saw a few guys playing pool who paid no attention to me. After looking around the shop, and they finished their game one "Artist" asked if I needed help. I said I wanted some work done and asked to see portfolios of artists. After looking at me confused he said he had photos of work he's done on his phone. He pulled up a gallery and after looking at 30+ butterfly tattoos and screenshots clearly from Google images I decided I wouldn't have work done by him. Their selection of jewelry is not too bad but I had to show one of the employies how to use a gauge measuring tool because she was using it wrong. In the past 2 weeks I've been trying to go to the shop to get new plugs but they are never open during regular business. When I stopped by today at 4:30 they were not open so I asked a guy who was outside the shop about it and he said "They are only in for a couple hours a day and then randomly leave. I'm pretty sure they just hang out here and shoot up in the back" thoes are his words not mine. I really hope they get themselves together because it'd be nice to have a shop in walking distance that I could rely on.

This place will forever be apart of one of my favorite memories. I took two of my best friends to Detroit Ink because it was the only place I knew where someone could get piercings and stuff like that...
This place will forever be apart of one of my favorite memories. I took two of my best friends to Detroit Ink because it was the only place I knew where someone could get piercings and stuff like that, since I see the shop every time I go to work. We got there and was immediately greeted by who I can assume was the owner. He was very friendly and he put a smile on our nervous faces. We did have to wait 45 minutes so the needle can be sterilized, but we didn't mind and stayed and took a look around the shop. It was so vibrant and full of color. It was very welcoming. Since we had to wait the owner was nice enough and gave my friends and I a free shirt. HOW AWESOME WAS THAT!?! The time finally came for my friend to get her belly button pierced. During the procedure Jordan (the guy who was doing the piercing) kept trying to ease my friend's fear of the pain. He was really nice and comforting. While walking back home me and my other friend decided to get something done too, so we sent back. I got my nose pierced by Jordan and received the same treatment as my friend before me. My other friend got her first tattoo and it was done by Tony. Tony was awesome too! While waiting for my other friend to finish getting her tattoo. Jordan showed me his art work around the shop and it was so cool. Detroit Ink brought three best friends even closer by giving us our first tattoo/piercing and by making it such a cool experience. My friend really loves her Harry Potter tattoo and me and my other friend love our piercings. I will be going back to Detroit Ink to get my first tattoo. ALL IN ALL THIS IS A GREAT PLACE TO COME FOR BUSINESS! P.s I'm pretty sure the guy who did our piercing name is Jordan lol I can be hard of hearing sometimes.

Tony if my guy for as long as I live in the city he will be tatting me, I got my first real s tat from him and I still can't get over not only the drawing it self but especially the little free hand and color detail he put in it is amazing. Now you can literally go to any artist in there and walk out with a dope tat not to mention the atmosphere in the place is awesome but if you don't even know what you want and just send him [Tony] and he'll have you leaving with a dope free hand.

Do Not Judge A Book By Its Cover. This shop surprised me in how professional it was, and the environment that was presented. As a an art student, they have a very affordable art supply store with everything I usually need. Recently I got a tattoo here that Crybaby worked on. I can honestly say that the environment and overall experience of getting the tattoo was very enjoyable. Along with that the tattoo was amazing. Overall everyone in the shop is just so welcoming and enthusiastic about what they do.I would highly recommend this shop to anyone who wants a tat.

A couple of months ago I did have a good experience getting peircings done by Tony however, he's the only profecinal there.
