Patrick did my work. I gave him my idea. His vision of my concept was spot on. His technique is not painless, but it was kind. He backed off when he knew I was twitching. First tattoo in Michigan and a friend recommended Lucky Monkey. I got set up with Steve Flores, so is a very cool laid back dude. He did I killer job in less time than quoted so I paid,tipped fat, and booked my other calf with him for 5 days later and my wife booked him for a thigh piece. Professional, Clean, Friendly, Fun. Carrie was super helpful when planning and completing my tattoo. She was happy to explain each step, kept me entertained, and made sure I was comfortable throughout. She was incredibly nice and clearly loves what she does. The other employees were nice and encouraging as well. I left the shop with a tattoo that healed quickly and looks great, as well as recommendations on where to enjoy dinner and drinks nearby. I love this place but most of all I love Carrie! She is a wonderful artist and an amazing person! Poor work circa 2012. Inexperienced artists. Screwed up the same tattoo not once but 3 times on 3 different people. Staff was rude and difficult after we paid and expressed our concern. Artist's portfolio looked nothing like what you see on my arm. I dont know how this is possible coming from here. One star rating because they never made it right with us, just robbed us. Read Less

I have been a customer since this store opened and have spent more than 200 hours in the chair. The owner and artists here are both very accommodating and professional. My kids are now old enough to get tattoos and I would not hesitate to recommend Lucky Monkey as the place for their tattoos. Lucky Monkey has also tattooed my family members from England and my current employees. Still not heard a single bad thing about this shop. Honestly the best ink shop in Michigan. The staff is super friendly and warm, and the talent of the artists is at an unbelievably high level. I have 6 pieces from Lucky Monkey from 3 of the artists. On the Artists: -Patrick has the lightest hand, not a lot of pain, and has the most wild and coolest designs, he is all about trash polka and darker styles. -Tony is the master of color saturation, both of my pieces from him are approaching a year and they still look like I got t...hem yesterday. If you want traditional with flare he is the one for you. -Carrie just has mind blowing work. Gave her one calf for a wolf huntress and immediately had to give her the other for the Berserker.
