I have been getting tattooed by Anna for several years now. She is very professional with her approach to tattooing, she's prompt and extremely accommodating. You get the sense when you enter the shop that they "get it". The receptionist, Kerry, greets you with a smile and gets you checked in and all ready to go. Both Anna and Ben are amazing artists who are very conscientious and pay attention to the details. The tattoo books of their work are available up front and if you take a look you'll see the amazing work they're capable of. They include you in the process from the initial concept to the finish of your new amazing art piece. The hygiene is exceptional, the rooms are very clean and their tools are always very sanitary. They keep you in the loop while they're working and the aftercare instruction they provide is top notch. Essentially, a tattoo is only as good as the artist who performs it. I am pretty heavily tattooed and this is the only shop I will go to now. Ben is fantastic, he's very open to ideas and he's also very honest about longevity, placement, and style. The shop is very comfortable and clean and everyone is very friendly. When I booked my consult I decided to switch to having Ben tattoo me which was very easy via the shops email. Review is based purely on my phone call alone. The woman who answered the phone, Kerry, was abrupt and frankly just rude. I have a very good friend who goes to this tattoo parlor and had raved about both Ben and Anna's work. I called to see what their process was (consult and actual tattooing session) and when openings are available...  The girl basically couldn't be bothered. Here I am, as a Mansfield resident, looking to get a piece done locally and she basically just blew it for this shop. I guess I'll go back to my parlor in Lynn even though it's an 90 minutes away. I'm surprised this is their first review...this is not the kind of tattoo shop that you show up at with some Internet printout and they slap it on. Anna and Ben are artists and I have respect for them both.My mom recently got her first tattoo this year with Anna and she was awesome.  She just exudes this calm aura. She chatted with us the entire time and made my mom feel at ease. I'm now in the process of deciding whether to cover up an existing tattoo mistake from many years ago or get it removed. Anna took the time to meet with me and discuss my options. She encouraged me to take my time with my decision. I never felt pressured during the consultation.They book up very quickly here - I would be shocked if they had time for walk ins. I've been working with Anna, the owner of Art & Soul, for over three years now. She has done my half sleeve and a big leg piece of mine- one black and white/ one color. She is AMAZING and should not be underestimated as a business owner or an artist. Mike and Ben are great guys and make you feel welcome in the shop.
