After searching the web and looking at the different shops in and around Worcester I settled on Rob and his shop Hourglass Ink and he did NOT disappoint. He is an amazing talent and works to make sure that you have an excellent piece that you can be proud to wear. I recommend this shop to anyone, will refer people to his shop, and will be returning for more work in the future. On top of being an amazing artist, Rob exhibited customer service that is over and above any service I have received from any service industry. From my first phone call, through the specifications, as well as the follow up after my tattoo was complete, he went above and beyond. Stopped by yesterday after reading several reviews and looking at several different tattoo shops in the Worcester area and ultimately deciding on Rob and Paco. I knew that I was in good hands with either, as their work is beautiful. After leaving, I knew that I needed to leave a review. I just can't say enough about this shop. These two are playful and fun, but very professional. The shop is clean and inviting, and I would definitely recommend them to my friends and family. After looking into many shops I went with Hourglass tattoo. Not only were they by far one of the cleanest places I had consulted with but Paco was very kind in answering every question I had never once was he rude or pushy. It was my 1st tattoo and when I get another this is where I will be going. Very cool place. Finally got a Mad Hatter's hat - my timing was awesome - an early Tuesday - I've gotten quite a bit of ink from a few places throughout my life, and I have to say that as a first-time customer, I was quite impressed. There was none of that "wait for us, we're rockstars and you are our bowing patron" attitude, which I've gotten even as a loyal customer at other studios. Instead, Kevin talked to me about what I was looking for, drew something cool on my forearm, walked me through adjustments I wanted to make, and then proceeded to give me a tattoo that I'm incredibly happy with. I had finally mustered up the courage to get my first tattoo and I came to Hourglass specifically for owner Rob. He has done work on my husband and several of my close friends, and after being thoroughly impressed with their tattoos and his portfolio online, I decided he was the artist for me. Hourglass Ink is a clean and sterile shop with a friendly and courteous staff. Stopped in one day to make my appointment with Rob and put down my deposit. Sadly, there was a huge snowstorm on the day of my appointment, and the shop had closed. However, Rob himself called to inform me of the closing and offered rescheduled my appointment whenever I chose. The day of my rescheduled appointment came and Rob walked me through the process. I told him my idea and he was great at bringing my vision to life. I wanted some script on my foot. Rob worked with me to get the perfect placement and found a font I loved. He knew it was my first tattoo and was so helpful. He explained everything he was doing as he was doing it and opened brand new tools in front of me so I knew he was using sterile equipment. He chatted with my husband and I throughout the tattoo process. After the tattoo was finished, Rob took his time to thoroughly explain my tattoo aftercare. I was very impressed by the entire shop. I have 2 other tattoos by a shop down the road but went with Hourglass, Amber specifically, for a very meaningful tattoo. My son and I both got the same family crest tattoo and they came out better than we could have hoped. Very clean shop, well run, from the moment you talk to Mariah to consulting with the artist. Let me start by saying that I'm not a big review writing type of guy, wrote two in ten years both negative about poor products. That being said I couldn't be happier with the work Amber is doing for me, she took my idea with a few references that I wanted incoporated into the tattoo and she created a piece for me around my existing tattoo's that is so much better than I could have ever imagined. The tattoo isn't even complete yet and I have received many compliments for the tattoo and the great color that's is in it. I had a great experience. I searched via the web / Facebook looking for a local artist that was into realism. Found him, met him, booked him (with a deposit.) and had a great experience all around. Rob was very diligent in showing me all around the shop/ what tools he uses etc. The shop is very clean and comfortable. My tattoo is a memorial to my father and Rob did a great job interpreting exactly what I wanted. I love my tattoo. I have been stopped in public to be asked where I got it done. Rob is an superb artist!! Very laid back environment, felt very comfy and at home. In love with my tattoo and plan on sticking with Rob as my go to guy!! Hourglass Ink made a great first impression, which continued throughout my whole experience. The shop was easy to find in Worcester, had parking, and was clean and classy. I was extremely nervous upon arrival as I needed a coverup of a large dark tattoo and I have a low tolerance for pain. The shop owner and artist Rob Levis put me at ease to make the experience as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. I was impressed with his ability to cover up my previous tattoo, while also giving me a beautiful piece of art that does not look like a cover up. While discussing the coverup, Rob provided me with his portfolio to give me an idea of his expertise and worked with me to create the best tattoo for me. He did not give me a hard time when I complained about the pain and needed a break-he was very understanding and worked with me to ease the pain as much as he possibly could. I am already planning my next tattoo! Rob is an incredible artist and his portfolio exhibited his ability to create an amazing tattoo in all different styles.
