I've gone to Danny for most of my tattoos (7/9) and every time I go into another shop i'm like "this could have been better if i'd gone to lowell ink". My sister and I decided to get sibling tattoos, and in search for an ink shop we found Lowell Ink. Upon entering the shop we met Danny, Eric, and Ken. All 3 of them were welcoming and friendly. Our tattoo artist was Danny, and he did a pretty sweet job on both our tattoos. This is my first tattoo and with that being said, Danny made sure that I was comfortable throughout the entire session. From start to finish he worked with us both to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. My girlfriend was also there but was not planning on getting a tattoo done. While she was waiting for both of us to finish our tattoos, she was sharing ideas with Eric about what she wanted to get later down the line. After she found what she was looking for, Eric was able to tattoo her right there and then. He even touched up a tattoo that she already had, which didn't heal properly from different tattoo shop. All in all, this is a great tattoo shop. I would definitely recommend this place to others, and we will be back. Read Less

I gave a $50 tip and I $50 deposit for a tattoo. I called ahead of time and told them the style that I wanted. I even emailed it to them and stated I wanted something similar. But instead of looking at the tattoo that I sent & putting me with a comparable tattoo artist they gave me whoever was available. I gave them ample time to draw something up before the tattoo but he was given a cardboard with my phone number on it. Not the emailed photo. I like REDACTED, he's a good guy with great art work but his style is not mine. I settled for a tattoo that I like but I paid too much for. I've done this before out of guilt. I won't be doing it again. No one wants to walk into a tattoo shop and have to have their idea be completely different than what was asked, be told the position of it is weird and that its gonna look weird. I had a portrait done by Steve Ropp about a month or so ago and I had the best experience ever.  He was very kind to me and gave me exactly what I wanted while also making it work with the location, etc.  he was extremely knowledgeable and thorough.  I would never go anywhere else.  My boyfriend also has a chest tattoo done by Steve that looks awesome, it's been about a year I believe and the colors in it still look bright and brand new :) Steve is the best and he has a client for life! He was uninterested, offered no info,  and it was like pulling teeth to get a yes or no, most bizarre experience of my life andI hv a few tats already? Said he couldnt do shit for me cuz he had appt, a simple can u come back in an hour or another day wd be more of a human like reply??? Took my girlfriend here to get her first tattoo for her birthday and these people are incredible. Her artist was Danny and he did an amazing job for her. He was friendly and we got along perfectly. Oh, and the price was right! She got a little space ship for $60! Read Less

Have to admit I was worried about this shop because it's in Lowell.  I looking for a local artist that offered clean lines and had some good black/grey tattoos that I connected with.  Thus, I found myself in Lowell Ink in search of Steve.  While Steve specializes in horror portraits and not at all in running dogs or curly fonts I knew he could handle the small tattoos I was looking to get based on his work displayed online.  I was right.  I have had two tattoos before today both with separate artists...not researched.  I openly admit some slight regret that I never researched the artists prior because the lines aren't crisp and blending isn't great.  I was happy I did my homework this time.Steve is great.  Talk about crisp lines and great detail in such a small area.  One dot the wrong way and it could've turned out bad.The shop conditions are a "C".  They aren't so scary you want to run out screaming, but I've been in some shops where everything is perfectly clean almost like a doctors office.  Bonus however:  The locals may offer you pot prior to walking in to the shop if you are lucky.  All the charms of Lowell.  That being said I didn't feel like their techniques or items they used were dirty and that's the most important thing.To me it's crazy no one has posted a review about Steve yet.  I would encourage you to check out his work on the website.  While I'm sure he had not predicted a stranger coming in asking for him and wanting running dogs and a saying written on her feet today I truly appreciated him inking me today.  I walked in there looking for some healing and found it.  And now, in dark moments, I can look down and smile.Thank you Steve. I've gotten tattoos done at a few different shops over the years and after only one visit Lowell Ink is my favorite by far. Every person I interacted with was welcoming and friendly. My artist, Danny, was amazing. He executed exactly what I wanted and made me feel totally comfortable. Many other places will make you feel unwanted or judge your tattoo ideas, but Lowell Ink just wants to help you put your idea in ink. Read Less

I've had Eric do work on my back before and he did an amazing job, so I was looking forward to going back. As always, it was a clean, comfortable experience. Just left there, got some work done by the artist known as Mace. Not only did he do an unbelievable job but he was a good guy too, we had a good conversation as well. A lot of times you sit in the chair and the guys working on you are rude or they seem like they wish they were somewhere else or that are doing you a huge favor. Not here. Everyone is friendly, and it's a good experience over all. I have a lot of tattoos and this is the first one i got here. I got my first tattoo here. It was a pretty huge piece on my chest and I think the price was just right. I paid only 200. Eric did an awesome job, too bad he left the place.
