First two times I went there the service was wonderful. Great staff and I was very satisfied with the work done. The third time I went the staff was incredibly rude and spoke down to me, so I left. Whomever answers emails for the company had no desire to resolve my issue nor apologize for the poor customer relations, but also instead choose to talk down to me by simply telling me to "turn the ball to the left" to remove my piercing. I came here to get a tattoo on my leg of some roses and vines and leaves. It was a pretty big piece and this artist Ryan drew it out. He was pretty quite until he actually started tattooing me, and I know some people have doubts about tattoo artists who don’t have tattoos themselves but let me tell you, Ryan Waterhouse was THE BEST tattoo artist I’ve ever seen. I was very nervous and on the fence about a nose piercing. I called to see if I could basically walk-in and I was greeted with a kind man on the phone.......which made me feel like yup, I can do this. I walked in, the staff was very kind, encouraging and warm. John marked my nose, a few times to be precise. Talked me through the process which took my mind off the PINCH. I LOVE IT!!! My best friend went to get her nose pierced A while back and it was awesome. Today I just got my nips done and was scared but from going with my friend to get her nose done I knew I would be comfortable, it was fast, clean, easy and pretty painful but worth it. Awesomeness. I got my belly button pierced here 2 weeks ago. I called on the phone first to ask about price and I'm telling you, you're gonna love the prices here. I walked in and it smelled a little sterile, like a hospital but my hubby said that's a good thing because that means it's clean. Staff was friendly and made me feel absolutely comfee. I've been to several tattoo shops in the past and always felt ignored or dismissed by staff. When I walked in here I decided that if this didn't go well, I just wasn't destined to get this tattoo. It went amazing. Brenda greeted me as soon as I came in, asked me about what I was looking for and connected me to Rick, who set my mind at ease. I left that day with an appointment and the feeling that this was really going to happen. I came back yesterday to get my first tattoo and Rick was still working with his last appointment. Rather than make me wait he told me about the talented O, who knocked it out of the park. This looks better than I could have imagined. I got my fourth tattoo here at Elite Ink and Rick was my artist. My girlfriend was also with me and she got one too (her ninth). The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The facility is very nice, especially the lounge area which is separate from the front lobby. They have a TV, a pool table, a foosball table (my favorite), and bubble hockey with nice leather chairs for you to chill on while you observe the artwork on the walls and the overall cool things to look at.Rick expressed the most sincere interest in ensuring that the ideas we had for our pieces were well-thought out and well-executed. He's a real down-to-earth guy who has a penchant for laughs. In other words, a very desirable person to shoot the shit with for a few hours.My girl went first and Rick did a fantastic job from start to finish to be communicative and share his knowledge and advice. What started as an idea was turned into a very fantastic piece, with Rick being attentive all along the way to ensure that she agrees with the ongoing direction of the piece. Rick makes a point to show you HOW and WHY he is a professional, but not in the way of a braggart. This is a man who takes pride in his craft and is happy to share it with you simply because he loves applying tattoos day in and day out.My turn arrived to get a piece on my left calf and Rick instructed me to not dive onto the chair so as not to faceplant (sage advice). I pretended I was tough as the sweet needles penetrated my skin and delivered the beautiful and soul-cleansing experience that is putting permanent artwork on your body that will stay with you forever.Rick was also very thorough about aftercare directions and was open to questions afterward (as well as throughout the process). I came in to get a medusa (philtrum) piercing in April. after having done some research I inquired about having a longer bar put in to compensate for swelling, and my piercer assured me that he had never had an issue with a short bar, at the same time listing his "awards" and accomplishments (such as being the fastest piercer in the county). I agreed. Pierced it, but couldn't get the jewelry all the way through. Immediately pierced again, still no such luck. After a 30 second break, he tries a third time. Nope. I started to get lightheaded and black out, I was given a bite sized snickers and sat down for a few moments, before deciding I was crazy enough to try again. The fourth time, he used the longer bar. However, the piercing is not even centered, and the bar goes through diagonally. It isn't noticeable unless you're staring straight on, and I've decided to keep it for now. So I went here awhile back to inquire about getting a tattoo covered up. I already had a design in mind but they told me it wouldn't work exactly the way I wanted it so we had to redesign it a bit.  We then preceded to talk about who would do the design and they recommended to me someone who was supposedly the best you can go with and that he had done some kind of work that has to do with George Lucas. So I paid them the deposit of 25 dollars and they said they would call in about a week or so.Well about 3 weeks to a month later... still no call back from these people. I finally had to call them and they said oh yeah the design was ready awhile back. So why wasn't I notified? When we did finally go there, rather than a really nice, totally awesome tattoo sketch that I was hoping for AND paid for a deposit was not the case at all. All this lazy ass guy had done was taken a few online images and copied and pasted them on one another. Wow. So a really awesome tattoo artist who supposedly did stuff for George Lucas and who was going to charge me upwards of at least 800 dollars for a tattoo and this is the best he/they can come up with? I really paid them 25 dollars for something I could have done myself at home for free. Needless to say I will never return to this place for a tattoo or anything of the sorts. On top of that, this place is VERY unprofessional. Don't go to this place. Flat out, because the entire time your in there waiting to talk to someone, even if you have an appointment, there is only about 1 other person in this place not willing to help you at all with anything. So don't expect any kind of prompt, friendly, professional service.UPDATE: 7/17/2015 I was recently contacted by someone here and told that I should come get my deposit back so I could remove my review. Went here to get my ears pierced for gauges...I called and the gentleman on the phone explained to me their prices...It was 30 min before close, but we decided to go in. We met John and he was seriously super nice. He talked to me and explained to me the best size to start with to gauge my ears and show me jewelry. He took us to the back and showed us the different rooms.Everything in there was clean and super sanitized! The whole place was cozy. He talked me through the whole process while he did my ears. Made me feel very comfortable!! I was super nervous, but he just talked me through everything. When he was done he talked to us a little bit past closing and I felt so bad! I called the same morning and talked to the owner who was really helpful with directions and setting up a time. I got there and all the workers made me feel comfortable because they could tell I was nervous. My artist,rick,  helped me with the design of my tattoo because I came in there with basically nothing planned and ended up loving it and the time spent actually getting the tattoo. I don't recommend going here for a tattoo removal. I had a Groupon, and didn't have a good experience. The tattoo removal process takes place in their back storage room which didn't feel very clean or sterile. They didn't offer pre-treatment numbing cream or anything. The staff was nice, and if I were getting a tattoo, I'd feel comfortable going there, but for removal I did not. Obviously the removal process is painful anywhere, but if you are looking to get your tattoo removed go to the Skin and Vein Center in Sterling Heights, who has the most updated laser. I started going there and my tattoo has begun to fade much faster and I am so much more comfortable in the environment (it's sterile, there are doctors, they track your progress and offer lots of information) and the price is completely comparable. They also give you numbing cream to use pre-treatment. It helps (but obviously it's still a painful procedure). Read Less
