I'd like to share my positive experience at Mom and Pop Body Piercing. My daughter has been doing very well in school, so I rewarded her with a couple of tasteful piercings for which she had been begging for a long time - a small sparkly nose stud and a cartilage hoop. Mom and Pop was not my first choice, as I had never heard of them. I called a couple of local tattoo and smoke shops, but they either had no piercer on staff or the piercer was not working that day. Unlike mo...st places that provide piercing services, Mom and Pop focuses on body piercing. I found Mom and Pop with a Google search and gave them a call. Sure enough, Sean was on the clock. In fact, he practices his art 6 days a week. So, we found his shop easily, right off of Plymouth Ave. His business is unmistakable, as there are very cool paintings all over his building. In fact, the interior is like an art gallery, with paintings by what I assume are local artists adorning the walls. The place is neat and clean with a relaxing vibe and cool tunes playing. We spoke to a polite and knowledgeable young man at the front desk, chose the jewelry from a varied, high quality array of jewelry, ordered our goods and sat patiently for our turn, as Sean was taking care of another customer. We could tell by the giggling and laughing coming from the piercing room. Not what I expected. It was time. So we entered the piercing room and Sean greeted us with a big smile and a welcoming demeanor. He proceeded to explain to my daughter exactly what to expect and eased any concern that she may have had. She sat in the chair and Sean began his work. He was very gentle, speaking to my daughter in a calm, playful voice. He has the perfect personality for a person who is about to thrust needles through your extremities. I was happy he was going to pierce my daughter's face by the time he started. I knew that I happened upon the right professional for the job He started with the nose and everything happened just like he said, down to the single watering eye. He was sure with his hands and minimized any pain with his precise quickness and dexterity. My daughter giggled at his jokes as he tended to the wound expertly. The ear was anticlimactic after the nose. He glided through that one without a peep from my daughter. Voila! 8 minutes and 40 seconds later according to my video and we were done. Perhaps most telling, his walls were filled with certificates from his continuing education, pictures of him with his wife and child, his family and friends, and last but not least, a tapestry with a quote from Confucius, 'Choose a job that you love and you'll never have to work a day in your life.' Sean is a good person, with tremendous skill and a well run business, who I would recommend highly. See More Read Less
