The tattoo I got is a butterfly and omg the color is amazing it's bright detail is Phenomenal the tattooist cooler then heck to talk to I was told many bad stories about this place but those stories are all lies the truth is about this place very clean and I can't stress that enough so clean in fact that I watched him change his gloves and wash his hands like 3 times everytime he did a new thing which is so many times I lost count they make sure you witness them put the needle they just used on you in the locked box for that stuff they definitely take clean to a whole new level I will definitely be going ba k there for my tattoos Ps. I went in for a shoulder tattoo, a 3 hour piece. Beau was very professional, friendly, and did a great job,with only one 5 minute break. I paid for a purched butterfly tattoo back in 2007 and the artist did a horrible job. I told him it wasn't good and he said he liked it but who cares if he liked it. I wanted a purched butterfly not a flat weird looking one that he tattooed instead. If he would have drawn it right it would have looked great but instead he messed it up and wasted my money to get it. Read Less

I went in yesterday for a tattoo on my side, I've heard so many things about how rough ribs are, so I was super nervous. Beau was awesome! He was super professional and understanding when it was hurting. I was able to take breaks and be a little whiny to get through it. He was running the shop by himself, but still made me the focus while still taking care of the other customers. It took almost 3 hours and he was so patient with all of the detail and took the time needed to do it right. Aside from the great service, I love the artwork and I am so happy with how it turned out! Every time I've been to old anchor for tattoos or piercings they have been knowledgeable and professional. I am always impressed by the service there. I made an appointment with Adam almost a month ago for a pretty big thigh piece. It was about a 5 hour process, Adam was very professional, never complained when I needed a couple breaks and made sure I was doing OK through the process. I always go here for my tattoos, and now will never go anywhere else for my piercings. I had originally gone there for a nose ring, lost the jewelry, and had it close up on me. A few weeks back I figured I'd make a quick trip to BC tattoo and piercings and get one back in. Nope. Never again. The lady argued with me about what I wanted, and ended up putting a HUGE hoop in my nose, with the hole too high up for anything smaller. Took it out immediately. I'm not very happy with what happened yesterday at the Battle Creek location. I went in to have my Daith re pierced after thinking it had closed up. After looking at my ear, Beau informed me I had never had my Daith pierced and in fact had my Rook done. He said he found an exit hole and we could get it redone. Figuring he had experience and knowledge of piercings, I thought I was wrong. Well I was not. He "re pierced" a hole that was never there and after he got the jewelry ...he said "oh, I found another exit hole, I guess you did have your Daith pierced, do you want me to put jewelry in that?". Of course I wanted him to do what I came in and asked for. The jewelry slide right in. I didn't even need to get it re pierced!!! He then told me that I must have had a freckle that looked like an exit hole and now I was a cool mom with two piercings. He was more concerned with getting me in and out, because my children were waiting in the car with their dad, that he didn't take the time to do what I asked. I did not want this piercing and I was so upset and just wanted to leave that I didn't really say much of anything. I got in touch with the woman who originally pierced my Daith and she told me I could take it out right away if I was that unhappy with it. So that's what I did. You wouldn't guess that Old Anchor is a super clean and professionally run shop from its unassuming little building set back from the road.Don't let the exterior fool you.When you step inside, you will find really professional staff that explain everything to you.  They make sure you understand what is going on, and show you the sterilization process.They don't have a huge assortment of jewelry, but they do have catalogs with tons of it, and will order it for you at no extra charge.I haven't experienced the tattoos, but the piercings are top notch.
