I'm sry I never got the guys name. I got my nose pierced 7/28/17. The guy that pierced my nose was very sweet, talked me through each step. Explained in full detail for the after care, when I could change out the nose ring and how long before it would be fully healed. Very clean establishment and friendly professional people. Just had my lip pierced, he did a great job. Very informative on how to take care of the piercing once done. Went step by step to let me know his next move. Answered all my questions that I had. Went in today to book and get a quote. The girl at the desk acted annoyed even though she wasn't doing anything when I came in and I had a picture and a Web link to what I wanted ready. Hated this place. I would honestly never reccomend it or go back was very disappointed with how the artist was in general, sorry but act professional when someone is paying you money for your services! Especially when the tattoo I'm getting has to do with someone passing away I don't want some bull shit that you drew up in five minutes, after I've made a deposit weeks in advance.... Waited in the waiting room a half hour, I mean it's just courteous to be polite and act as if you give a shit that the tattoo has meaning to me even if it didn't to you. I will never go back here and I will never reccomend anyone to go here. Also they were 100% over priced for a small doodle of a tattoo paying close to $200? It was a rip off. If I could go back I would've told the jerk keep the deposit and I'll go else where that's how much I was discouraged from this place. I do have to say when making the appointment I forget the other mans name he was welcoming, friendly, helpful and attentive. Emailed me back and forth pictures, I thought the actual artist would be like him but that wasn't the case.This place only stays in business because of how often they rip off clients. Went in to schedule an appointment to get matching wrist tattoos with my sister. The guy at the front desk was super nice and we explained exactly what we wanted to him (my grandmothers handwriting and her favorite flower.) So two weeks later we show up to our appointment. Our artist, Jordan, who we never actually spoke with came out with a picture of her handwriting and a picture of the flower. He said "ok what am I doing with this?" He didn't even have anything drawn out yet. He goes in the back and comes out five minutes later with a mediocre drawing. We also clearly said we wanted the writing facing us so we could see it, but he refused to do it that way. Also the flower looked absolutely nothing like the photo I gave him. The tattoo was overpriced at $120 and when you make an appointment you have to put a non-refundable deposit of $50 down no matter what. I've heard so many great things about Darkstar but this will my last time here. Read Less

Mixed review.  The shop has a great atmosphere and is very clean which is important to me. The prices are reasonable. My friend and I both went in for tattoos. I like mine but it's a small, simple black design with nothing intricate...but the blossom on the small flower looks like a black blob. That does not make me happy. My friend's tattoo was bigger, more intricate and colored. His line work was good, and while the shading in the flowers was well done, it was totally the wrong color. She asked for purple and got red...really red. The vine work was different color greens but not blended and shaded well at all...just color blocks. She is very sad about hers. Lesson here...double check that everyone is clear about the color before indelibly marking your body. Read Less

This place is great and Cory is 150% amazing! Awesome guy and an awesome artist! The downfall, the idiots who work the front desk.  The first time I went in to make an appointment everyone was super friendly and very helpful. I talked to them about what I wanted, got some new ideas, made my appointment, and left.  About a week before my appointment I emailed Dark Star a picture of what I wanted so that Cory could draw up something and be ready when I went to get it, like I was told I could do.  The day of my appointment came, I got there 15 minutes early, filled out the paperwork, and waited to see what Cory came up with.  He came out and showed me his drawing, it was great...but not at all what I wanted. The style was totally different than the picture I had sent and it was clear that he never saw my email.  I told him about the email, he asked the kid at the desk if he had gotten it and the kid said, "I don't know, I don't really check the emails." Ummm..WHAT?! Why does this company have an email address if no one is checking it? And WHY was I encouraged to send a picture via email if it was never going to be seen?! The front desk kid checked the email, found mine, and printed the picture for him. Cory told me it would be about 15 more minutes, he was going to draw up something that was more like the picture I had sent.  While he was in the back I heard the morons at the front desk whispering to each other about how I should have called after sending the email to let them know I sent one and how it wasn't their fault that Cory was clearly annoyed. UM WHAT? It's the year 2012...I am not calling to let anyone know I sent an email. I email people all day at work, and no, I do not call each individual to "let them know" I sent them an email. If your company has a GD email address..THEN CHECK IT. THAT IS YOUR JOB.  I have worked front desk jobs before and I have learned ALWAYS CHECK THE EMAIL. Every.Single.Day. Multiple times a day!  Okay, enough of that...Cory came back out had a drawing that was totally perfect.  It looked like the picture I sent and I could tell he definitely had some of his own style in there too. Great! He let me know the spot I wanted it in was not going to work out great so I started to get really nervous because I did not want it anywhere else. He worked with me and was very patient and we figured out perfect placement! I would give Dark Star 5 stars if it weren't for the front-desk-idiots. But, hey, they're nice people regardless.
